Stunning locations, great customer service, amazing stargazing. Lovely hideaway ... 1. The owners are just amazing. They go above and beyond to help and advise. Nolene was fantastic and very prompt in answering all my questions before our trip (we booked a year in advance), and also helped me locate a special lost pillow from Luderitz and even collected it for me from Keetmanshoop to give to me once we arrived. Thank you so much. Oom Giel - you are an absolute gem!!! My daughter was very entertained by all the information you gave her in the little time we had. I am devastated we missed your tour, but had very poorly family members. 2. The campsite- rustic, away from it all, with all the necessities but still making you feel a million miles away from it all. Perfect place for peace & quiet. 3. The actual camp/farm is just beautiful with all its rock formations and quiver trees. We sadly couldn't walk around and experience it all due to illness, but we will be back here. 4. Stargazing I think might have been the best we've experienced in our 4 week trip through Namibia. 5. Safety - this camp is far away from any towns ,so we felt perfectly safe. I think some of the other well advertised Quiver Tree camps are a bit too close to Keetmanshoop, so I wouldn't have felt so safe there. Namibia has changed over the last 20 years and there is a lot of petty theft when you camp close to towns. The drive to Mesosaurus is on a bit of a rough road but it is so worth it.

No one at Reception on arrival or to be Found anywhere, so we didn't wait around but used our initiative and found the Camp site & helped ourselves. Since we were the only Guests that night, we had free-reign. Remote. Very very remote. Quiet and peaceful. Own ablutions block. Showers and Toilets worked fine. Lit a fire for cooking and as a wildlife deterrent, sundowners and crashed. On Leaving in the morning we had quite task to find someone to pay. It was all we needed - Sure. All we needed was a safe lave to Camp for the night. That was it - all. Nice collection of Candelabra Trees

We spent a couple of nights in the 4-bed chalet here while travelling between KTP and Luderitz. The chalet was comfortable, with a small cooking area but we opted to have breakfast and dinner provided, both of which were good (home-cooked meal or braai for dinner and cereals/fruit/yogurt plus cooked breakfast). We really enjoyed the Mesosaurus fossil tour with Giel. It was both infromative and entertaining. We drove the 4x4 trail around the farm but there wasn't much wildlife. It was winter though and it is a working farm. With hindsight, I think 1 night here is probably enough unless you are camping and want to be somewhere remote with not much to do.

Great place to go camping if you enjoy a basic campsite - we loved camping next to the weavers nests in the riverbed amongst the quiver trees. It was a beautiful place to hike early in the morning when the sun was rising. The 4x4 trails are walkable if you don't wish to drive them and well marked, start early - it gets hot after 11am in April. The owner is friendly and instructions for camping and the tours are left at the reception which is not always open. The instructions are simple and the owner often comes down to the campsite to say hello when new visitors arrive. The fossils are exquisite and well worth the visit.

This campsite has been one of our highlights and although it is described as basic, all you need is provided - basic but clean ablutions, shade at the campsite, and a braai for cooking. Giel met us the next morning and he is so keen to share his farm with visitors. His tour of the farm and the fossils he has found is amazing and we felt privledged to be on his land. This is definitely a very special place.

A lovely rustic camp site, just what we are after. There was nobody at reception when we arrived or departed, but we just followed the instructions left on the reception door. 3km down the farm road we found the camp site with simple yet quaint ablutions. We lit the donkey boiler for hot water, started the fire for our braai (BBQ) and settled down to watch the sunset with a beer, while the kids exploired the Quiver Trees. After reading a few reviews on Giel's brilliant guided walks, it was a little disappointing he wasn't available, especially for the young boys in our travel party who would have loved to see some dinosaur fossils. This was perfect "wild" camping for us, and one of the favourites of our trip through Namibia. We prefer this style of camping, but if you're hoping for a welcoming party, electricity and your own butler, this place is not for you. For us though, heaven.

The campsite is very basic, with a very simple ablution block nearby. It feels almost like wild camping, although it isn't! The location is wonderful, in a quiver tree forest with boulders full of dassies. Lovely walks through the quiver trees, very good for photography.

I loved it camping here! Basic but that's the point. Was my first day out of Windhoek and it was great to be close to nature like this. There were brai facilities and a shared toilet/shower unit (wood for hot water) but other than that you're in the wild. The quiver trees and dolomite structures here are awesome and create a landscape unlike anything i have seen before so it was pure magic walking round the 10km 4x4 trail by myself feeling very safe. The daily fossil tours are well worth it also.

We stopped here we’ll into a 3-week trip. Although this camp is classed as rustic, the attention to detail made for a very comfortable stay. Working off solar power gas and donkey boilers, we had access to a communal freezer, we’re able to charge cell phones and camera batteries, had good suppers, good lighting and lots of hot water. The bedroom had very comfortable beds, little carpets so sand could be removed from feet, there was a box of board games to hand and the semi-open kitchen was well equipped. We joined Oom Giel, for a guided tour and wonderful stories of this beautiful farm, and got to see war graves, fossils and 1000s of quiver trees and fascinating stacks of basalt rocks. Many photos of spectacular sunsets, Milky Way and star trails. Careful use of natural resources

This was one of our favourite places during our most recent trip to Namibia. Our chalet was clean and comfortable. Lots of hot water from the donkey boiler which was lit for us. Our kitchen area next to the chalet was great, table, chairs, 2 solid plate stove, crockery and cutlery etc. In the communal kitchen further along from the chalets is a fridge/freezer which you can use. There is a stone braai built next to the chalet. We went on the tour with Geel, what a lovely man. Very informative and fun. We were allowed to wander through the quiver trees and rocks, after the tour was over. We stayed for 4 nights and loved every minute. It's a place we would go back to. Peaceful, stunning scenery and our batteries were totally recharged.
