Stayed over for a night with my husband last weekend and was really shocked at the level of service..upon arriving at about 13h00 we were told that our room wasn't ready... check in time is at 10h00!! The surrounding areas had not been cleaned up from the previous day... bottles and glasses lying around the bar area. then we decided to have a drink at the bar while waiting but we were told that the person in charge was in chingola with the key!!! We had to go all the way to town to buy something to drink and sat outside with not a single person enquiring about our needs or anything! The bar was finally opened after a long wait and the lady in charge never even offered one drink! We asked for some dstv music but she totally ignored the request...disappeared and left us to listen to loud local music videos. We then decided to book dinner which took more than an hour to prepare since there was no salad and it had to be bought first... the food was satisfactory. The next morning we tried to have coffee in the room but there was no milk or coffee so we settled for black tea! We then proceeded to order breakfast which is included in the accommodation rate...there were no cups and sugar at the serving station so i asked for some which again took half an hour...again we waited for about an hour just to receive 2 eggs.. half a Russian sausage.. 2 tbs baked beans and white bread because there's no butter for toast!!! How ridiculous. I left with a heavy heart because I live within walking distance and had hoped that it's a place I could visit again.. but that won't be happening. I don't understand the lack of service since there were many staff mmembers around... I suppose just waiting for their salaries at the end of the month... Chabanga is a lovely place and has lots of potential and I hope the owners will do something about the problems and change what's happening. No one has any pride and joy in what they're doing!!!…
The hotel is secure and well laid out. However the wifi does not reach all the rooms. The staff are very friendly and are always available to assist. However I am usually only in ndola for one night while waiting for my flight. Limited activities. I prefer mukuba.
This is my second visit to the place. Rooms are good, connectivity to the airport is great. Wifi is horrible. The family rooms are really nice. We choose that. Breakfast is decent. Haven't eaten anything else here usually head to the malls :D Happy with the service and the staff. pls Just sort your WiFi connectivity !!! Two routers and no connection in the rooms is ridiculous.
We stayed at Chabanga from the 12-14th of February for a Swimming Gala. Chabanga is about 5 minutes walk to Simba school hence the convenience of the location. I have stayed in a few places in Ndola and there is not much to choose from. When you come to Ndola it is difficult to find Excellent accommodation. The rooms and Chabanga were clean, had hot water and adequate appliances. The staff were friendly, courteous and patient. The only downside was that I got a room next to the bar and could only sleep once the bar had closed. In addition, the meals took about 45 or more minutes to prepare. I would like to add that the best part was that we didn't experience any load shedding at night.
On 1Nov 15 i checked in at Chabanga lodge for a four week stay. On day 10 some of my property were stolen from my room and there was no sign of force entry. My apple i pad, samsung galaxy cell and a pair of reebok running shoes were stolen. You must give your room keys in, in the morning when you go to work and you get it back in the evening after your days work. So who will be the culprit???? Management just said they will investigate but nothing hapenned. Breakfast is never ready at 06:30 as they advertise so i opt for a lunch pack. I received this twice in 10days. Pathetic. Pathetic. Dont ever stay their. Management just pull shoulders up regarding complains durig your stay. After day 12 i checked out and got another place to stay. Pathetic
