The Urban Hotel was brand new in 2016 when I checked in for a business trip; landscaping was still being developed. First, this place is located in a great location, central and in short walking distance to a mall with several restaurants and other shops. The standard rooms are relatively small, but sufficient, clean and contemporary. Contrary to countless other hotels my window view revealed a lush landscape, trees and meadows. No complaint about the bathroom either. A plus is the outside area with pool, full bar and several sets of patio sitting groups. The staff was appropriately helpful and friendly. Only credit card payment was cumbersome, since the guys at the front desk could not figure out how to reload thermo paper to the Barcley’s card reader. The Urban has all the

The hotel is less than 6 months old. While there are no luxuries, the place is airy, friendly and well situated overlooking the Ndola golf course, close to airport and a mall nearby. Staff are wonderfully friendly, but not overbearing. Rooms are functional, but very clean. The TV is not worth much, if you are a TV junkie. I only had one movie channel and my colleagues had 3 or 4 other channels. (This does not phase me as I don;t watch much TV. The pool and bar area is very pleasant and airy The wifi is excellent (great for business!). The food is of a very high standard, and while the menu is very small (usually 3x starters, 3x mains, and 3x desserts - changing each day - chef Wade deserves a special mention. His meals all have balanced flavours. His cheesecake dessert is

I stayed at The Urban Ndola for a weekend with my family in October. We were absolutely blown away. The location is perfect: 5 minutes from the airport, close to shops and other amenities, yet tucked away on the quiet Ndola golf course. As former Ndola residents we had never seen anything like this in Ndola. The décor and atmosphere is world class and makes you feel right at home. The food is of a true international standard. The service was welcoming and friendly. The rooms are small but well proportioned and with a very cool vibe. The attention to detail is unprecedented compared with almost any other city hotel I have stayed in in Zambia. I brought along my 1 year old and she is the best test as to whether a room has a good atmosphere. She slept like a baby - and so did the

I got an ecstatic feeling on arrival at the Hotel. Very nice and modern place compared to the places around Ndola. If you are planing to have an event, I would recommend the place. However, If you're planing on spending the night it's a different story. In the room I was sleeping in they was plenty of mosquitoes. The hotel didn't provide nets, repellent and insect killer. I killed at least a dozen fat mosquitoes in the night, enough to change the wall paint to red and they were at least some left around. Got entrapped a couple of times by mosquitoes while writing this review. I wrapped myself with bedsheets like an Egyptian mummy to sleep through the night. Longest night ever.

We are pleased to learn you found our two month-old hotel modern and nice. However, we apologize for the restless night that you endured. Now that the raining season has begun we have quickly learned about mosquitos in this area of Ndola. We have recently implemented four actions: 1) an aggressive fumigation regime, 2) in-room electric repellent units have been installed, 3) insecticide spray is now available in every guest room and public areas, 4) the housekeepers spray guest rooms as they begin their room cleaning and remain vigilant about window screens. Thank you for your comments. We welcome your return to The Urban and assure you of a peaceful sleep. Ronald
