The ground floor rooms are extremely noisy. Sleeping is possible between 01:30 and 04:30h. Concrete floor all over, cheap fittings in rooms, no useable bedside sockets. Beds okay for one person. Bathroom: Water tap fitted in a way that doesn't allow to wash hands. Permanent puddle in shower basin, water can't run off. No toilet brush. Fan noisy like a tractor. No bath mat. No shampoo, no soap, no lotion, no tissues. Cumbersome reservation and check-in procedure. Upon arrival door was open and staff clothes were found on hangers. Room didn't look clean and ready for occupation. Breakfast very basic. Quick egg preparation, although not quite to order. No milk in coffe machine (cappuchino is made with water instead of milk). Only grapes and melon pieces, no proper fruit…
Seriously, we visited this newish hotel in Ndola this evening. Spent more than a little money on drinks, bottle of wine etc. When I asked for the Wi-fi code I was told ‘it’s only for guests staying at the hotel’. Wtf guys - are we in the 21st century or not?? Then the waiter gave it to me as a sort of ‘clandestine favour’. Ridiculous that any serious business can have this attitude in 2019. Decent bar and entertainment, but Victorian attitude to Wi-fi rationing. Small minded.
I'd heard great things about the Urban so was keen to stay there while on a business trip in the Copperbelt. The hotel is new, modern, nice, situated in a beautiful golf-course. The artwork in the lobby, and the bar area are particularly great features but I found the room quite basic (no mini-fridge in my room) and bland, without much character. At a $120 per night price tag (December 2018), I felt my expectations were not met. The food at the restaurant was tasty but the portions rather small, at high price points. Even with a starter and main course, I did not feel sufficiently satisfied. I might go back to visit the bar as I liked that ambiance there, but I doubt I'd be staying there again, as I didn't find it good value for money. Have found other places in Ndola that…
The hotel is new, with modern amenities, swimming pool located on the golf course, the food is excellent and has a well-stocked bar. the service is quick and efficient. Has a good view of the golf course.
Wasn't a great visit, hotel is just OK. Staff are great, polite and well mannered, no intercoms in rooms,no fridges, no carpets or floor tiles. Kitchen closes at 22:00 and no room service. Nothing special.
