I spent one day with my family at the Lake Safari Lodge during the festive season. The executive rooms have a fantastic view of Lake Kariba. The rooms are also well equipped with much appreciated air-conditioning as Siavonga does tend to get very hot. Located just outside the Lodge is a small fish market where we were able to buy fresh and dried fish. However it is advisable to keep your wits about you because the hawkers are notoriously crooked. Next time I will carry my own scale because they used a dodgy scale. Siavonga also has a lot of other markets where you can buy curios and other memorabilia.

I was extremely dissapointed with the receptionist lady who was on duty on sun 27th september, 2015. She wasnt welcoming and was quite rude. I suggest the management should carry out regular meetings with their staff in order to maintain good customer relations, otherwise they risk losing good clients.
However we were in love with the rooms near the lake side, they are so relaxing and well maintained.

A spectacular lake side hotel; I have now stayed at lake safari three times and fully intend to stay again, set on beautiful spot by lake kariba with an incredible view. The service was brilliant as well as the food, fully equipped rooms with a fantastic view of the lake from the balcony. Fully equipped with tv and a Jacuzzi which I made full use of. The staff is friendly and very helpful with any requirements, the dining and pool areas also come with a view across the lake, boat rides also available for sundowners. I would recommend booking in advance as they tend to fill up fast especially during holidays and weekends.

Myself and my partner traveled to Zambia and on recommendation from a friend stayed in this stunning hotel on the banks of lake Kariba. The facilities and location of the hotel are the best in Siavonga, but what impressed me the most was the impeccable service! We arrived to a glowing welcome from management and every member of staff have a smile on their faces. During our stay there was heavy rain and unavoidable flooding, the staff were helpful, accommodating and good natured at all times. My partner and I were both very impressed. The other thing worth mentioning would be the quality of the food, the chefs produced wonderful dishes and the meal had there was one of the best whilst traveling through Zimbabwe and Zambia. I would definitely go back there and recommend it to others who are passing through!

We were given rooms that looked like the best rooms they had but as soon as there was some rain, our room was flooded with water. There was dirty brown water coming out of the shower. It was disgusting. For the inconvenience they offered to do our laundry which got soaked but when the laundry came, it had a bad smell. It didn't seem washed at all. Wouldn't go there again.

I had room 1 while facilitating a conference for a Zambian client. While not in the 4 or 5 star status this is a really enjoyable resort and a lovely place to stay on the lake. The view from my room was fantastic. Service OK and the food is also OK

Very nice place, fantastic location right on the lake. We even had a hippo outside our room one night! Food is very good quality and huge portions but not everything on the menu always available. Restaurant service can be a little slow but who cares when you have such a great view. Rooms 27-30 are nice big rooms with good bathroom/shower facilities. Friendly staff. True what has been said previously that they only have 1 excursion, a boat trip on Lake Kariba which was excellent value at about £26 for 5 of us for an hour. It's only expensive of you want to hire one of the bigger boats. Not much for kids to do (Lake and Dam) but I'd say that applies to the whole area not specifically this hotel. It's more of an adults retreat to relax and enjoy the scenery and the scenery is beautiful.

I stayed here for 3 nights. We arrived at 10pm (closely followed by another group who arrived separately) and reception and the bar were locked up with no one to be seen. Eventually someone managed to find the night watchman. I was put in room 3, which is one of the rondavels. It did have the biggest flatscreen TV I have ever seen, but otherwise furniture was sparse - only a bed, small table for the kettle and mini refrigerator. No chair, nowhere to hang clothes etc. There was also ant infestation. In the bathroom I found that if I didn't turn off the water to the toilet, it dripped constantly and eventually flooded the floor. Having to turn water on and off at the mains every time you want to flush the loo seems a bit extreme! There was no hot water either, and the water pressure was variable (although I suppose that is not restricted to the hotel). I only ate breakfast in the restaurant area, which was nice with a great view over the lake - but my colleagues were disappointed to find no fish on offer either night from the a la carte menu.

I stayed in this hotel for a night in Dec 2013.The lady at the reception treated us quite badly and as we asked for a discount she told us to go to a cheaper place. they do not have any activities in the dam except a boat ride of which to go, you must pay even for the empty seats. The rooms are being renovated and you meet the construction as you are going to your room. She refused to show us all the available rooms claiming some of them we too expensive for us. I will never recommend this place to anyone and i will not be coming back.
