We had 1 night here before we flew overseas. Everyone was so nice. The place was clean and the food served at the nosh cafe was delicious! Charlyn and Roman were very helpful. The bartender the night we ate at the nosh 5/23/22 (I don’t know here name) she was on top of her game. It was very busy and she ran the bar and waited on every table. Would recommend this place for your stay
We stayed here on night before an early flight the next day overseas. We stayed there clearly due to the location to the airport. However, I’d suggest you look elsewhere close to JFK. The rooms were not good and the shower/bathtub is so slippery that i fell out of the shower and hit my back and broke my finger. I’m lucky I didn’t hit my head. Didn’t make for a fun start to a long trip. Also, we thought the shuttle would be an easy way to get to the airport the next morning as they run very 30 minutes. What they don’t tell you is that they have to drop all the airline crews at their terminals first. So, we had to keep doing loops around the airport to hit every terminal. It took us 30 minutes to get dropped off from when we left the property. If they had just told us that, we would have called an Uber and been a lot less stressed about timing.…
I stayed at this hotel the night before an early morning flight. The hotel common areas are dates and in need of TLC. I have Ambassador Elite status with Marriott and received an upgrade to a suite. The room was dated but clean and everything was in working order. There is a restaurant in the lobby but I dis not find anything that suited me so I had a meal delivered. Overall, an average stay.
Came in late into JFK , lucked this hotel near to midnight. It was so cold and below freezing. Check in near midnight and was greeted friendly at the front desk. Room given at 9th floor and breakfast was provided to my surprise. The staff is helpful to get me a take away food as kitchen is closed last 11pm. Food dover after 1pm but is delicious when hungry. The room is nice and clean. Similar to the toilet. Parking is limited and luckily I found a parking along the road.
Thankfully we only had one night here on a JFK layover. It was disgusting. And overpriced. I can’t even excuse it as NYC standards. We always stay at Marriotts near airports and have never been in a place close to this poor level. Sorry I didn’t take pictures. There were big handprints ( on the glass desk top snd closet door) that looked like they were from housekeeping, looked like they had on gloves but why would gloves be so dirty? Who is supervising and checking on quality? Obviously not happening. Where are the new hygiene stand? Not happening here by a long shot. I am not a germ-a-phone but this place was beyond germs. It was just downright dirty all over. You could clearly see that the floor around the vanity had been washed but with a dirty mop or whatever. Lots of dust and dirt left around the edges, and not just from one cleaning, it had not been properly cleaned for a long time. The microwave had obviously not been cleaned in ages. Smudges around the door handle. Unless someone stayed there for a very long visit this too had not been cleaned in several turn-overs. Then the final straw came when we found a bar of used soap in the shower tray. The tub looked reasonably clean but the rest of the shower had not been cleaned. Yes, the whole place is old and tired. Walls in need of a serious scrubbing, carpet frayed and torn. Marriott take note: this place brings your whole brand down. Cut your losses and get rid of this property. Let someone else’s reputation go down with it. There were flight crews coming and going whenever we were in the lobby. I feel so sorry for them to have to put up with this place. Not worth it. I will say the four staff members we dealt with were polite and appropriate. That’s all this place has going for it. As a previous reviewer said, there are other hotels close by. Surely they are better kept them this nightmare.…
