Stayed at Flatdogs for 6 nights. Had 6 safari's which were all amazing. Stayed in a chalet which could of been used as self catering but used the restaurant all the time for meals. Early breakfast at 0530 before going out on safari then back at 1000. You can eat anytime up to 2100. Food good. The staff there are friendly and very helpful along with the Managers who make sure your stay is very comfortable. Around the chalet and tents are the wild animals which is an unbelievably site. You need to be there to witness it. Our thanks to everyone 👌

First time safari trippers and we'd go back again to Flatdogs Camp in Zambia. It had what you expect from a safari experience; plenty of animals to see in and out of the camp, knowledgeable staff, really good food in lovely surroundings, comfortable accommodation and not expensive, that is by safari standards. And we'd suggest that October is a good time of the year in Zambia as it's Warm, dry and not many biting insects.

Dear Chris, We have won the award for "Best Value Safari Camp in Africa" a couple of times at the London Safari Awards, and we are proud of that. Being able to open this world up to the average person, and not break the bank, is one of our founding principles. it is more and more difficult to match good value with all the demands we are met with, in an areas that needs our support to be sustainable. So helping with education, conservation and infrastructure means that running any safari business is an expensive pass time. But we are glad you recognised the value we offer. it is not cheap by any means, but we hope it was worth every cent. just by coming here you are contributing to the sustainability of the area through the part of our income we commit to NGOs and Charities in the area we support. This is a first rate place-- perfect location just outside the park entrance, lovely accommodations (we stayed in the luxury tents, complete with attached bath), extremely gracious hosts and staff, excellent food, and exceptional guides. We were here for 4 days at the very end of the dry season, so though it was hot, the camp was not crowded. We enjoyed exceptional service, great dining, and superb safaris 2X each day. The relatively low level of the river this time of year concentrated much of the wildlife at the remaining watering holes, and we were rewarded with breathtaking views of an abundance of creatures. Hi Michael, Thank you very much. October is a fantastic time to visit if you don't mind the heat a bit. It is a dry heat so at least it is not uncomfortable. And as you say the game viewing is better than ever. We focus largely on the quality of the safari experience but also realise that people want a bit of mod cons when they have come all this way, and it good to know you enjoyed the accommodation and the food as much as the safari. it is lovely for our staff to read such great comments and we thank you for such nice feedback All the best Adrian

Right from the start, with elephants in the water hole outside our tent as we arrived, through the daily morning and evening safari drives into the park to the plethora of animals we saw, the expertise of the guides and the genuine welcome from a wonderfully caring staff, Flat Dogs Safari Camp gets it just right. And that's before I think about the wonderful food - abundant and available at any time. Perhaps not for those who want ultimate luxury, it has a superbly comfortable atmosphere, and the warmth of the welcome and ethos are what make this a special place. It is run by Howard, a very impressive Director, who was born and educated locally and the standard of service and hospitality is 5 star. Hi Prallwill, Thank you for noticing the care we take over our guests and the effort we take to keep the camp natural in order to make the animals feel at home. It is not the ultimate luxury as you point out! One of our tag lines on the website mentions "no gold taps!". But what we do provide is great service, from fantastic staff, led by Harold (Howard!) who has been with us for 15 years and now leads the team in camp.
