Experience the ultimate in wild luxury at Zambia’s premier safari camp. Situated on a sweeping curve of the Luangwa River, Time + Tide Chinzombo brings style and sophistication to the Luangwa Valley. This wildly luxurious camp retains its bush authenticity with grass and canvas walls and spacious living areas that melt into the exquisitely tranquil riverside setting. Its six spacious luxury safari tents (including a two-bedroom, two-bathroom family tent) rest beneath ancient msikizi trees. Each has a private pool and soaking tub with panoramic views over the river and its abundant wildlife. Down a winding path, the main lodge beckons. Lounge on the riverfront sun deck with a book from the open-air library. Enjoy dinner under the stars, made with produce we grow ourselves. Sip a drink at the bar while browsing through old books and photos or around the fire pit suspended high atop the river bank. This is one of the most game-rich areas of South Luangwa National Park. Take a boat across the river with our experienced guides for a game drive, safari walk or boat cruise (seasonal) to catch sight of lions, leopards and other predator action.

Very expensive and although the rooms are incredible and the standard of safari guidance is excellent it’s not really worth the money. If you like eating at your own private tables for all meals then you’d enjoy it here, where we quite like group tables where everyone swaps stories of what they saw on safari over dinner and wine. The wine here was better than usual for safari house wine but for the price that’s to be expected.

Safari was good here including walking safaris and probably the best night safaris as we saw several leopard including one with a kill and a mother and 2 young.

Sundowners were lovely here with great spots and beautiful views.

We are delighted that you enjoyed your safari and were so well taken care of by our guides and saw several leopard on one drive. The South Luangwa is referred to as the valley of the leopard as this region is just perfect for them to thrive. Best regards from us all at Time + Tide

Chinzombo is a stunning lodge in a beautiful location in South Luangwa. The rooms are luxurious, spacious and classy - All with a villa type deck and plunge pool over looking the Luangwa River. There is always an abundance of wildlife around the rooms... we had baboons, Bandit Mongoose, bushbuck and Ele’s just to name a few... and of course we could hear all the hippos on the river! Charles was our guide and was fantastic. The vehicles are modern and in great condition. The food was exceptional and Gloria was the perfect host... Good Times in the bush!!

I have been to many safaris and Chinzombo is one of the best I have ever stayed!

The main area and the luxury tent is stylish and cozy, the food and safari guiding is top standard, the camp is right by the river and guests can hear the hippos 24 hours a day.

We did a short walking safari and we love it! South Luangwa is a huge park with many accommodations but Chinzombo is definitely one of the bests.

Chinzombo offers a fantastic luxury experience. The arrival is beautiful - a short boat ride across the Luangwa to the most luxurious safari lodge I've been to, and that includes some of the best in Kenya. The staff do a great welcome, the food was great and the service was perfect. Our guide Abraham was the most knowledgeable person I've ever been on safari with, especially on bird life.

Chinzombo is just outside the south luangwa park, we arrived via a boat from the park, great start after visiting Mchenja as our first camp and it only got better. A luxurious camp, all the facilities you require, each unit is like an apartment, own plunge pool (it was cold but given the time of year, thats expected), wifi, fantastic meals, and
bar service. Ben and Billie are excellent hosts, just the right amount of interaction. Brian was our guide and we had a fantastic time with him and Veron. Lots of laughs, leopards, wild dogs, the male lions Ginger and Garlic, elephants crossing the river, etc.
We would recommend this Norman Carr camp to anyone interested in visiting this area.

We spent one night in this beautiful place. What can I say everything about it was amazing. The staff the rooms the food and the sheer beauty of the place is unbelievable. We had the most amazing game drive through the park expertly guided by Adam and Simon. We had incredible sightings one of which were lionesses sleeping off a meal and a pack of wild dogs. The attention to detail throughout our stay was awesome.

It was an exceptional luxurious camp in the wilderness of South Luangwa National Park. Staff are attention to details with warmest hospitality; guide is professional and yet very funny; food was delicious; the design of the lodge is just a real dream!!

A cosy indoor and outdoor communal area brings us the Norman Carr's stories in a modern and chic way. All of the tented suite are facing the Luangwa river filled with "happy hippos", who literally walk up in front of guests' tents to graze & waking us up in the morning :) Our own spacious balcony with private plunge pool in a descent size makes us want to just stay in and just watch the game from there.

We visited at the beginning of the dry season in early May, our game drives were relatively good - lions, hyena, leopard, zebra, Thornicroft's , elephants, Cookson's wildebeest...

Chinzombo is not a typical Zambian bush camps, it's contemporary and more luxurious. It was a perfect mixture for us to combine with another bush camps for the journey.

We had a fantastic stay at this very smart lodge. Very nice tented accomodation with air-conditioning to help sleep at night in the hot months. The staff were great, food excellent and meals not too large. Each tenet (suite) has its own pool which is very refreshing as well as private. We used a boat to cross the river and into park. Great game viewing in South Luanga. Love to come back as 3 nights barely enough.
