We were absolutely spoiled by the owner-management couple Yvonne and Hein, from arrival to departure they were always there to assist with a smile, explained the history of the farm and surroundings, took us on stunning scenery drives and ensured that we stayed in very comfortable accommodation and received tasty meals (a la carte restaurant). The scenery and views at Rostock are magnificent, complete solitude in the Namib Desert. Highly recommended!

A nice lodge, about 10 km off the main solitaire road for a great 1 night stay…all units Sleeping 2 are cozy and quite small, but offer great views of the surrounding landscape.
Breakfast and dinner is offered in the lodge, food is very good and choice is also good. A nice touch after a days drive is the opportunity to go for a hike around the local area for sunset views, or use the pool too relax. Note the pool really ice old and the swinging relax chairs are not especially comfortable even though in the pictures they look cool. More normal sub beds would be good…(only 2 when we visited)
If you want or need WiFi don’t count on it working - the guest Wi-Fi frequently is offline and only works, if it works, in the main building….

One of our highlight (we French couple living in Berlin) during our 3 weeks tour through Namibia! Perfect reception with owner Yvonne, an incredible location, perfect organization, unique bungalows, nice breakfast and Dinner. The owners organized also nice hiking paths (walking yourself) through their tremendous location. We did some of them (1 to 5 hours hiking walks). A place we recommend absolutely to stay!

This was one of our favourite lodges. The location is absolutely stunning being quite a drive from the road. The rooms look like Hobbit dwellings - stone igloos, yet they are completely practical with locking wardrobes, solar panels to heat water in the shower, and your own private balcony with tremendous views. There’s no aircon but there is a fan. Depending on the time of year you develop a system of opening and closing the windows, to keep hot air in or out. Mosquito nets were provided but we weren’t bitten. We loved the rooms.
There’s a beautiful swimming pool with sunbeds. For dinner there is an Al a Cart menu. At lunchtime other guests turn up for meals. We stayed 2 nights which gave us time to try a couple of the marked self guided walks. We had a great experience of watching a family of zebra for an hour. There were also oryx and Guinea fowl.
You can watch the sunset on the patio, of the restaurant, with a drink just before dinner. Food was good and tasty.

This is a bit of a hidden gem. It's located somewhat off the beaten track and makes a great stopping point if you are travelling north from Soussusvlei. The accommodation is not flashy and a little unusual looking, but they have built it to blend in well with its surroundings. It's comfortable enough. The food is great here, particularly if you take the a la carte option. The pool area was the nicest we saw at any of the lodges we stayed at in Namibia. The terrace area gives wonderful views, particularly at sunset. You are a 20 minute walk away from being in the desert, sharing your space with oryx and zebras and the glorious landscapes that make this area so special. The staff here are all wonderful, and I would like to highlight how welcome Travis made us feel and how helpful and friendly he was throughout our stay. It was also extremely good value compared to most of the other places on our route.

My husband and I spent one night at the Rostock Ritz and enjoyed our stay. The surrounding landscape was stunning (and a beautiful sunset), the owners and staff were friendly, and the room was clean and well appointed. Minor complaints are that the bathroom was a bit tight, and wifi in the rooms would be a nice touch. But the overall premises were lovely, and we really enjoyed the hikes on site, including the sundowner hike, which was relatively short and easy but the views exceeded our expectations, and the sunrise hiking trail, which was similarly stunning. I am in my third trimester of pregnancy and was able to handle those hikes workout a problem. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this lodge to others.

we used this lodge as a stop halfway in between Sossousvlei and Swakopmund. It was a very relaxing stay. We enjoyed the beautiful and shaded pool area, the stunning views and the fantastic food. All the personnel and the owners were very friendly and helpful, happy to provide recommendations. We definitely recommend to eat dinner outside on the beautiful terrace with gorgeous desert views. The waiters will bring candles to make you as comfortable as possible. You can dine under the stars and enjoy the most delicious Oryx and Springbok steaks. Don't forget to look for the mountain zebras that are roaming freely around the lodge (there was even a cute baby hanging around).

The most disappointing place and our biggest regret during our 3 week trip in Namibia. The camping is awful and absolutely not comfortable. Concerning the staff and the director... They are unhelpful, no customer service, and disrespectful. The swimming pool is unaccessible if you sleep at the camping; we asked 3 times and 3 times they said no, including the chief whereas nobody was in the swimming pool! Thank you to the staff, you ruined a part of our vacation!

Stopped off here to break the journey from Sossusvlei to Swakopmund. It is a very quiet, stunning location with hiking trails and a pool. The lady who greeted us was very helpful and endeavoured to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The food at dinner was exceptionally good. Our room was very small, dark and cramped.There was no barrier between the toilet facilities and the rest of the room which might be a bit off putting for some. All in all a good place to spend the night if you want break your journey before going over the pass between here and Swakopmund but probably not one to stay in for more than one night.

We stayed at this hotel as a stop between Sossusvlei and Swakopmund, it’s about in the middle. We stayed just one night and were not great fans of the hotel. The WiFi was not working and the electricity plugs in the room just the 3-pins, not suited for international plugs or even USB as you see often. The dinner was okay. Nice walks can be done around the hotel, which we enjoyed to see the sundown.
