On our route from Sesriem to Windhoek we planned a stop at Hauchabfontein to visit the quiver tree forest. As we left Sesriem a sandstorm was going and still holding up a the time we arrived in Hauchabfontein. Kiewiet and Edith recieved us with open arms but due the high winds and shortage of time it was impossible to visit the quiver tree forest that day. We definitely will be back some day.

We spent 2 nights here whilst visiting Sossusvlei. In truth we tried to get into camps inside the park or closer to Sesriem but we were so pleased that they were full! They were full of too many people and overland tours. It was so tranquil with natural beauty as your vista everywhere. We swam in the pools and walked around the site which covers a huge area for only six site areas. Facilities are perfect and small touches like the path lanterns are lovely. No electric hook up though but didn’t pose a problem. It was around 60 kms to Sesriem but we left for the Big Daddy around 5.30 and in honesty didn’t feel we needed to be first at the gate for sunrise. Came back in the afternoon and cooled off in the pools. Sat outside star gazing before quit nights sleep! Our best Namibian camp experience so far.

Sehr nette Gastgeber, sehr schöne geführte Tour, traumhafte Landschaft, absolute Ruhe (war allerdings nicht ausgebucht). Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Sehr schöne Campsite. Alles vorhanden, warmes Wasser, alles sauber. Oerfekt. Very nice, everything available, warm water, nice owners, silent, just great!

Sossusvlei-Führung - herzlichen Dank unseren beiden sympathischen Gastgebern!

This was an absolutely wonderful campsite, done with so much attention to detail. Lovely and big campsites which offer a lot of privacy. The toilet/shower blocks are really nice and feel more like your bathroom at home rather than a campsite. Fires for hot showers are lit in the evening (so no hot water in the mornings) and the showers worked beautifully. They even light candles along the pathways when it gets dark, what a nice touch. You have to check in at the farmhouse which is a kilometer or so up the road, we got a really warm and friendly welcome and loved our stay, thank you.
