This was our third stop on a self drive tour of Namibia, and was a surprisingly easy drive from Swakopmund. The roads are quite good ( definitely better than from Windhoek to Sesriem!). The lodge is in a wonderful location with the central building set like a hilltop fort. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the staff here. Agnes, the manager is so welcoming and wonderful. Our first evening , we were the only guests and we had the loveliest dinner in the courtyard by the fire. The second evening we had a delicious dinner on the roof. All of our meals were excellent. The rooms are absolutely lovely, with beautiful views. Even in June, days are quite hot, but it definitely cools down at night. Our guide was amazing ! We were so fortunate to find the desert elephants, including babies ! We also visited the rock engravings at Twyfelfontein, which we really enjoyed. An amazing, once in a lifetime experience we will treasure.

Really enjoyed my stay at Doro Nawas! The staff were so amazing and friendly. The rooms were beautiful and we rolled our beds out onto the balcony to experience sleeping under the stars. The 360° views were stunning. Bernhard was our amazing game ranger who is so knowledgeable and passionate! He took us to see all the heritage sites, black rhino tracking and to see the desert elephants. Felt so lucky to experience seeing a black rhino with the anti-poaching and conservation unit!

Thank you for your wonderful review. Sleeping under the stars is one of the greatest joys in Namibia as there is an amazing view of the Milky Way. We are thrilled that you had amazing sightings - it is not common that you would encounter these species in this arid environment, but our guides are adept at tracking them down if they are in the area. We hope you got some amazing photos. Thank you again Wilderness Safaris

We visited Doro !Nawas Camp for one night only, which was the only disappointment! We were on an 11 day self-drive tour of Namibia and this was one of many wonderful places we stayed. Since returning home, we have decided that this was in fact our favourite and we wish we had been able to stay longer. Our welcome was superb - the staff were fantastic and we enjoyed their singing and dancing. Along with our fellow guests, we were pleased to be able to sing back at supper and on departure! Perhaps not to the standard of the staff though... The food was excellent, the views across the desert breathtaking, and - even though we had to retreat due to a few spots of rain initially - the ability to wheel our beds onto the verandah to sleep under the stars was just brilliant. Waking to see the dawn all around me was something very special. We also enjoyed the swimming pool with its fabulous views, and would have liked to take one of the walks. If we are ever able to return to Namibia, this will be top of our list for a longer stay.

The scenery is stunningly arid and a beauty of its own, this gem of a place has super friendly staff and are delightful ! The possibility of viewing the Desert adapted elephants is a short scenic drive away, as is the interesting little village of the Riemvasmaakers .. Lovely safe walking trails in the area.

We know several lodges in Namibia, but this one we would with no doubt score nr.one. Breathtaking views 360degree, excellent kitchen, extremely friendly team, an open fire in the evening, little huts to stay in, you an put your bed on the terrace at night. The tours that are offered are interesting (don’t miss the elephant drive!). Three years ago we stayed here only for one night, and decided when we would come back to go here again and stay for longer, and we don’t regret.
