Welcome to the Inn at Twaalfskill, an elegant yet intimate retreat tucked into the peaceful Hudson Valley countryside. The four-room Inn combines modern conveniences with Victorian charm, providing a serene escape from the everyday. Decorated in period antiques and evoking the themes of European influence and French Country decor, the inn is luxurious getaway. Located in Highland, New York, The Inn at Twaalfskill is an 90-minute drive from New York City and Major New York Airports.
Our family loved our stay at the Inn at Twaalfskill for 3 nights in November - Nancy is a wonderful host and the inn is both immaculate and perfectly located. Our rooms were large, clean, and well-appointed. Nancy noticed our likes and dislikes and went all out to cater to them. The location was perfect for exploring the area, visiting nearby towns and the nearby Culinary Institute and FDR Library. We went out each morning on the walking trails, including the Walkway Over the Hudson a short stroll away. The breakfasts were sumptuous, with different savory and sweet options each morning, always accompanied by a fruit and yogurt parfait and freshly baked goodies. The common area was kept well stocked with fruit, snacks, and beverages each day. Highest recommendation - we will definitely be returning.

I really hate to give this inn a review because it was so incredible I don't want it to become so popular I can't stay again! I live in Massachusetts. Family having 75th birthday party for a cousin and this inn was recommended by a relative - just down the road from them.
Immaculately clean, classy, beautiful. Nancy is charming and was so accommodating and professional. Room was beautiful, spacious, nice. Spa tub was too die for as was rest of the beautiful bathroom and awesome hairdryer (the small things!). I was also impressed that, though all three rooms were booked, we didn't hear a peep from anyone from our room.
Best part: the breakfast served at time you wanted by Nancy! I got broccoli egg crust less quiche w/fresh unbelievably delicious toast. My mother got the almond, raspberry french toast. Fresh fruit, orange juice, coffee. So incredibly good.
As I said, I hate to recommend because I want to return and fear word of mouth will book this place forever. Reluctantly still have to give this place the highest recommendation possible. Book and stay and you will NOT regret!!

I really research my travel so it's unusual for a place to exceed my expectations, but this one did! The house is luxurious, immaculate, and homey, all at once. Every reviewer talks about the breakfasts but they really are wonderful. You sign up for a time and walk in to find your table set up with a pot of coffee, a carafe of orange juice, and a different baked treat every day, each better than the last. And if you can't finish that, you'll find the rest of it wrapped in cellophane and ready to take with you next time you walk through. The grounds are lovely and the short walk to the rail trail and walkway over the Hudson are a fantastic bonus. And as others have said, Nancy is a gracious host -- knowledgable, friendly, and just available enough without ever hovering. The relative we were there to visit is going to move away from the Hudson Valley soon but we'll have to find another reason to return.

We adored this fabulous find! The accommodations were everything that we look for in a B&B. The house was very attractive inside and out. We loved the amenities and decor in the place and in our room, which was quite spacious and comfortable with a wonderful large, jetted tub. Breakfast was delicious. There was an attractive seating area outside. Extreme attention was paid to every detail. The whole place was extremely clean, and Nancy and Eric were delightful hosts. The location was a great launching point for our explorations of the Hudson Valley, with the added bonus of being right next to the Walkway over the Hudson, and a choice of bicycles to use on the trail. We’ll be back!

My husband and I recently spent an overnight here to celebrate our anniversary and the experience was wonderful. Even before we arrived, Nancy was very helpful with restaurant recommendations and things to do. We were able to check in a little early and get settled. I felt that having the bottled water, tea, and delicious baked snacks available throughout the stay was such a great touch. The room was spotless and the bed was like sleeping on a cloud. The absolute best part was the breakfast. I don't think I've ever had a homemade fruit cup where every single piece of fruit was dead ripe and perfect. The Swedish pastry was to die for and the avocado toast was spectacular. Can't say enough nice things about this inn and we will definitely stay here again when in the area.

Especially this year, it's important to find places that manage to feel "normal" while still keeping everything safe. The inn had "sanitation stations" and socially distanced breakfast tables to help guests feel comfortable. With bars and night life closed down, it was nice to have cozy patios outdoors where a bottle of local wine could be enjoyed. Beds were super comfortable, and the bathtub was luxurious. The inn was located near the Walkway Over the Hudson, which was a wonderful way to experience the stunning local scenery. I highly recommend this inn if you need a safe weekend away.

This is our favorite place to stay. Nancy is a warm and welcoming host, and she makes every stay extra special! Everything is impeccably clean. Breakfast is a culinary delight of the senses. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. The common areas welcome you to sit in the sunroom, by the fire, or in a private outdoor nook to read, have a drink, or watch a thunderstorm or some softly falling snow. Tea, water, Nespresso, and coffee are always available, along with some delectable baked delight. Nancy is always full of great ideas for things to do and places to eat. A walk or bike on the nearby rail trail to the river is always beautiful. This is our place to reset, recharge, and relax.

Thirteen years ago I selected this inn as the place to get ready for my New Paltz wedding. The hospitality and every detail were so sublime that I returned with my husband for our tenth anniversary and again for our thirteenth. We'd come more if we could! A few small things have changed through the years- new touches in decoration, but the warm welcome and most of the beautiful furnishings remain the same. Nancy finds fresh peaches in May, and cooks delicious breakfasts to order. Everything is immaculate, including the Jacuzzi. The linens are luxurious. The landscaping is impeccable, the creek roars, and the birds sing good morning. This last trip we walked to The Walkway Over the Hudson. I love that we can enjoy a romantic oasis in this Inn. It was a gift to our relationship to have a night away where we could really enjoy each other and the beautiful surroundings.

This inn is outstanding! Had a fantastic 2 night stay at the Inn at Twaalfskill and loved every minute of it. It's clear the owners have taken loving care of this historic home and have turned it into a truly awesome B&B.
Nancy and Eric the owners are a delight and went out of their way to make sure every detail was just right. Breakfasts are off the chart! Fresh made breads and muffins and along with a full breakfast. I don't think I've ever stayed at a cleaner B&B! It's immaculate! We stayed in Room 1 which was perfect. Beautiful en-suite bath with jetted tub and a huge walk in shower.
It's very convenient and the grounds are lovely with lots of flowering trees. Highly recommend!

Such a lovely bed and breakfast! Stayed with a group of friends and we are already talking about going back. The rooms were very clean and the beds comfortable, but what made our stay were all the thoughtful touches, like a coffee and tea bar available all day, and a delicious full breakfast. Nancy was a wonderful host and we would highly recommend to anyone!
