Room was clean, safe and on the highway. We received early check in even though the hotel was fully booked the night before. We were thankful for that. Manager went above and beyond searching for a needle and thread so that I could sew a button onto a suit jacket . Free coffee and breakfast was nice for our long journey home.

I'd like to start off this review with a personal request for those who stay at any hotel who are part of a large wedding/bridal/bachelor party and I hope you'll respect the request from the perspective that it comes from...
When your large party comes back to the hotel after an event, late at night, the halls of that hotel are not there for you to congregate and have loud conversations while other guests are sleeping.
For some reason, it seems common that those in a large party group return to a hotel and just completely seem to forget that it's a place where people are trying to get a good night's rest.
So, my girlfriend and I were in the area for the annual Headless Horseman event up the road. We chose this particular hotel six months in advance (as hotels around this area sell out quickly for October) as it was not only close to the event but also remarkably inexpensive.
I am a Hampton Inn kind of guy. I am used to their level of offerings, particularly their breakfast. Best Western Plus is usually my second choice which can be fairly close in providing the same level of value and breakfast. To date, I have never stayed at a Surestay, which while part of the Best Western family, seems to fall in the lower spectrum of their brand.
The front desk personnel were exceptional. Check-in was very easy. We were given a room at the very end of the first floor. As we took the long walk down the hall, we noticed white ribbons on many of the doors. My girlfriend and I sighed as we immediately knew that there was a wedding party staying there. And true to expectations, the party arrived back around 9 p.m. and was quite audible in the hallways. I was awoken at 1:30 a.m. by loud hallway conversations right outside my door. It was just remarkable that these individuals thought they could carry on this way, in the hall, and not bother anyone who was sleeping. And of course, the hotel personnel did nothing about it as I am certain they must have heard the ruckus at the nearby front desk.
The rooms are average. They are very clean and the beds are very comfortable. However, there is no closet space to be had anywhere which we found to be quite odd.
The continental breakfast is a complete joke compared to what you get at Hampton Inn or Best Western Plus. There is no hot food, though you can request frozen biscuits from the front desk to throw into the microwave. They were not very good at all. The wrapped pastries were really bad. Perhaps the best items offered were yogurt and cereal. The coffee was not very tasty. Since we are staying two days here (we are still at the hotel), we have already decided to skip the free breakfast tomorrow morning and go to a nearby diner instead. Sorry, but the continental breakfast is just completely lackluster.
In all, it's not a bad place to stay if you can get a room for under $130 a night. It's clean and comfortable which are two of the most important things you want to look for in an overnight stay.

Thank you for taking the time to provide such a thorough review and giving your input regarding areas where we can improve and areas where we did well. Your input will be reviewed with staff, especially the overnight personnel to discuss better ways of handling noise late at night. It is important to manage expectations and as you mentioned, this is not a Hampton Inn or a Best Western Plus so we do have different brand standards to comply with regarding our breakfast offerings. Our brand directive does not include having chafing dishes with hot eggs and meats or pancake or waffle machines.

This hotel was reasonable for the price. Things were fairly clean and seemingly remodeled, it was quiet and we felt safe, and that is really all you can hope for in a budget motel. Front desk was effective but seemed pretty bored/unhappy with their job. Bathroom was clean but our tub/shower was completely clogged so we showered in ankle deep water. The heater was pretty noisy - the albatross of many hotels. Breakfast was not appealing - cellophane wrapped goods and very weak coffee. But again, it did soundly meet the basic criteria for a budget hotel.

We have stayed here in the past on a few occasions and never had any issues until this last time. On our way home from Maine to PA, we stayed here for 1 night along with my parents. A few days after we returned home, my mom noticed a $300 fee on her credit card. She called the hotel and was told it was a cleaning fee for smoking in the room. My mom explained that it was a mistake because they are not and never have been smokers. She was told to email the manager, Dorothy. My mom emailed Dorothy and explained that this had to be a mistake and asked that the fee be removed. Dorothy's response was rude and unprofessional. She told my mom that they had photographic evidence that my they had smoked Marijuana cigarettes in the room. Dorothy included a photo of the so-called evidence that looked completely staged. My mom again responded that this was a mistake. Dorothy then responded that maybe someone else in her party entered her room and smoked. My mom told her to look at the cameras. The only people that went to their room was me to ask them what they wanted for dinner and then my husband to drop off their dinner. My parents are both in their upper 70s with health issues. Neither of them have ever smoked anything, let alone Marijuana. Each time my mom tried to plead her case with the manager, Dorothy's responses were snarky and rude. She told my mom to dispute it with the credit card company (which she did, and the fee was removed). The credit card company was extremely nice to my mom and helped her with the dispute. They said hotels do this all the time to unsuspecting guests. I don't know if the hotel tried to make a few extra bucks off my parents thinking that they were elderly and wouldn't notice the extra charge or if someone working at the hotel smoked the Marijuana and then tried to place the blame on my parents to cover it up. Regardless, we absolutely will not be staying there again and I caution anyone who does to make sure you check your credit card statement for extra fees.

We appreciate your taking time to review the property. We are sorry that our policies which are outlined on the registration paperwork that was signed at check in state no smoking is allowed in the rooms. We understand that you/your family deny doing so. Advice was given at the time the complaint was filed to file a dispute with the credit card company as the property had photographs which were provided of evidence of smoking. To date we still have not received a dispute from the credit company.

This place is small but clean and well maintained. It's in the middle of nowhere so it cost WAY more that it should since there aren't other hotel chains within 30 miles of this area. If you had to travel here for work or a wedding your options are small. However, price aside... it was a nice hotel. Just not worth what it costs.

The general accommodations were fine. The room was clean and available. The breakfast experience was not good. It was a continental with many item not available. The hot food offering of a sandwich which had to be microwaved was awful. The staff was friendly. The bed was very soft.

So glad that I discovered this SureStay Plus Hotel...The staff is very friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable, the breakfast options were great. The hotel is just far enough away from the highway so that there is little to no traffic noise to be heard at night. What was especially nice was the availability of the various entryways - which made bringing items to and from my room convenient. I'll be back!

I arrived at SureStay and found a beautiful room with two double beds. I had a little trouble with my air-conditioner in the room. However, the hallways were absolutely freezing and many customers were complaining. When I went to breakfast at 9 am(available until 9:30, there was hardly anything left. There was no regular coffee and it was clear that no one checked to see if anything needed replenishing.
There is a nice breakfast room and a very nice lounge area that you do not always even see In very expensive hotels.

Really nice newer hotel. Our room was clean and we liked that the floors were vinyl wood grain versus carpeted. Our bed was comfortable and the room had a Keurig coffee machine. The hotel was quiet and in a safe area. Breakfast was typical for this price range - waffles, yogurt, muffins, oatmeal/cereal, but no toaster. Microwavesble bagel egg sandwiches . Only downside was its two floors and there’s no elevator.

Our stay was very comfortable! Staff very pleasant & accommodating. Room was excellent, very spacious IMO. Breakfast - eh...packaged pastries, cereal, oatmeal, fruit, coffee, milk and juice. So here's the "but", keep an eye on your credit card. I prepaid in Jul via Hotels.com and the hotel charged me again after check out. I addressed it with both Hotels.com and the hotel, was told it would be taken care of. Once the charge posted, I disputed it with my credit card. Didn't feel the need to contact Hotels.com and the hotel again to probably get the run around. I'm a one and done kind of person. Only 4 stars because I have to deal with the additional credit card charge.
