Beautifully situated by the riverside of Zambezi. And when you glance over the river, it's Zambia you are looking at. Here you'll have the nature and the fauna literally within a few feet from the dinner table. And we are speaking of the mega fauna, elephants, hippos, walking outside your tent. My first visit at the Mwinilunga camp was in October 2016, together with a south african friend who had persuaded me to go to Mana Pools and was eager that we should go to Dave and Tess' camp. Since that I have gone myself and brought four groups with photographers to the camp. Mana Pools is a fantasticly beautiful NP, and what makes the Mwinilunga camp so special are simply the owners, who also personally help in serving the guests very early coffe and porridge plus big-hearted brunch and in the evening delicious dinner. The food is excellent, it's hard to believe that you are getting such high class cooking in the bush and in a country where it's a never-ending struggle to get the right raw products, if any raw material at all. The secret behind the fantastic cooking is Tess, before starting the camp she ran a reputed catering firm in Harare. You can immediately feel that Dave and Tess love the wilderness that characterizes the Zambezi river and the national park. But Dave and Tess don't only love the environment and the amazing wildlife, they are truly lovers of their fellow humans. I know no other camp in Africa or elsewhere where I can find the same warmth and open heart.

Thank you Brutus for taking time out of your busy schedule to send a review of our camp and now we know why you keep coming back and bringing people with you, Thank you! We are so lucky with the site of our camp in Mana Pools as it is one of the nicer sites with both river frontage and viewing over the flood plain and The Mwinilunga team is happy that we can share this with our guests. Thank you for your kind words about Tess and Dave and YES The Mwinilunga team try and run a very personal camp sharing the Mana Magic with our guests and we are sure that is why we have so many returning guests. The blue and pink light in Mana Pools is the most fantastic I have ever seen. Then to stay at this so warm, wellcoming and fullservice camp beatifully situated on the river bank of Zambezi with the wild life just outside our tent. Amazing and absolutely marvelous! No internet, no connection what so ever, which none of us missad for a second. Just being and enjoying every moment made me feel so good in both body and soul. Wish everybody would have the the opportunity to experience this fantastic place!

Thank you for taking the time to send a review on our camp and glad you found us warm and welcoming in a beautiful part of Mana Pools. Yes we feel the NO INTERNET is a really good way to make our guests relax and enjoy the magical experience of Mana and have a complete break from stressful daily living. But saying that we are not totally cut off from the world and our guests are contactable in an emergency as we do have a little communication with Harare. We hope you have a chance to come back again one day to enjoy our camp some more. The Mwinilunga team.

This camp is the best there is! Situated in the hart of Mana Pools. The owner crew and guides are knowledgeable friendly, there is a warm family feeling around the whole thing. They care about the environment and the animals. Food is well made and delicious. On top of that no wi-fi and this is a great thing in times like ours when you have to be connected 24/7! Letting you relax and be one with the experience with the animals and fellow travelers not interrupted by mail etc and the rest of the world for a while. I want to say thank you all from the bottom of my heart and I hope to get back! Can’t recommend this lodge enough! Magnus Svärd

Returning to Mana Pools in Zimbabwe is always a special treat but when the wonderful people at Mwinilunga Safaris and Trichilia Camp are there waiting for you, well, that's the icing on the cake! Tess, Dave, Kevin, Roogs and all of the wonderful guys behind the scenes at Trichilia Camp all have a special role in making a trip to the Zambezi floodplain unforgettable. From the mouth-watering food that comes out of Tess' kitchen to the resident Hippo, 'Hippie' and visiting elephants, Mwinilunga ensures that all of its guests go home with memories not to be forgotten. Mwinilunga is off the grid. No electricity, no wifi, no cell service and NO FENCES. You are immersed in the life of wild with the trials and tribulations of your every day life put on hold, not to be thought of. One must just succumb to the calls of lions, the stories that the tracks tell you, the slumbering hippos, leopards in camp and the eles that stop by for lunch. This was my third stay at this very special camp, won't ever be my last! Thank you so much to all of you who take such wonderful care of us. You are my Mana family!! xxx

We were a family of 9 and stayed for 4 nights. Tess, Dave and Rooges were the best hosts, best fun and we could not fault the service or the position of the camp. The food is the best in Zim and a proper 5 star Robinson Crusoe... we stayed in 5 different camps in Zim and this was our favourite you far. Richard our guide was wonderful and informative and Hippy ( who slept along side one of the tents ) was huge bonus

Thank you for your wonderful review and we are so glad that you had such fun with us and that we were your most favourite camp in Zimbabwe and we had no faults. We are also happy that you were able to experience Hippy the hippopotamus as he is wild but he thinks we are his family! The Mwinilunga team.
