Linkwasha Camp (opened May 2015) lies in Hwange’s south-eastern corner, on the private Linkwasha Concession. Situated on the same site as the old Linkwasha, the camp is close to the famed Ngamo Plains, which offer fantastic summer game viewing – to add to the already excellent winter viewing within the Linkwasha Concession. Overlooking a pan that is a magnet for game across all seasons, the fresh, open and airy design of Linkwasha Camp is complemented by an eclectic mix of contemporary interiors with the original spirit and essence of safari. Eight en-suite luxury tents and one family tent look out over the waterhole, while the main area includes various multi-level decks, a pool area and a winter lounge complete with library.

We cannot thank you enough! Linkwasha exceeded our expectations, in part due to the excellent staff and guiding. Liberty the manager was with us at Little Mak in 2019. He manages Linkwasha now and with his team, make this a wonderful camp. Paolo and Nikki were great assistant managers. Our guide from the airport, Livingston, found the wild dogs 45 minutes after we landed – a pack of four which were beautiful!
Eustace, our guide on safari drives, always looked out for us and ensured that we had a fantastic experience. Except for the first day of drives, Eustace was our private guide for our stay at camp! He taught us great sundown photography tips and ensured that we knew how to use them. We visited the hide in Linkwasha, Little Mak, and Davidson and have fantastic elephant photos! Eustace was relentless in finding us great experiences and photo opportunities. It would be wonderful to work with him again someday. Staff member Patrick also is noted as exceptional, as he repaired my hiking boot when the sole dislodged – how he could sew the shoe and sole back together is a wonder to me!
Keep up the good work and our thanks for making our 15th African safari a wonderful and exciting experience.

As this is the 4th time we return to Linkwasha, I think I should only say why and give tips:
Wilderness Safaris has the most pristine ,diverse and produvtive concession in Hwange with no other public vehicles traversing. We know, as we have been throughout Hwange NP 10 times.
Linkwasha is the top of the range of their 3 camps, so larger rooms and more luxurious than Little Makololo and Davisons, which we have also been to. The gameviewing experience is the same at all camps, so just a matter of taste and budget would determine which camp to choose. They are all excellent !
With Covid having changed travel, many American guests had to do several Covid tests, due to visiting more than one country in Southern Africa. This can become exhausting, expensive and stressful. I would therefore suggest that you book one country and enjoy what's on offer. Zimbabwe has 5 Unesco World Heritage sites as an example and there are also many amazing areas to visit in Botswana, Namibia, Zambie and South Africa (though the latter will be much more commercialised).
Last suggestion; Go with one company so that after arriving, they take care of your total trip and even the Covid testing before departure. For that I can strongly recommend Wilderness Safaris.
Then a great thanks to Liberty, Ivy, Avias and the team at Linkwasha who spoiled us throughout our stay. Tawanda, Tanashi and Felix our great waiters and Tish and Sheperd our chefs, Thanks for the extra weight we gained, the food and service was outstanding ! Thanks Peter Gava our guide again for your knowledge and experience, we had a marvelous time !
God bless all at Linkwasha and we cannot wait to return !!

This camp is located in a beautiful setting with spectacular sunsets.

The rooms are nice but it was our guide Leo who made the experience unforgettable.
He is smart, a fine man, considerate and wonderful to spend time with. He showed us interesting wildlife and birds and was agreeable to do whatever our wishes were.

The food at the camp is poor. They must improve this problem. Wildness Campos in general do not provide fine quality dining. We stayed at four Wilderness properties on this trip and it was the same problem at each property.

Thank you Leo for being such an outstanding guide to Hunter and me.!!!

We are sorry to hear the food was not as you had desired and will be sure to look into this with our kitchen team and operations department. We are glad to hear that over all you had an enjoyable stay with us but more specifically your time spent with Robert. We will be sure to pass along your high praises. One of the most important aspects of a guest’s journey is making sure that their guide is the best he can possibly be, both on a professional (knowledge) basis as well as being able to easily reach the guests on a personal level. We make sure that our guides understand this and strive towards achieving this balance as it is often a guest’s interaction with their guide that can make or break a journey. Thank you again, we are truly grateful to hear Leo was able to epitomise this, Kind regards, Wilderness Safaris

Loved my time at Linkwasha - thanks to my guide, Peter, Liberty and his team for an amazing stay.

The rooms are super comfortable, overlooking the Linkwasha Plains filled with herds of elephant. Two resident male cheetah and a lion pride gave us ample photographic opportunities.

The meals are delicious. A really special time there.

Our 5th visit to Linkwasha was as expected just awesome ! We yet again loved our luxury Classic Plus room. The food and game viewing was exceptional !
Thanks to everybody who went out of their way to accommodate our every need.
The managers Nicky, Fillippa, Liberty and Mbaki were just great ! So were our guides, Tendai and Livingstone.
Shef Bennet's food was awesome. We especially enjoyed lunch 'al fresco' at the waterhole, with waiters joseph, felix and Tatanda always ready to serve.
Our game drives were exceptional, especially Lion sightings were outstanding. There were plenty of game as we have had in the past too.
We cannot recommend this camp too highly, we just love the vibe and the scenery.

we were 4 single ladies traveling all over the age of 70. the camp site was excellent. .you could see the animals from your tent drinking at the pools. and walking past you. our guide lexington was excellent, he knew all the right places to find the animals, and sure knew his birds. which one of our ladies was into. the staff could not of been more helpful and pleasant. and went out of their way to make sure you had everything you needed.
there were plenty of animals to see. and out guide made sure that we were up close for good photo's and that everyone could see the same thing. i would highly recomend this camp site. covid precautions were taken care of so that you had no worries .Wilderness safaries was very good

We have just returned from a stay at Linkwasha Camp and cannot wait to tell others of this blissfull little piece of paradise on Earth. We have been on safari before, several times, infact. But Linkwasha was simply the best.
The "glamping" canvas lodge is a luxury safari for those who want to see everything but also want comfort. I know this may sound a little odd for the purists. But believe me you need somewhere 5 star to return to when you have to get up at 5am. And Linkwash also boasts a rarity of a swimming pool in the bush.
All great places have great staff and Linkwasha is no different. Everyone was so friendly and the chefs cook great meals to order.
Its all inclusive the rooms, the food, the wine, the cocktails...Enjoy. We certainly did.
Because this was essentially a safari you need a good guide. Eustace was brilliant. We put him under a bit of pressure as the big cats had moved away from their regular spots in the bush as the water supply became plentiful and the ground turned a lush green. But, as if by magic, Eusatce the magician found a pride of 6 lions all on a hunting trip for widerbeast. It was all movement and action to fill our cameras. Then two male lion "brothers" having a well earnt snooze. Straight after that, a cheetah.
As with all safaris one is amazed at how the guide spots the big cats, zebras, giraffe, elephants, well before you do. Its a skill and worth every penny. If you only ever go on one safari in your lifetime GO TO LIGWASHA.

Linkwasha offers superb elephant encounters both from the hide at the waterhole, and around the concession. Our dietary requirements were considered and excellent food was provided all throughout the day. Multi-country plug points are available in the room. The camp runs on solar with a backup generator. Despite other more rustic camps that we stayed at later in our trip being able to manage hot water, Linkwasha struggled with this. We are experienced with African safaris and are keen photographers. After first being grouped with 4 loud, first-time safari tourists, Linkwasha kindly arranged an additional game vehicle for us which was appreciated, however the guide was not yet qualified and some photography opportunities were missed with the lack of experience.

After a week or so hopping between safari camps in Southern Africa you can forgive your memory for blending the experiences of camp into one homogenous group. But then a camp will stand out and be seared into the memory as unique. And so it is with Linkwasha. Based on a private concession nothing has been overlooked in blending the residential experience with the wilderness experience. Set around a drinking hole, which is refreshed from a borehole, it is like being inside an episode of your favourite wildlife documentary. A real highlight is to spend a few hours at dusk in the hide, just metres away from the water’s edge. Your view may be obscured by a passing elephant leg, as you gaze at the unfolding scene. In our session we had elephant, giraffe, antelope, wild dogs and the queen of the savanna, a lioness. Truly breathtaking. And then there is the service, food and safaris. You eat regularly here and everything is fresh and made on site. The menus are as varied as they are delicious. The staff are great fun, attentive without being in your face. They welcome you as if into your home. Wilderness as an organisation has very loyal staff, many have been there 10+ years. Our guides TK and Livingstone know every tree and termite mound and ensure great sightings. And Wilderness invest in the communities within which they operate to their great credit. A smart moves as most of the staff are sourced from local villages. A visit to one is worth doing. We went to Ngamo whose school is maintained by Wilderness, and whose clinic was built by Wilderness. The conservation message is getting through - the village leader said that they have the lion and the elephant to thank for the clinic.
Linkwasha Camp should not be missed.

Flew in with Wilderness Air from
Victoria Falls in stormy weather. Pilot (Victor) handled everything well and we felt safe throughout.
A drenched guide (Peter) collected us and safari began in earnest. Some good sightings on way into camp.
Arriving after lunch Liberty offered sandwiches on home made bread. We could see it was going to be good.
All staff are well presented and enjoy their jobs and deal with people well.
Guiding on both our vehicles was top class as was everything in camp.
Great location with Lion visible from camp in 2 occasions - plus the usuals.
A great place to visit and appreciation to all involved.
Well done for operating in these difficult times.

Hello, Thank you for your question. Unfortunately none of the tents at Linkwasha have bathtubs, however each room comprises an indoor shower with an inward opening door giving the illusion of an outdoor shower experience. There are however, a number of Wilderness Safaris camps which do have bathtubs including Ruckomechi which has a unique outdoor bath along the river of the Zambezi. For more information you can have a look at the Wilderness Safaris website or ask your Travel Agent who will be able to give you more details. Hope this helps. Wilderness Safaris

Hello Perreaultrichard, Thank you for your question, Linkwasha does have a multi-plug adapter with several universal points including a USB charging point. However this is not common at all properties in and around Southern Africa so we do suggest that you bring the necessary adapter just to be safe. Should you need your Travel Agent will be able to provide you with an image of the multi-plug adapter that can be found in Linkwasha and all Wilderness Safaris camps. Thank you again Wilderness Safaris
