What can I say and how do I describe my husband and my amazing experience staying at the Hide.
We drove from Victoria Falls to Hwange Main Camp took 2 and a half hours and we were then picked up by the fabulous Theo who was to be are guide for our stay this drive was 1 and a half hours.
Our first game drive that afternoon was amazing we saw 4 cheetahs after a fight as well as elephants and zebras finishing up with sundowners by a waterhole.
Each morning on our early game drive we saw lions another highlight.
Theo was a magnificent guide full of enthusiasm for the magnificent wildlife and scenery of the area and so informative he is an asset to the Hide Team.
The Hide camp is beautiful we stayed in tent No 4 which had a lovely view of the waterhole, it was airy and spacious very rustic.
There was a bath situated in the window also with views of the waterhole and a gorgeous outdoor rain shower.
The bed and pillows were very comfortable.
There was a seating area outside.
The central camp area was a great place to get together with other guests, enjoy a meal and view the waterhole. Also use wifi.
The Hide where you could get up close and personal with the animals drinking from the trough a great photo opportunity.
All our meals were of a very high standard and were either taken outside under the stars or in the dining room.
There was a continental breakfast and a full course lunch plus afternoon tea. You could help yourself to any drinks from the bar or fridge.q
The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful.
Overall this was an amazing African experience that will live in our hearts forever. Thank you.

Over 22 years of Safari Lodge visits across Africa and volunteer Rhino monitors on South Africa we stayed 3 nights at The hide with family and could not have been looked after better .
Excellent guide in Innocent who really was so interesting and knowledgeable. My daughter in law as a Pescatarian was well catered for , my son who has a huge appetite also happy .
Rooms delightful- especially bathing under the sun or stars .
Doves nest which offer a night of seclusion under the star was a high point . Lions, Hyena , Elephants around all night .
Staff were friendly, attentive efficient- nothing was too much trouble .

Hard to put into words our amazing experience at the hide. Kate and her awesome team, gave us 3 days we will never forget. From arrival to departure the staff went above and beyond what we expected.
Our guide Liam, an extremely knowledgeable young guy puts his heart and soul into showing guests why Hwange and The Hide are such special places.
The tents are very clean and extremely comfortable, the meals are very fresh and well balanced and atmosphere of the camp is very relaxing and special.
I hope to be back next year, and without a doubt, I will be booking a tent at The Hide.

We had a wonderful 3 nights at The Hide in tent 5. We experienced a storm on the first night and could not sleep as the view of grazing kudu (we think) grew closer with each lightning flash.
Then twice each day we would roam around in the jeep with a really knowledgable guide (many thanks Nkosi) sighting a huge variety of creatures from lions and snakes to hyenas and ostriches, all over different types of terrain. It was pure joy.
The Hide is situated by a water hole so ideal, drink in hand, for watching more animals at dusk, and swapping stories with fellow travellers.
Staff are all extremely helpful and a pleasure to be around. Food is very good and you can help yourself to range of pre dinner drinks.
I could go on but the whole experience was just superb.

Can’t say enough about our visit to The Hide. We travelled from the US, four of us. The accommodations were over the top. Certainly didn’t rough it! Our rooms had a view of the pan, watched elephants and baboons and wildebeest and so much more….oh my! There was a place to watch the elephants drink from the trough from eye level perspective! Incredible.
The rooms were very comfortable, great beds and a full tub and separate rain shower plus a private outdoor shower….which we used daily. The food was great, David treated us well. And the bar was open! Kate, the manager, was very involved daily in our comfort and experience.
Our guide was so knowledgeable! His expertise in finding the mammals and exotic birds was exceptional. Sean has the eye of a photographer, knowing the importance of lighting and how to optimize it for the best photo (2 in our group were very interested in photography). We are a group who have known each other a long time and like to have fun. Sean caught on and quickly was part of our group. We would love to go back to The Hide and certainly will ask for Sean again. And, we travelled during Covid. We felt very comfortable with all precautions that were taken. Go.

My 2 sons and I stayed four days at The Hide and what an incredible time we had. Starting with everyone working at the camp, they make the experience the best you could possibly want and go above and beyond to ensure you are well taken care of and safe
The rooms are very comfortable and you don't even notice you are in a tent. The food is incredible and you will not go hungry, even my boys, ages 21 & 27 had to tap out a few times we ate so much.
The riding and walking safaris were beyond expectations and sitting in the actual Hide with elephants and other animals just feet from you, yeah amazing!
Sitting on the porch or taking an outdoor shower with elephants, zebra, wildebeest, etc... so close to your room is something to be treasured.
Thank you to everyone at the camp for making a boyhood dream come true with such a world class experience!

This place was fantastic. the view from the rooms was amazing. The staff went above and beyond to make sure that you had everything you needed and great knowledge of the park. The food was great and different every day.
We saw a lot of groups of the animals not just one by itself. Henri the tracker was great fun on the drives as well.

Our stay at the Hide was incredible. We stayed at “Tom’s” which is a short distance away from the main Hide as we have young children. This suited us perfectly as there was no pressure to keep our children quiet with the worry of disturbing other guests.
There is no WiFi at Toms which we were grateful for. WiFi is available at the main Hide which is a very short walk away.
The food and service were impeccable. Small touches like hot water bottles in your bed each night and marshmallows for roasting on the last night just made it extra special.
The weather was cold but not freezing.
Nkosi is a brilliant guide who gauges clients wants / needs and has the patience of saint with children! He really is one of a kind. We were exceptionally lucky with game viewing but this is also down to Nkosi who has eyes like a hawk and just knows the bush! We saw countless Ele’s, giraffe, zebra etc but most notable was following a pride of 15 lion the one day as they casually made their way up the road and also spotting 3 bat-eared foxes and a honey badger with baby - really amazing.
Our last day was very overcast and windy so we had little hope of seeing any game but took the long and bumpy drive out to Mbiza (?) and unbelievably Nkosi spotted 2 male lion in the distance. We managed to get close enough for some great viewing of these two magnificent beasts and thus ended our trip on a real high!
Brigette and the rest of her team were always cheerful and very attentive but at the same time respectful of our space. I really do not have a bad word to say about anything.

We saw all the great reviews of The Hide, but we were visiting in early March, near the end of the rainy season, so we didn't have high hopes for seeing any wildlife at all, with the leafy bushes and tall grass. We were very pleasantly surprised with animal sightings, though - they blew us away. On our five game drives, we saw some 20 lions in four different prides, including 8 cubs. We saw eland, giraffes, jackals, elephants, warthogs, zebras, and a zillion birds. We even saw an elusive African wild cat. It was just an amazing few days of sightings. Our guide Liam was fun, friendly, and well-informed.
The lodge is way out there in the bush, some 45 minutes from the Hwange park main entrance. This is a good thing: we didn't see any other safari vehicles from any other lodges in our entire stay.
Our room was wonderful: a luxurious tent that was open to the bush, but not that open. We heard wildebeests and elephants passing by all night long, but the screeens sealed tightly, so we had no mossies in the room. We had a choice of an outdoor or indoor shower, but always showered outdoors because it was kind of cool to keep an eye on the wildlife trail while showering!
Meals, drinks, and (weak) wifi were at the lodge. The staff were very friendly, the drinks were cold, and the food was very good. Chilling out with other guests at the fire pit was the perfect end to each day.
We loved our stay and can't wait to visit again!

We spent three days at The Hide as a family with three children. It was a unique experience in the Hwange National Park. The warm welcome we received from the camp managers and the entire Hide team was absolutely fantastic: the professionalism of each member of the team, the availability of everyone, the warmth and friendliness of the team was one of the highlights of our stay. As we were travelling as a family, the team reserved a private area f with a swimming pool and terrace just for us. The rooms are very comfortable, and everything had been thought of to make our stay a pleasant one (hot water bottles in our beds at night to keep us warm, plug adapters, jug of water, etc.). The terrace is sublime and complements a covered lounge/dining room. As well as impalas, baboons, etc., we were able to see a lion and an elephant passing right in front of our dek, always surrounded and advised by members of staff to ensure our safety. The chef also spoiled us from morning to night, taking our tastes into account and being very careful with a case of food allergy! And last but not least, Toppers, our guide for the three days, was fantastic. His knowledge of the park and its animals was boundless, as was his patience with the children. We did 3 game drives with him each day, day and night, and each outing was fantastic. Many thanks to him

Hello,
Our underground wine cellar is available for all guests to view and enjoy. You can simply ask our staff to take you down to it. It has some premium wines and whiskeys that are sold at an additional cost if you would like to try them. Otherwise we are an all-inclusive camp so all drinks and all food are included during your stay.
I hope this has answered your query. Please let us know if you need anything else.
Warm regards,
The Hide Team
