This was my second visit to Elephant's Eye but certainly won't be my last. This was just a short one night stay which is not nearly enough, although even in that short time we saw a big lion on the way back from sundowners, what a treat! After that excitement, we went back to the lodge for a delicious dinner, g&ts and a very welcome fire, nothing was too much effort for the lovely staff

I was lucky enough to visit Elephant's Eye Lodge again on my recent safari to Zimbabwe and Botswana. Obviously I keep on returning every few of years because it's a gem. With the intimate setting of 8 rooms, you get the feeling of exclusivity and service to match, at a super competitive price. The staff are so attentive and the personal attention makes you feel so special. Daphne is an experienced Spa therapist and gives a great deep tissue massage. Definitely a must. The elephant's Eye cocktail (with secret ingredients) was a huge hit. First night we were visited by a herd of elephant just as the sun set. They wonder up really close to the fire boma and one ventured closer to drink from the pool. Some even walk around past the chalet's. On the second night whilst sitting around the fire boma or "bush tv" we were entertained by 2 lions calling each other and being able to hear how they were coming closer every time. They continued roaring and calling till early hours of the morning. African bush life at it's best.. Dumi the resident guide was a star and very knowledgeable. . Thank you to the team for another unforgettable few days.

Hi Sue, Many thanks for the lovely review. We are pleased that you keep coming back to Elephant's Eye! That feeling of exclusivity in an intimate setting is what we strive to give our guests. The fire at the boma with the visiting elephant herd really is the best kind of 'bush tv' that you can get -- we simply love sharing this experience and look forward to your next visit. Kind regards, Sandra

Elephant's Eye is definitely a return destination. I couldn't wait to get back to the rooms, the food, and Hwange National Park. Our last trip was full of elephants - on the game drive, beneath the chalets, by the pool! This time - lions. We were returning from sundowner drinks when we came across two male lion, in extreme focus and determination. Then we saw them - a huge herd of buffalo crossed the road in front of us, the lion on their scent. The lions hot on their tracks, the buffalo moved swiftly off into the bush, hoping for safety. Losing sight of both animals we eventually head back to the lodge, where we spent the evening around the campfire listening to them roar in the distance - what an incredible feeling!!!

Hi RayPringle, Thanks for the stunning review of Elephant's Eye! The buffalo and lion are a special treat - it's great to experience the unique scents and sounds of our wildlife. Glad you enjoyed the pool too - sometimes the elephants get thirsty and drink our pool water...all part of the fun at Elephant's Eye! We sincerely hope you will join us again for more safari adventures. Kind regards, Sandra

Something about stepping onto the grounds at Elephant's Eye feels like coming home - though I'd never been there before my first visit in May 2021. What a stunning location, gorgeous main area, and the most beautiful treehouse tented rooms I've come across: so spacious, thoughtfully appointed with a fireplace, outside shower and a bath overlooking the Hwange plains. I could have stayed there forever! The staff were so pleasant, so friendly, so warm - we were all instant friends. And Chef Enoch produced some of the most delicious meals I've ever tasted - including my favourite, a waffle with homemade Amarule ice-cream! It was a treat to have a special sundowner trip to the Eye, a raised deck a few kilometres out from the lodge, overlooking a waterhole. Delicious drinks were prepared and we caught sight of elephants in the distance. On our way back to the lodge, the sun already set, we crossed paths with a big male lion - this was few metres from the lodge entrance! And then as we sat around the fire after dinner, we heard 2 male lions roaring into the night. A spectacular experience of life in the bush. Would highly recommend a visit to this exceptional Zimbabwean eco-lodge!

What a great way to end an unforgettable 5 day trip to the park. 3 nights at Nantwich and 2 at Elephants Eye. We loved the rooms, the beds are super comfy, showers were hot. The food was excellent ( can’t decide which Chef was better - Nantwich or Elephants Eye). Our guide Dumi was informative and friendly. Special mention must be made to Daphne. She is a super star. A fabulous host, masseuse, bar lady. Thanks for a wonderful time. We will be back in August
