Robins Camp, now under private new management, offers an exciting revival of the iconic safari destination in Hwange National Park,in an area rich in natural water. It is a perfect area for game spotting,or just relaxing in the wild African bush. We have chalet accommodation available, or for the more adventurous, camping sites. Chalets are tastefully decorated in and out with hand painted Matabele designs. Each room has en-suite with hot and cold water and high pressure showers, an overhead fan for hotter days and a full mosquito net to protect you from insects. The rooms may all be configured as twin or king units. Rooms are tastefully decorated by our local designer using recycled and local items and fabrics.
I stayed at Robins Camp in August but life got in the way of a prompt review. I found Robins when searching for an affordable safari experience near Victoria Falls. It exceeded my expectations, especially as it was so much more affordable than any other place in the park. My room was a wonderful little bungalow that was spacious, comfortable, and well-maintained. I had a little porch to sit on. The grounds of the lodge are lovely and spacious. I really enjoyed the nightly fires and talking to the other guests and staff about our days. The food was wonderful and service fantastic, and I loved the Hyena bar. The decor was very old-safari vibe which was both charming and delightful. All of the staff were amazing and did everything they could to make me happy and be sure I had a fantastic trip - especially everyone in the dining room! I took all my game drives with Lue, who was EXCEPTIONAL! I went with a goal of seeing as many animals as I could and I saw THEM ALL! Lue found ALL the animals - leopards, cheatahs, lions, zebras, hippos, elephants - and birds! Best of all, Lue had all sort of knowledge about the animals and ecosystem, so not only did I nearly lose my mind with excitment over seeing all the animals, I learned a lot , too. I am so grateful to Lue for making this trip the best. He even found the most elusive decaf coffee ha ha. One thing I noticed while out on drives is that the guides in Hwange are very responsible and respectful to the animals, and there was never an instance of more than one vehicle at a site or coming to close and making the animals nervous. They all really care about protecting the park and its unique beauty. Thank you to everyone at Robins and to Lue for making my short trip the experience of a lifetime! …

Had the best experience at Robin’s camp from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. It was my first time coming to Robin’s camp and it certainly did not disappoint. Simon was our tour guide and what an amazing job be did. He taught me a lot about Zimbabwe and about the animals. He offered drinks and snacks and ensured that we were comfortable from start to finish. I feel that the drives would not have been the same without Simon. Will 100% be coming back as soon as possible to stay again. It was actually a very hard goodbye to leave not only Robin’s camp, but Simon, too. A huge thank you to him and the camp for making it one of the best experiences. Would recommend to anybody!

Our stay in Robins Camp was amazing, and I very much look forward to coming back as soon as possible! The service is second to none, the staff are so helpful and friendly. Our game drive guide, Simon, was incredibly knowledgeable and it was a pleasure to be shown around Hwange national park by him. It was very hard to say goodbye but hopefully it is only goodbye for now. Will be recommending this place to everybody I know! Accommodation is clean and comfortable, feels so peaceful to be with nature. The food is incredible and I have not eaten that good in a long long time! Robins camp thank you for such a wonderful stay x

Robins area is great for game viewing, and if you can't get hold of one of the picnic sites for camping or if you prefer the amenities of these bigger campsites, then go for Robins Camp. Best ablution facilities I have ever had, electricity, decent restaurant, nice bar, wifi and everything well-appointed with the 1930 charme.

Thank you to all at Robins Camp for making our family reunion stay so special. You dealt with my husband's mobility issues and even moved our chalet to one nearer to the restaurant area on arrival which was most helpful. We had a delightful Acacia chalet and our family shared a 3 bedroom family room, which suited us all perfectly. The rooms and public areas were spotlessly clean, and the food was simply amazing. The whole camp is very spacious but friendly, the pool was very welcome between game drives (if a little on the chilly side in August!), but most of all it was so relaxing. So many places to sit, enjoy the sun, read a book, play a game, kick a ball, enjoy time together, swim, watch the occasional wildlife at the waterhole just outside the camp . . . My daughter celebrated her birthday whilst we were at Robins, and the chef produced a delicious cake, which was presented by the staff singing Happy Birthday - much to her embarrassment, and our delight! Our game drives were skilfully managed by Thulani - highlights being lion (of course), a massive herd of buffalo in the morning light, and a wide variety of antelope, giraffe, zebra, elephant . . . but no Cheetah (next time Thulani!). We loved the history associated with Robins, and in fact we were treated to the family heirloom teaset being produced at our daughter's birthday celebration. We have been on quite a number of safari trips (this being our first with the family) in a variety of countries, all very different experiences (which is what makes them all so exciting), but Robins has a great offering at great value for money, and is very easy to reach from Victoria Falls and Livingstone. I would say, don't change a thing, Robins, just keep doing what you are doing and keep your standards up. Our family live in Zambia, so hopefully we will make it back over the border when visiting them again in the future. Thank you to all the staff …

This was our first visit to Hwange, and Robins Camp is a fantastic place. Camp sites are large and far away from neighbours. The camp site is away from the lodge but you still feel part of the lodge as you may use the bar and restaurant, lounge etc. Very safe camping, fantastic ablutions with strong and hot water. Also very quiet at night. We had a bit of car trouble while staying there and the staff and management went out of their way to assist us until everything was sorted. I would love to stay at the lodge one day, as it it lovely colonial with a lot of history. Robins Camp is a must when you visit Hwange! We will be back!

What a pleasure to be in the bush in a lovely, comfortable Camp with all amenities. Super cocktails in the Hyaena Bar and a sparkling pool to swim in after a hot day in the bush. Excellent staff who were friendly and served each sit down meal which we loved. We will be back again next year.
