Le Domaine de L'Orangeraie Resort & Spa is lauded for its luxurious villas, with many guests applauding the spacious and stylish rooms complete with outdoor bathrooms and large balconies. The hotel's location is a hit for its ocean proximity and stunning views, enhancing the overall inviting atmosphere of the property. While the amenities, including a scenic pool and live music dining experiences, receive high marks, some visitors note the beach and Wi-Fi could be improved. Although the service is generally celebrated for its attentiveness, there are occasional mentions of staff missteps. Cleanliness is well-regarded, with daily villa maintenance praised, yet some suggest minor enhancements could be beneficial. Value perceptions vary, with some guests finding the hotel's pricing for dining and drinks steep, while others believe the exceptional experience justifies the cost.

This was the second hotel stop on our Seychelles trip. This hotel impresses with its unusual style, including a great pool. We stayed in a room on the first floor with a view of the garden. The room was very nicely designed and clean. Only the garden area (view from the balcony, not inviting to linger) does not do justice to the hotel concept. We only enjoyed the food in the hotel restaurant once, but it was definitely recommended. Guests receive reusable drinking bottles as a welcome gift on arrival and can use the water dispensers (pool and reception) for free at any time. This concept is certainly worthy of emulation - with a view to sustainability. However, we found the prices for alcoholic drinks to be excessive, even for a hotel in this price range. Shops and local restaurants are within walking distance, and bicycles (in varying conditions) are available on site for excursions.

A holiday in this hotel is highly recommended.
We were greeted very warmly with a gong. Afterwards, the hotel was explained to us and we were given a comprehensive introduction to all the amenities. A glaring disadvantage for us was that we arrived at around 11:30 a.m. and could only get into our room at around 3 p.m. Of course we knew that check-in could be late, but we were sweaty and tired, so I expected the hotel to be accommodating. We were driven to our room in a buggy, our suitcases were already there, the room with a balcony and a wonderful view of the jungle-like grounds and the sea was perfect. The room was outstanding with a beautiful outdoor bathroom, a large plate of fruit and a bottle of ice-cold sparkling wine made our arrival fantastic. First dinner in the evening was again a very friendly welcome in the buffet restaurant, the food was varied and very tasty, you shouldn't set your expectations too high here.

We made our stay from La dyke to the orange grove.
No false Rating.
Large spacious room and a real extra bed to be 3 in the room without being squeezed.
Very nice location 5 min walk from the ferry terminal, obviously we pick you up and bring you for free.
Outdoor bathroom with beautiful outdoor shower!
Very comfortable beds, very quiet environment.
Very attentive staff, very kind, and many speak French easily.
Breakfast varied and quality, with a part made by the minute (eggs e.g.)
The top is life and especially the pool!
Very large, soft, excellent temperature, we enjoy going in and out regularly.
Room, easy deckchairs.
We tried the buffet formula one evening, varied, neat, nice starters and nice desserts.
In short a very good time.
WiFi connection very good and quality!
Many thanks to the Pension and staff

We booked this hotel for our honeymoon, expecting luxury, but it turned into a disaster.

Our superior room was full of mosquitos, entering through a poorly sealed door. The hotel offered a downgrade to a cheaper room without an outdoor bathroom and refused to refund the difference. Mosquito nets were only in rooms costing €200 more per night. They reluctantly sprayed the room after we insisted.

The balcony door was another issue—it was so old that we got trapped outside. When maintenance arrived after over an hour, I mentioned the door wasn’t tight and let insects in. The response? “Doors never close properly anywhere; it’s normal for insects to come inside.” Absolutely ridiculous.

The worst part? I woke up in the middle of the night to a huge cockroach crawling on my face. It disappeared through a gap in the wall, and I couldn’t sleep afterward.

Although the food was decent, the overall experience was unacceptable. Management didn’t offer any apology or compensation.

This place is far from a true 5-star resort. Save your money and book somewhere else!

Like a number of other people have said the hotel is in a great location right on the beach with a very nice swimming pool. The rooms are built into the hillside and are very private, however, they are very dark inside. Even with all the lights on it is difficult to see the remote control for the TV. We stayed for 7 nights and on one occasion our room floor wasn’t swept for 3 days and the waste bin not emptied for 2 days. Towels were not replaced, shampoo and shower gel not replenished and tea bags not replaced. We phoned reception and they sent someone to correct the situation but in a hotel of this quality you shouldn’t have to. We were on a full board package and had access to the buffet each night where the quality of food was pretty poor. When we arrived we told that we could eat in the a la carte restaurant and we would get a 10% discount which we informed by someone else that it would be 20%. The cost of the buffet was 1,000 rupee which we had effectively already paid. In the other restaurant there was a 4 course set menu for 750 rupees. If you apply 20% discount that brings the price down to 600 which then means we are effectively paying 1,600 for a meal costing 750!! One lunch time we waited 1 hour and 15 minutes for a Caesar salad. When it arrived I said that it must take a lot of time and skill to shred a lettuce and grate some Parmesan. The waiter smiled and said it does. He then offered to not charge us for desert until I pointed out we were on full board and already paid for it so he wasn’t giving us anything. His response was to say oh yes and walk away laughing. One night reception rang and woke us up. After getting out of bed to answer the phone they asked us to turn the sound down on the TV as we were disturbing our neighbours!! In general the service is bad and the staff rude. If this was the only hotel in the Seychelles I wouldn’t stay here.

This luxurious hotel provides excellent service in an enchanting setting. You will be welcomed warmly and professionally. Its Charming Villas and its magnificent spa, immersed in the vegetation on the hillside, offer an exceptional panoramic view of the neighboring islands.

The sumptuous Charming Villas (70m2) have a large terrace and an outdoor bathroom, sensitive soul refrain because it is not certain that you will be alone when taking your shower 😃 positive experience and to be repeated .

The “Santosha” restaurant, by the sea, serves breakfast and evening meals in the form of copious themed buffets. The à la carte restaurant “Le Combava” offers Mediterranean dishes with Creole and Asian accents for lunch and dinner. The “L’Alambic” bar is located on the terrace. A pool bar is also available and what can we say about the magnificent infinity pool with a view of the Indian Ocean which reveals its range of colors throughout the day.
Sunset accompanied by a cocktail makes this hotel unique in La Digue.
Comfortably equipped beach and swimming pool.

Take the time to visit La Digue by bike, a path leads to “L’Union Plantation Reserve”. A modest entrance fee entitles you to a walk or bicycle ride between coconut trees and vanilla vines in an old plantation atmosphere. After a few hundred meters, the trail arrives at Anse Source d’Argent. This beach is renowned for being the most photographed in the world. The great attraction of this site is the large granite rocks that fell from the mountain onto the beach.

My wife and I stayed 3 days at the Domaine de l’Orangerie.
In terms of quality and price, we do not recommend the hotel.
The rooms are unfortunately not at all in the Seychelles theme with LEDs everywhere on the luminous ceiling (we do not find the typical side apart from the bathroom which overlooks the outside).
In the restaurant (breakfast and evening buffet) the staff is clearly not trained, there are around ten of them walking 400 steps around the tables. We are disturbed every 2 minutes by “everything is fine/it’s good/etc…”. As soon as the last mouthful is finished, they jump on us to get rid of us. In short, extremely annoying and disruptive during meals.
One evening a music group played, it was amateurish with many ditches featuring the pianist, all very loud during the meal...
For my part, we are not at all satisfied with the quality-price ratio.

We stayed a few nights in this resort and it looks good at the entrance, the pool area is very impressive and beautiful for breakfast and sunset, you can take wonderful photographs. It is convenient because it is close to the docking port and the only town on the island, being able to move around by bicycle is truly comfortable. The gardens and forest within which the rooms and the actual resort are located are beautiful. We had a room with a balcony that looked right out onto the forest and enjoyed birdsong and wind noise during the day. The outdoor bathroom was a nice surprise and convenience. It's very clean and serviced twice a day, room service really good. On the contrary, the catering, despite having a variety of buffets and welcoming several people at the same time, was a semi-disaster because everything that requires service is lacking and absent. In a room with hundreds of seats there were barely two people who had to take care of drinks and clearing the table, creating several delays and inefficiencies. The quality of the food was good but not perfect. The management of the golf carts to go to and from the rooms in the forest is very convenient but in peak moments difficult to coordinate, the reception very absent in service and without any advice for visiting the island, the management of beach towels with membership cards giving and taking back is chaotic because it is left to the good faith of customers at many moments of the day. The most sore point, however, is the quality of sleep because we stayed for 3 nights and in none of these we were able to fall asleep before 1am due to the music at the port, for the mid-August festival. On the night of the 14th our bed was shaking because the volume of the music was so loud. They must warn that there is this festival, because sleep has been irreparably compromised.

I would like to point out that this is the 3rd time we have been guests of this structure, unfortunately this no longer corresponds to our last visit in 2018.
We booked a Villa de Charme for 5 nights, we were assigned number 228, a smelly villa, worn out to the extreme and also noisy due to the adjacent villas being renovated, we complained and after some insistence we managed to get it for the day next another villa 220, this one was ok,
Service in general poor, at breakfast the 2 waiters are very kind but since there are only 2 of them who have to welcome, serve customers as well as clear the table, unfortunately they cannot satisfy all customers!
The quality of the buffets for both breakfast and dinner is mediocre, while at the Combava a la carte restaurant both the presentation and the quality of the dishes are very good.
Service, courtesy and availability at the reception to be reviewed....
A very positive note is the beauty of the structure and the cleanliness in general.

Unfortunately the quality/price no longer corresponds to previous years, consequently we will not recommend it to our relatives, friends and acquaintances.

I was recommended this establishment but I think there were a lot of changes before our arrival

Very average reception and service, welcome by one person for 12 new arrivals to make you wait 1 hour and just explain to you where the restaurant and the 3 bars are, for the rest you manage.

Accessible day at the swimming pool for those who want to go outside for 700 rupilles or around €50, so more space during the day for our pigeon customers...

Very average breakfast, the pastries from the day before will be reserved, the same for dinner, buffet service, rather good but not varied and you will often find leftovers from the day before. Very friendly staff at the restaurant but the hygiene is really not up to standard for such an establishment.

All day long, heavy work creates infernal noise pollution (flex, chisel hammer, etc.) forcing you to leave the premises.

Charming villa is very good with a beautiful view.

We stayed 4 nights at 800€ per night, a shame for such service.

When we left, not even a smile and a goodbye, a shame………

In comparison, we stayed at Constance Lemuria in Pralin and Contance Ephelia in Mahé for around €600 per night with exceptional surroundings and service.

The dike is really a very beautiful destination and you will find much better and much less expensive establishments

Alternatively, there are various kind of bikes you can rent near the hotel, like tandems or tricyles, which might easier to drive.

We only booked breakfast. But the hotel offers buffet or à la carte possibilities. We have tried both.

Hi. The nearest airport is on Praslin, which means a short ferry ride (about 20 mins) and then about another 20 mins with a car. If you need to get to the International Airport on Mahé you can also take the ferry and then a car from the jetty to the airport. I know that the hotel can arrange for a driver to wait for you at the jetties but I‘m not sure they can book the ferry tickets for you. Best to just ask them directly. If you have the cash you can book helicopter transfers between the islands through ZilAir, which can save you a ton of time.
Dear Guest, We thank you for your message. Catamaran tours are not included in the daily rate. Please approach your agency, your operator or your local DMC for rates. Tours can also be organized upon arrival. The half board rate includes the accommodation + breakfast + dinner + return jetty transfers. There is no gym in the hotel. Trust this helps, we look forward to hear from you, Best regards, Le Domaine de L'Orangeraie team
