Kurumba Island has many things to offer to both young and old. Surrounded by the pristine blue waters of the Indian Ocean and an inhouse reef, it has cottages and bungalows . No water villas here, due to proximity to the airport I think. It has snorkeling, kayaking, boat rides and a beautiful pool. The quay and pier with fish playing are also nice places to chill by the Sea.
Stayed over Christmas for 8 days, family of 4 with teens in a Beach Villa on Dine Around All Inclusive. All I can say is Wow! Fabulous hotel in every regard Firstly the transfer from the airport is a breeze, 10 min by large speedboat straight outside the airport, check in was a breeze and our room was available early which was great as we arrived in the morning. The Beach Villa is an excellent size, the website photos and floor plan does not do it justice. Plenty of space, comfy beds and right on the beach. All comforts included, generous bathroom with a jacuzzi outside, brilliant. Nice minibar and plenty of complementary tea, coffee, cookies. The food was superb, we ate at the main restaurant, cafe, Japanese, Thai, Indian and the contemporary restaurant Thila, all delicious. The Xmas Eve gala was amazing, so much choice for food, and fantastic decorations. The main bar is also great, live music every night and stellar service. The All Inclusive drink options are massive, 30 odd cocktails, wine choices and beers, never seen such a variety of free drinks included. The beach bars are also great with plenty to choose from The staff are superb, all very attentive and friendly, professional and they really make the resort special. On talking to them it's clear they are well looked after and treated very well which shines through in their customer service The snorkeling around the island is superb, clear water with a huge variety of fish and creatures to watch. Small sharks swim nearby as do rays and turtles, it's safe for smaller kids inside the artificial breakwaters and well worth venturing outside these if you are a confident swimmer. We did a scuba dive session with Eurodivers on site and this was also excellent, if a little expensive, very competent staff and we had a great experience. We got a late checkout on our last day which was brilliant and the return trip to the airport was quick and efficient. The only downsides were the aircraft noise from the airport which is pretty constant during the day, however you soon get used to it, and the view of Male from the beach outside our room (720). Just turn your sun lounger left and you've got a clear view. Overall we all had a fantastic holiday at Kurumba, would highly recommend the resort, especially if you are travelling a long way to get to the Maldives.…
Our first trip to Maldives and we chose kurumba because of its child friendliness and offcourse trip advisor reviews. OMG for the first time I enjoyed a vacation to the hilt..my mind grew so blank and peaceful ...it's amazing..snorkelling everyday through the reefs..swimming with reef sharks, coloured fish anytime u want just did not allow us to get out of the water..the Two beach bars were amazing..our room 172 facing the sea just there was bliss..the open outdoor shower area was so cool..I just loved the place and this was my 40th birthday so OMG I have returned totally relaxed..and wow cleaning the room twice a day ..it's amazing..the room always felt newly made.. kurumba is expensive and I wish they reduce rates a bit and oh I wish the airport will shut down at night but you will find value for every penny spent..oh yes for kids the majaa kids area has some water game activity from 3 to 4pm and my boys just loved that..Go stay at kurumba and u will be forced to keep coming back for every holiday..because after This experience holidays won't be the same anymore..love u kurumba…
The hotel is veery nice and the bungalows facing the beach are totally recommend it! The service from the hotel was excellent! I recommend also to try each restaurant they have, very good food. Not soo good: hearing the planes all the time from Malé.
We enjoyed our short stay at Kurumba. Buggy driver Khan was very good, together with others in reception Ayesha, Fariza and many others. Half board was worth it. Overall service was good. Resort is very close to Male. The beach and water in front of the unit was very inviting and pleasant.
"Rooms near Athiribar 1 & 2 have an awesome view with large space of corel area which is very safe for non-swimmers. 6 snorkeling points."Read full review
