Lakefront Inn, spacious studio rooms. All guest rooms are recently renovated and feature private baths, in- room coffee, cable TV, free Wi-Fi, A/C, one queen bed, refrigerator, and microwave. We also have kitchenettes and adjoining rooms. All guest rooms are non-smoking.
While boating on Conesus Lake, we docked at the Beachcomber for snacks and beverages. Menu is good size, appetizers to lunch/dinner. Everything was very good! We've been there before & I'm sure we'll stop again.

Years ago, the Beachcomber was a 'fancy spot' for dinner and wedding receptions. (The bridal party could stay at the facility.) It has become quite 'lakefront casual' now but nicely done. The owner is on the premises overseeing the wait staff and facilities and stopped by our table to talk of our former experiences. The cocktails were well made and the food was excellent. Returning to the Beachcomber was a treat.

I'll start with the food! My rating on this review of "Very Good" is for the food at The Beachcomber. The Beachcomber is mainly a lakeside restaurant with two bars, one in the restaurant and a separate bar by the water. I have been there twice and both times the food was very good. The highlight of dining here is definitely sitting outside on a nice warm evening and enjoying the view of the lake and the atmosphere of a breeze coming off the lake and the live music playing in the distance. It appears to be a popular place for people staying on Lake Conesus to visit for dinner.
The waitresses are very friendly and attentive. Just the right amount of attentive - there when you want them but not hovering. They offer a menu with a nice variety of choices and good size portions. Seafood seems to be their speciality. My dinner companion had a fish sandwich and said it was delicious. I chose mac and cheese with breaded fried chicken cutlet on top. The mac and cheese was above average and the cutlet was cooked to perfection. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. On my first visit I had a seafood combo meal which was very good as did a friend I dined with and she was also quite happy with her meal. We shared the Brussel Sprouts and they were very good!
We dined inside in the restaurant on the second visit because it was a cold and rainy Fall night. the restaurant was very cozy and homey feeling with a wonderful view of the lake. We enjoyed the atmosphere inside as well. When we arrived there weren't many people but when we left it was packed. I have to say all the food I saw others eating on the way out looked fabulous.
The Beachcomber has four rooms they rent for overnight guests. The rooms are small but perfect for a place to rest your head and do whatever brings you to Lake Conesus, NY. the next day. I stayed overnight on both visits. Both rooms were tastefully renovated and I loved that the floors were wood with no carpet and looked shiny clean.
On the first stay, in July, the bed was comfortable and they supplied a small refrigerator, table and chairs and of course a television (We were in room #3). The room had a very small bathroom and tiny shower that had mold in it which was not very appealing, to say the least.
On the second visit, I mentioned this when I booked the room and requested that the shower be mold-free and it was. The second stay was a little larger room (Room #2). We asked for an additional blow-up bed and they said it would be queen-size but when we arrived it was a single and not a very firm blow-up bed. In the morning, my friend was sleeping about an inch off the floor - it had deflated so much. This room was a little larger and had a small kitchen corner in the room with a sink, refrigerator, two cooking burners and cupboards with plates and pots and pans. There was a dresser, TV, and microwave. The shower was larger than the first but not large - average I would say.
I would rate the rooms as "Average" because of the size. I would stay there again mostly because the price was reasonable and the bed was comfortable. The rooms are not fancy or very large but nicely appointed and for the most part very clean. The draw here is definitely the FOOD! and of course the dining atmosphere.

Decided on The Beachcomber based on the reviews, location and amenities (i.e., onsite restaurant and lake front property) and the super friendly correspondence with the owner prior to arriving. A little unexpected turn of events made it that the restaurant was closed, but Mary Alice did her best to make our stay enjoyable. A bonfire was lit when we arrive back from dinner our last night there. Great recommendations were given on where to eat in the area. The Ember Woodfire Grill in Livonia was excellent! The seasonable boaters that came on and off the water were friendly as well. It was probably a blessing that the restaurant was closed because I have no idea where we would have parked if we had gone out for the evening.
At first, I was surprised how close to the road the door to the rooms were, but got over it. For the price paid, I would have expected a better mattress. It made sleeping very difficult. It was incredibly worn. The furniture was very outdated as well, but if it's clean, that is what matters.
Overall, we had a great time. If the restaurant is open and you love the nightlife, you would probably like the Beachcomber.
Mary Alice is delightful!

Best place for a fun getaway....great food (5 star!) , great atmosphere! We come here as often as we can...always greeted by friendly staff and given excellent service. Cant say enough about the chef's food...from the yummy seafood chowder to the perfectly cooked steaks and seafood. Live music and fun venue for a perfect time away from home!

Service, food and drinks all good. The outside bar is busy with views of the lake and beach volley ball. Chose to set outside instead on in the restaurant. Only problem was the bugs - lots flying around while eating and several in our party were bitten many times - almost like sand flea bites. Bring your bug spray or eat inside!.

This property was just taken over and the new owners have done a wonderful job with the restaurant. Not sure about the lodging aspect of it, but the dinner we had was wonderful. The 3 of us had different meals from steak, seafood, and pasta. Each dish was prepared to the tee, excellent presentations and the taste of each was delicious. Would highly recommend, especially for the ambiance. It is located right on Conesus Lake with wonderful views of the water

Grew up on Conesus Lake at property my Grandfather owned until 1993 when my Parents took it over and had need to finally sell in Jan. 2016. I would love to keep the Beachcomber a secret, but in good faith I won't. Large room with a wonderful view of the South end of Conesus Lake on the west side where you will rise with the sun, and it is true you will see 'diamonds dancing on the water'. There is a lot to see and do in the area of the finger lakes. For me, to sit in the sun and smell the lake breeze is all I needed. Thank you for keeping this historic building alive and well!

I have stayed at the Beachcomer, twice the first time was not too bad. The second time well, you know there is music, so what but then there was a very drunk couple in the room next to ours, horrible, loud, foul mouth individuals, mind you we paid "holiday" price even though the holiday was being celebrated the weekend before but I get business. No real place to park that you would feel safe walking due to the high traffic. You would think if someone is renting a room at over a 100.00 a pop, they would have a safe place to unload, but nope, drinkers before roomers I guess lol. The owner was nice but the bartenders did not give me a second look, for about 30 minutes, once they learned I was there to pick up the key and sign the papers, but if I was ordering alcohol, they would have been right on that. Just did not seem like the same place I stayed at the first time around. RIT hotel the next time around.
