Meticulous Attention to Detail; Totally Devoted Staff; Amazing Food

Kadizora is one of the only 100% locally owned and staffed lodges in the Okavango Delta. About as ‘green’ as you can get with this amount of luxury. You feel the love from the moment you arrive and are greeted by the staff singing a 'native' welcome song. You are being welcomed to their neighborhood! After a cool drink in the “lobby” (check out the picture to really understand), you are escorted to your room. Spoiler Alert: Your room is a tent! Well apportioned and spacious, there is a welcome note on your bed spelled out with reeds. The bed was as fantastic as some of the most luxurious hotels I’ve stayed in. The bathroom was clean, very well stocked with the same ‘stuff’ you’d expect from a top tier place.

Our first meal was served around the fireplace, which they do, weather permitting. The staff were doting and ever attentive. OK, let’s face it, nobody is going to give a Michalen 5 star rating to a kitchen that is basically in a tent. But what the staff cook up is extraordinary. Locally sourced food, but none of the crazy exotic stuff that you’re afraid to eat. Fresh baked goods that are literally straight from the oven. The wine and liquor offerings are totally acceptable. Don’t eat too much for breakfast since the “snacks” they bring to you in the field, seemed to always be plentiful, and sometimes even hot from the oven. When you get back from a day in the dust, rain and dirt, you are greeted by staff with a warm moist towel, and a drink. And then you start the routine all over.

When we were in the game ‘reserves’ in Kruger area, I felt a bit like being in Disney World. It did feel real. Here it didn’t feel real; It was legit real. The daily game drives were a fascinating course in geology, history and wildlife. I have no idea how the drivers and trackers find what they do, but being local, they all grew up here. It was amazing how much there is to know about, well, everything. Our driver even had binoculars and field books. He had such patience with our endless questions. The staff made tremendous effort for us to see as many animals as possible. Once more, we didn’t feel like tourists, but like out of town guests visiting family. One final note: If you are invited to go home to the village with the staff, jump at it.

Sitting around the firepit in the evening with the staff, listening to the hippos not too far away, I would smoke a cigar, drink a whiskey, and hear about local families and growing up in such an amazing country.

I visit Africa in general often just for fun/hobby purposes, and this was my first time staying here at Kadizora… but definitely not my last! I’m actually going back to Botswana again in July and so booking this place again as well as probably one of their sister properties (Saguni Lodge) I just LOVED it here!! I used Mack Air to get here, it’s very scenic coming in and out of the delta. The location of Kadizora is just stunning, and the accommodations were beautiful… everything you’d expect for a true Out of Africa style experience! A real highlight were the camp managers Greg & Sue who were so genuine and caring, they felt like old friends! They joined us at dinner each night and I loved talking with and getting to know them. They also have two adorable and well behaved Dachshunds, named Dougie and Cecil, that were so sweet and made it feel like home as I was missing my little guy Buddy back in Florida. My guide OC who took me on the game drives each day was incredibly knowledgeable and I learned so much from him. I really enjoyed my time with him. The food was just amazing- so fresh, I felt healthier from eating there! Sue is a chef I believe and she oversees the meals, which were delicious every single time. The whole camp staff were so kind and attentive, and a real pleasure to interact with. The accommodations are beautiful and well maintained, with beautiful views as the location is just spectacular… this is one of those rare gems I’ve found in my travels that just exceeds all expectations! I even saw elephants while just laying in my bed! I think anyone going to the Okavango Delta NEEDS to plan at least a few nights at Kadizora Camp… trust me, you’ll be glad you did! :)

I would love to describe my awesome trip to Kadizora and highly, highly recommend it as a destination for anyone planning a memorable trip to the Delta. Upon arrival we were welcomed with an amazing song by the extremely friendly staff and provided with warm towels to wipe of the grime of our trip to the camp. Our host and hostess Greg and Sue welcomed us into the camp and the staff swiftly assisted with taking our luggage to our allocated tents which to say were luxurious and spotlessly clean would be underating them. We were taken on game drive by very friendly and knowledgeable Sparks and Pat, who showed us the most amazing game from extremely rare African Dogs, Sable, to Hyena, all the big cats and many many magnificent animal sightings. Four lavish meals were provide a day, breakfast, tea, lunch, high tea and dinner all served by the wonderful and entertaining ladies working in the kitchen and serving meals and amusing us with odd anecdotes and riddles. One of the highlights of the meals was the variety, which included a mixture of local dishes such as lamb sea and many other tasty treats such as brinjal fritters as well as delicious relishes such as smoked marula, ginger and chilli jam. I must not omit to mention the friendly barman who makes sure you are served you drinks promptly in the evenings. High Tea was a treat with a different sweet and savoury bake everyday. Breakfast or sundowners were provided for whichever time of day you chose to go on your chosen excursion - one thing can be said for this camp is you will not go hungry! Mokoro (traditional canoe) rides and boat rides are another highlight of the trip where the amazing waterside life of the Delta are on full view particularly the hippos and smiling crocodiles. As with the Game Guides the Mokoro and Boat guides are also extremely welcoming and knowledgeable. The evenings were spent around the lovely Boma fire and hoping for a visit from a young Bull Elephant in search of juicy Maroelas. Once you retire to your room you will still hear a host of wildlife such as lions, hippos, baboons in the distance and the musical chirping of insect life - a sound definitely in short supply in big city life!
Greg and Sue are a warm and friendly host and hostess and always there to give assistance and accommodate their guests needs which leads to the the camp being run efficiently and making it an extremely inviting destination for any traveller. I highly recommend Kadizora as a must visit for anyone planning a trip to the Delta - you will not regret it

Kadizora is reached via an appromatly 45 min flight in a Cessna 208B and a short drive in an open game drive vehicle. You are beeing met by your guide, who will look after you during your stay, at the airstrip and welcomed by the whole staff with a lovely song upon arrival at the camp. The tents are really spacious with all amenities and a very comfortable bed.. Everything is tidy and spotlessly clean. There are also an outside bathtub and shower. Since the lodge is eco friendly and running on solar there is no aircon but the large fan makes easlly up for that since the tent can be opened with just a screening to one side.
The bar area, where you will be served a delicious welcome drink of appletiser, cola tonic and angostura, is overlooking the delta, so you can hear all the sounds of the african wild while relaxing and sipping your evening drink before dinner. Wifi reception there is good giving you the opportunity to do your emails and whatsapps. This is also a good spot to chat to the other guests from all over the world sharing your bush stories. Food is served around the fire place at private tables. Its is good and plentyful, since there is breakfast, lunch, high tea and dinner, apart from a stop with home made cookies and snacks on every game drive.
Game viewing is superb. TwoBoys is a really good and knowlegable guide with a lovely quiet humor. He usally finds the most interesting sightings before everyone else does. You will be really lucky to get him as your guide. Other than in the greater Kruger Area in South Africa you will have to cover a much large area on your drives so they can last easily five hours at a time. But this is absolutely no setback since the drives are always very special indeed.
For birdwatching and seeing hippos really up close take the afternoon sundowner boatride on the nearby okanvango sidearm. You won‘t regret ist!
Sue and Matthew are great chefs and feeding you all to well. And I have to thank Matthew for the stargazing and all the other wonderfull adventures, which mad the trip so special.
Sue and Greg are great hosts and made our stay very enjoyable. Thank you all. Hope to see you again next year.

We spent 3 nights at the Camp, and loved every minute. Our guide, Sparks, was so knowledgeable and fun. We appreciated the amenities like laundry service, and the outdoor bathtub was incredibly refreshing after the morning game drives. The food was amazing and imaginative. The beds didn’t have mosquito netting, and though mosquitoes weren’t terrible, a net might have been helpful. We’d highly recommend this first-rate site.

We had an absolutely AMAZING stay at Kadizora Camp. I visited with my 2 sisters for my birthday and the experience was top notch from start to finish. The staff was so kind and friendly—we felt like family immediately and were so well taken care of. I thought the camp was going to be a bit rustic/basic (since it was so affordable) but it was actually really nice. The tented rooms definitely had a luxury feel and the outdoor bathtub was a great touch! The common areas were extremely pleasant to hang out in and offered amazing sunrise/sunset views. There is even a small pool that you could take advantage of when warm. The FOOD was incredible. We are vegetarian and enjoyed every meal so much (pretty sure we gained 5 pounds in 3 days haha). They even made me a birthday cake! We loved our guide and tracker, Sparks & Patrick. We’re still in awe of some of the animals they found for us. TWO different leopards in ONE morning! Plus baby hyenas, two male lions with a buffalo kill, tons of elephant, giraffe, zebra, warthog, etc. And the husband/wife manager couple Greg & Sue were the best as well. I felt like we left with many new friends! The welcome song & goodbye song also left us with huge smiles on our faces. It was my sisters first time on safari and Kadizora definitely made it a memorable one!!! I would go back here in a heartbeat and recommend it to anyone.

Kadizora is a beautiful atmospheric bush camp and has kept its character as a rustic but very comfortable safari experience. The tents are luxurious and have everything needed for a comfortable stay. The location is remote and the animal sightings spectacular. Our guide Sparks was knowledgable, polite and nothing too much trouble. The food and service in the camp excellent. The managers Greg and Sue could not have been more helpful and sociable. This is the twelfth camp we have visited in the Delta and its up there with the best. We will definitely return. Getting there post Covid could not have been more seamless from arrival in Botswana through immigration and to the small bush flight to the camp. No hassle at any stage. (One piece of advice is to have paper copies of any documents as well as on your phone)

This was our very first trip to Africa and Kadizora was our very first safari camp experience. We didn't really have expectations, we just didn't know what to expect. After leaving Kadizora Camp, we went to another camp in the Delta so it was nice to be able to see the differences to compare.

Hands down our very favorite part of was Navas our guide during our stay here. He was so kind and we really enjoyed watching him do what he loves.... find and study the animals. We were so lucky and got to see so much wild life. It really just blew us away! I loved to challenge him to find different things and he always delivered!

The rest of the staff was fantastic and really made us feel at home. The food was great and the views were out of this world! My daughter and I loved to hang out in the pool on hot afternoons and watch the elephants in the distance and the wart hogs run around the camp.

Although I loved the rustic feel of the tents at this camp I would have felt better I think with a mosquito net around our bed. The first night was a bit rough with bugs. We quickly learned to spray around our bed before dinner and keep lights off in the main room. I wish we had been told that the first day. We also had 2 teenagers that were placed in a tent pretty far from ours. We had no wifi in our tents so no way to contact them and you can't leave your tents without a guide at night. This made for a rough night for this worried mom. BUT our kids did great, much better than I did! So it made us really proud of them. They can do hard things! I just wish we had been located a little closer to one another to make me feel more at ease.

We have been home from our 2 week trip to Southern Africa for 3 days now. I keep looking at all our pictures and I can't stop crying. It was a trip of a lifetime for us and Kadizora Camp will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

Kadizora camp was amazing. We have zero complaints. The food was amazing. The rooms were awesome. The animal sightings were great. We did off to take the helicopter ride over the Delta, which is pricey, but extremely worth it. Everything about kadizora was great is very peaceful and relaxing everything was well taken care of. We felt very safe and had an amazing amount of fun of the three nights we stay there, we wish we could’ve stayed longer, but we did have to return home. Greg and Sue were great hosts and their employees are amazing and very attentive and helpful with everything.

We had a great stay at Kadizora and would recommend.
There was Wi-Fi in the communal areas which was fast.
Our room was very large, clean and well designed with hot water in the shower.
Staff were all friendly and helpful. Greg (manager) was organised and efficient.
Laundry service included was a bonus.
Lunches and dinners were delicious.
The cooked breakfast if you weren’t going out on an early game drive was very good.
Early morning breakfast: could improve by providing some fruit eg banana and increase volume of porridge and chopped fruit as we like to eat once we awake even if it’s early, as otherwise waiting to eat lunch is a very long time.
Suggestions for improvement: mosquito net over the bed to avoid any animals/ insects disturbing in the night while trying to sleep. And adding a latch to the inside of the bedroom door to help feel a bit safer/ relaxed at night when trying to sleep and could hear animals roaming past and there were strong winds banging the door.
Location is nice and isolated. Lots of game drives and boat trips.
There are also elephants and hippos close to rooms that you could watch which was really nice.
Our guide Two Boy was very good, with a positive attitude and trying to spot animals.
Would definitely stay again.

The standard tents are comfortable meru tents with an ensuite shower, basin and toilet. They do not have a bath and are smaller than the luxury tents that are a lot larger and have an indoor bath or a bath on the stoep outside.

I never saw a "luxury" tent so can't tell you but our standard was quite large and comfortable, the bathroom had two sinks and a good shower. I wouldn't have asked for anything more.
