I stayed at Jumbo Junction in December 2020. I spent about half my time staying at the camp, and the rest on a mobile safari in the Okavango Delta hosted by Jumbo Junction's guide, Two Boy. The lodge is very comfortable, and the staff is very friendly and always eager to help. The food is simple and delicious. I look forward to visiting again in winter to see the delta in flood.
my husband and i had a wonderful trip. we were taken by boat on a 1 and 1/2 hour trip form Guma lagoon to Seronga where we were met and drove 22 kms to the jumbo junction cape. the staff were all extremely friendly and pleasant and the situation of the camp is wonderful, on the edge of the water we took a two mokoro trips in the lagoon just close to the camp and walked on nearby islands a highlight was the game drive. This involves a boat trip to a big island where we met a game drive vehicle the game and birds were plentiful and the environment pristine the food was excellent and made with great care I highly recommend the camp it is possible to reach jumbo junction by 4 x 4 vehicle from the ferry at Shakawe
The owner organized a safari for us near his lodge. Great professionalism of the guides is a beautiful day spent in the bush !!!! The lodge is well organized and very pleasant, excellent service with great attention to customers. Thanks a lot !
Jumbo Junction is located about 5kms outside of Gunotsoga village, very easy to find - just keep driving along the main gravel road from the Mohembo Ferry. Greg and Sue, the camp managers, kept in touch during my drive and I knew that I would be in good hands for the rest of my stay. I spent 4 nights in one of the chalets at Jumbo Junction. The chalet was spacious, very clean with extra blankets for the winter chill. Greg and Sue made the effort to ensure I was comfortable but also gave me space and time to take in the beautiful delta! I did game drives and mokoro rides which Greg and the guides - Two Boy, Baruti, Hustler and Joy- organised with great precision. The guides were knowledgeable, experienced and made me feel comfortable and safe even during the scary moments like when we approached a pod of hippos sunbathing during our mokoro ride or when we watched 2 male lions 15 meters away. They went above and beyond to ensure I saw all the animals on my bucket list and indeed, I saw all of them! The food was amazing- soulful and thoughtful 3 course meals and the cakes during high tea were absolutely delicious. I went to bed with food babies each night and only my tight jeans were complaining. I randomly made a comment about craving ice-cream and next supper, Sue had made a rich, delicious vanilla ice-cream for dessert- an example of the personal touches and thoughtfulness by the camp managers! Thank you to all staff at JJ! Great experience and definitely worth a visit! Overall, 5 star treatment, food and activities!…
We had amazing welcome song by the staff and the service was phenomenal. It was my birthday and the staff put a lot of attention to details, arranging the rooms and the birthday cake. It's truly a special place. The game drive was also very good, our guide Two boy was good fun and we saw lots of animals, a lot less touristy compare to other places. I thoroughly enjoy the mokoro too. A very memorable experience.
