This was our fourth trip to Africa. We spent two nights in Pompom and it has been an amazing game viewing experience.
The tented camp is well organized and the main deck faces a lagoon that attracts many animals. Baboons and monkeys roam freely. The wiew from the tent's porch is as beautiful.
Electricity works 24 hours, fan, usb ports available in tent while the charging station is in the main lobby. Insects repellent available in room.
The tents are under large trees but the temperature inside during the early hours of the afternoon was high, while evenings and nights were cool and very pleasant. The pool needs improvement.
The staff was amazing! The food tasty, fresh a various.
Our guide Thabo and the tracker Sunday made every game drive simply unforgettable. Leopards and lions with and without cubs, elephants, giraffes, hippos. Thabo always found the best spot to take pictures and look at the wildlife.
We also enjoyed the Mokoro and want to thank Clifford for being our "gondoliere" and giving us lots of information.
They also surprised us with a romantic dinner in our tent!
We brought home unforgettable memories.

Just returned from a two week, four camp safari in Zimbabwe and Botswana. While we had a great time at all camps Pom Pom in the Okavango Delta was truly the highlight point of our trip. The accommodations were superb, the food was delicious, the staff was so hospitable we felt like we were guests in their home. Our guide NT and tracker, Action, made the perfect pair. We saw the big five twice, wild roaming rhino, dens of lions with cubs, ostriches, painted dogs, a herd of over 100 zebra and many other animals. Beautiful sunrises and happy hour game drive sunsets added to our delight. What really differentiated Pom Pom from the other safari camps was our guide was able to go where the tracker saw animals and he had the ability to drive anywhere, and did. At other camps where the guides drove into the national parks, the guides are limited to driving designated trails and while we saw a good variety of animals at other camps, our experience at Pom Pom was superior. We were a family party of seven, ages ranging from 8 to 78 and everyone had a fabulous time. All of the staff gave extra attention to my grandson making this an excellent family destination and all three generations were adequately accommodated. Pom Pom is operated by Kwando Safaris and they operate several other concessions in the Okavango Delta. While I have not personally visited the other Kwando camps, the reviews are exceptional and I have spoken with guides that have been to the different camps. Make your reservations soon, the world is changing rapidly and this is one of the great remaining wilderness’s. I would be remiss if I didn’t give a shout out to my travel agent Marjanna at Great Expectations for sending us to Pom Pom.

I visited Pom Pom in September 2021 and again just a couple of weeks ago, March 2022. On both visits I was warmly welcomed by the staff, I had great guides and trackers, and enjoyed amazing sightings.

This was my 8th overall trip to Africa, and 6th to Botswana (my favorite country!), and Pom Pom has become my favorite camp to stay at.

On both of my visits, the camp managers were Wabone and Phet, and when I visited in March they both remembered me from my September visit. Wabone even remembered that I'd asked for a mosquito net in Sept, so she had one put in my room without me even asking. Even my housekeeper remembered me! As far as camp managers go, you can't ask for anything more than Wabone and Phet, they are simply the best.

The camp itself is beautiful, with a nice water hole out back that is just surrounded by wildlife all day (impalas, red lechwe, sometimes baboons, African fish eagles, kingfishers, hippos perhaps, crocodiles, and elephants regularly). You can sit at camp and just enjoy the peaceful visits of all these wonderful animals. Of course the rooms are nice and the food is delicious and plentiful. But honestly I don't spend very much time fussing over that stuff. If you need polished marble floors and a celebrity chef, you're going to Africa for the wrong reasons. Go for the wild and the nature that you can't get anywhere else.

As far as the wild and the nature go, Pom Pom is at the top. Did I mention that I could hear hyenas calling throughout the night, every night that I was there? You are in the wild at Pom Pom, which for me is unbeatable. I've had great luck with leopards there, which is in no small part due to the tracker I had on both of my visits, Sunday. Oh and Sunday remembered me as well! He tracked for me in September and remembered me when I saw him on this recent visit. On my last day of this visit, he tracked and found not one, but two male leopards on the same morning game drive. I can tell you from experience, successful tracks like that are not common, so tracking two in one drive?? Incredible. Sunday is one of the best, and if you are lucky to get him as your tracker, I can tell you with confidence that if there is something out there to find, Sunday will find it!

On the subject of leopards, if those are one of your favorites (why wouldn't they be?) then Pom Pom is a great camp at the moment. I've seen 5 different leopards there across both of my visits, and had multiple sightings of a few of them, amounting to some of the best leopard sightings I've ever had.

I also want to point out that my guides (Dalton in September and Thabo this March) were excellent. Both were friendly, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic, and worked hard with Sunday to find everything they could possibly find.

Can't wait to go back!

Sometimes even if not all of the details of your trip are excellent, the "soul" of the places you visit can compensate this and you smile, when remembering it.
Pom Pom is the FRIENDLIEST camp in the Delta (It was our 15-th safari in Africa and fourth in Okavango) trust us !
And ALL other moments was fantastic. Good rooms with the view of the Hippos, elephants and 4-5 types of antelopes, including jumping Red Lechwes from your own balcony, delicious food and wine, well trained staff, leading by positive open minding manager Pat. The evening fire and conversations about last day activities under the canopy of giant tree, where the resident genet play in the evening we will remember forever!
and of course serious Look (our guide) and mostly smiling trekker Sunday did fantastic job! Wildlife viewing was exceptional. Leopards during the day and in the night?, on the ground and on the tree, hunting and sleeping with the kill !
A pack of wild dogs with 15 puppies, whom the feed after return from hunting!
The place is a paradise for birdwatchers - we saw a couple of big owls, birds of prey and fish eagle for 10 meters from the car. Night drives was magic and first time was able to make a clear picture of elusive honey badger!
All our dreams was fulfilled and even excessed.
Thank you. From Russia with Love

This was our 3rd visit to Botswana and the 10th in Africa South of Equator. Pom Pom was a very well organized operation in such a remote place! During our stay of 4 days, everything worked like a clock The tents were comfortable, clean, well located (under an old tree that provides a welcome shadow during the early afternoon). The bush and the lagoons were a very beautiful landscape, attracting a lot of animals (mammals, birds, etc.). By the sun set there was many birds flying which gave great photographic opportunities. The guides were very good on spotting wild life and did their utmost to find the best angle to capture the light and get some excellent photos. The food was very good and. the staff was nice helpful and performed local songs and dances for the guests . Classifying from 1 to 10 I give 10 !

Pom Pom offers a luxurious taste of the true African wilderness. Lodge management and staff are superbly attentive to all guest needs and they really take care of every detail on the traveler's behalf. The environment in the concession area is pristine and there are very few other people in the area. Photographic opportunity abounds, from right at the lodge to the boat, mokoro or vehicle excursions.
The chef is as good as the lodgings serving excellent meals throughout the day!

Our stay at Pom Pom Camp was the most wonderful trip we did so far. The staff is amazing and the location offers more than you can expect. Special thank you to the managers TK and Reetsang, the guide Onny and tracker Skills and the chef Mmat. The tents are very clean and the balcony give an excellent view on the pond where the wildlife goes to drink.

I have visited Botswana before but this was my first solo trip in the wild. It was an 8 day /7 nights trip from Chobe to Pom-Pom and then Mmadinare. PomPom was my second stop after Chobe. The aircraft took about an hour from Kasane to Pom Pom. On my arrival , I was welcomed by a warm song from the staff at the entrance, They took my luggage to my room and then I was taken to the sitting room by the manager who briefed me about everything I needed to know. Initially I was anxious especially when I discovered that my tent was the 1st one at the edge of the camp. After lunch , I went for my first game drive. What a wonderful experience. I was the only guest on the drive and I had the luxury of doing whatever I needed without fear of inconveniencing other people. I took as many photos as I pleased. I asked a lot of questions and as a result, I learnt a lot about animals and their environment. My guide was well informed, what a treasure. I enjoyed every minute of the drive. In the evening I was treated like a Queen, I had campfire made specially for me where we sat and shared a lot of stories with the staff members. We had Hippos just a few meters from the camp and a hyena also paid us a visit. My tent was indeed luxurious, I have never seen anything like that before. It felt like a 5 star hotel. My 2nd day was the best, I was more relaxed and I had the opportunity to see a lot of animals and I also enjoyed a Mokoro cruise in the afternoon. This was indeed a lifetime experience. Something you can never find anywhere else. Nature as wild as you can ever imagine. I would love to take my family there one day. Thank you vey much.

Only two days and an early department meant we missed one game drive...only to find the wild dogs sleeping on the airstrip. Amazing wildlife with lions and leopards, loads of elephants and the fantastic wild dogs who we saw on all three drives including driving a hippo out of a ditch! Stunning. A KWando camp with the usual care and luxury, this was the oldest of three we visited are does feel it (needs a revamp) although the staff are brilliant. Some wifi was available which was good for helping identification apps such as

Our stay (19 - 86 year old participants!) as a family was a complete success - an incredible, unforgettable experience: the reception at the runway, at the camp itself with cool water and towels, friendly and calm explanations of the procedures were excellent. The "tents" are small, luxuriously furnished houses with a view of the lagoon - full of animals at any time of day or night. The staff are very friendly, the food is top-notch (including consideration of food intolerances!). The game drives are top-class with friendly, super-trained rangers who work hard every day (OD and Sundy!) - we saw lion families and numerous leopards, among other things, and received a wealth of information and all our questions were always answered in a friendly manner. The nightly animal visits in the camp (leopard at the pool and under our tent, elephant at the tents) were exciting, but always well managed by the team. Five stars from us - we'd love to go again!

There is storage facility at Maun Airport. We arranged it by contacting the company that did our flights in the Delta upfront. They impose the luggage restrictions due to the small planes and must have a solution for you. Enjoy Pom Pom it was great :-)
