Set in one of the most pristine wilderness areas left on our planet, Selinda Camp rests on the banks of the Selinda Spillway, as it enters the Linyanti River in Botswana. The private 130,000-hectare Selinda Reserve boasts elephants by the thousands, regular sightings of the Selinda pack of African wild dogs as well as the famous Selinda Lion Pride recently feature in the National Geographic film “Birth of a Pride” by Dereck and Beverly Joubert. The area has a sense of remoteness, a true spirit of Africa, and is a great example of Botswana bush embodying a variety of species and rare animals. Selinda Camp, a Relais and Chateaux member, represents the meeting place of three cultures; European, Mokololo and Bayei and is themed to resemble that of the thatched village of Sangwali.

Absolutely stunning place. Private, cozy and personal service from the staff. They cater for all your needs.

The game drives and guided and suit your preferences. The food was fantastic.

We booked the family suite which had two en-suite bedrooms, each with wifi, a plunge pool and deck overlooking the river.

I stayed two nights at Selinda Camp with family. I have stayed in a fair few lodges in Botswana over the years. Selinda is amongst the very best. The rooms have everything you could imagine and a few things you hadn’t event thought of. The small touches like the writing paper with your name on it, the top of the range cameras and lenses and binoculars.

We had the best food I have had in Botswana let alone in a lodge. It was like eating in a top international restaurant. The 5 course tasting menu on our last day was simply brilliant.

The game viewing was also very good but that is almost a given in Botswana!

Overall, I only have positive things to say about Selinda Camp. Truly amazing. Can’t recommend it enough.

We had a lovely stay at Selinda Camp; a beautiful setting on the spillway, with our rooms looking out on the water and marshland. Serenaded by frogs and an occasional hippo at night, it was a peaceful retreat. Boat rides viewing elephants, hippos, and lechwe as they grazed along the banks were a delightful variation to the drives which also revealed wonderful wildlife. Selinda's staff members were warm and welcoming, and always attentive to every comfort. The remote location was well-worth the journey (and high price.) If you want to treat yourself to the ultimate luxury safari experience, Selinda Camp (in their exclusive Selinda Suite is the way to go!

My husband planned a trip with me and a few family friends to celebrate my 30th. It was nothing short of amazing. We had two luxury tents and the Main Selinda Suite which I stayed in , it was absolute luxury !! From the vintage finishing to immaculate rooms and ofcourse phenomenal views ! We were treated and pampered by the camp hosts! Mr Ram made us hot masala chai everyday and on every game drive ! Kenny the chef was amazing with his dishes and prepared me the most amazing dessert platter for my 30th celebration ,the rest of the staff were so receptive helpful and kind !!
Mr Name- our game ranger was an incredible tracker ! He made the experience all worthwhile.

Thank you to the Selinda Suite Camp Managers and Staff for an unforgettable memorable experience !We hope to be back soon !!!

Selinda is a fabulous camp built on the banks of the Selinda Spillway. The small size(3 tents plus a family suite) ensures that every guest is completely spoiled.
Six, the camp manager, has an infectious personality and smile that immediately puts his guests at ease and makes you feel like family. He has created a cohesive, fun team that kept us smiling the whole 4 days of our visit.
Assistant, the executive chef, continually surprised us with delicious dishes and amazing culinary experiences including brunch in the bush, dinner in the wine cellar and interactive cooking in their demonstration kitchen. Assistant is a gem of a chef, creative and innovative and so personable. We loved his fresh ginger and beet juices and little surprises at sundowner!!
Last but not least, Obie, our guide, who jumped over from Zarafa camp at my request, was fabulous! He is so knowledgeable about everything including birds and butterflies, and can trek and find animals even in the dense foliage of Summer. Obie is a wonderful human being who cares deeply about wildlife and shares his passion so openly and willingly with others.
It was my traveling companions first camp on her first trip to Africa and Selinda did not disappoint. Thank you Selinda for a wonderful stay!

The experience of a lifetime. We cannot even begin to explain how exceptional and wonderful our time at Selinda was.

The staff went above and beyond what we could have expected in our wildest dreams to make our experience as special as possible.

Our guide Foster was outstanding, amazing at sensing and spotting the wildlife as well as a great host. We also adored the rest of the team from the manager, Six, to the great waiter/bartender, Joe, and our amazing chef!

The decor of our room was incredibly tasteful and as exquisite as the comfort level was high.

The local wildlife is amazing. We saw groups of lions with their cubs as well as leopards, elephants and, of course, hippos.

The mission of the Great Plains Conservation is also clearly a very appealing one worth supporting. We also certainly had the feeling that the owners were making sure their staff was happy to work at Selinda which clearly added to the experience.

We were only at Selinda for 2 days but it felt like 2 weeks given all the amazing things we experienced here. It's almost impossible to fully describe our experience and we can only recommend that you visit this wonderful place.

This is just a dream in the delta. Our thatched chalets were luxuriously furnished with artifacts, including doors and huge brass bowls from Indonesia, but the pool in front with the lagoon full of elephant and hippo was pure Botswana. The food and service and our tour guide were excellent. We could never have have afforded such a place except for the 80% Covid discount. But sometimes opportunity knocks on you door. A wonderful place.

Selinda camp sits on the water on one side and land on the other, it is the most magical place I have ever been to. The animal sightings were incredible, the accomodation is divine and the people looking after you are considerate, kind and helpful all the time. The food was the best I have ever had. I would recommend this place with no reservation, it is absolutely worth it.

An absolutely beautiful camp-accommodations, food and guiding over the top!!! Very expensive, but worth every Penny! Our guide Ruben was fantastic and the staff at Selinda were awesome. We transferred from Duba Explorers as the small tent was too hot in the 90+ degree heat.and we are sure glad that Selinda had room for us. The sightings we saw were remarkable in the Okavango Delta. Elephants crossing the Selinda Spillway balancing their babies on their trunks as a raft!! Wild dogs, which are rare and the alfa female jumping up on my husbands side of the jeep to look around-unbelievable. Reuben stopped the jeep at night as herds of elephants were passing in the night. I passed on that game drive and wish I went! Outside our room which was on the spillway we could hear and see hippos during the day and night. Lions, cheetahs, and birds galore!! We love Botswana and want to go back to Selinda!! Total five star camp.

Selinda is simply gorgeous. The camp had been completely renovated and the results are extraordinary.
I travel to Africa frequently and have had the good fortune to stay at many exquisite and outstanding safari lodges in several countries. Selinda is certainly one of the most stunning.
This was my first experience with Great Plains Conservation, the parent company of Selinda. Derek and Beverly Joubert have a mission, concept and real understanding of how to run a company and a lodge. They are true professionals and my grandson and I were the beneficiaries of their outstanding operation.
The Jones are the managers and the do a marvelous job. They know how to make this very luxurious lodge a very special place. Both are extremely warm, hospitable, and gracious. It was a pleasure to be in their company.
The food was outstanding, the most delicious during our one month trip to Botswana and Zimbabwe. The wines are also special. The chefs operate out of an open kitchen.
The game viewing was very good. We especially enjoyed our experience with the lions and their cubs.
The managers arranged a fabulous lunch in the wild with a beautiful bar and a delectable meal.
One of the unique features of this lodge is the professional and very sophisticated camera they lend their guests. My grandson Hunter was thrilled to be able to use such a fine camera.
Thank you for making our stay so memorable. I look forward to staying at more camps in the Great Plains portfolio. This one is a gem!!

They have shampoo and cream rinse. It was hot during the day when we were there but we needed fleece or nano puff for early morning drives. We were there in September so I expect weather in November will be different. Gorgeous baby leopards in the area! I hope you get to see them
