This past summer I travelled with my family to Tuli Block, Botswana, home to hundreds of species of different birds, three lion prides, many parades of elephants, and of course endless impala and other deer-like animals. The largest reserve in this region is Mashatu, which offers many accommodations tailoring to different families ideas of life in the Savannah. In my...

Mashatu Safari camp has two locations--the main camp in luxurious accommodations with a small museum on-site and the Mashatu Tent Camp--all located on a 75,000 acre property in the Northern Tuli Game Reserve--at the eastern tip of Botswana--between Zimbabwe and the Rep. of South Africa. The geography is breathtaking--Mopane and Shepherd trees in grassy velds--we visited at start of rainy...

Fro the moment of our arrival at Limpopo Airport where we were picked up by our wonderful guide Kinoshi and taken to Mashatu Main Camp where we were greeted by Congo, The Manager and his most delightful staff our trip and stay was an absolute delight. Our safaris were truly wonderful and memorable and enormous care was taken to track...

I THOUGHT it would be a once in a lifetime experience. But so many people here were repeat visitors, and now I understand why. I may be back as well. Truly, a magical place. Start with the wildlife of course. The guide (Eric) and his tracker (Aaron) were both friendly, skilled, and patient. They helped us to see Impalas, Bushbucks,...

So many visitors have praised the camp for its location, wildlife viewing, comfortable accommodation, food and service. I totally agree. Five rating is justified if not for a few issues. To emphasise the importance of correcting these I have given a '3'. I hope management will take it in the spirit I have written it, specially because I intend coming...

Wonderful wildlife viewing, comfortable large rooms - the previous positive reviews summarize the wonderful features of this place. Have decreased my rating however because unlike other lodges in the area all beverages including bottled water are an extra cost. "Purified' water is provided free of charge but has a disgusting taste and is undrinkable. Why not be like other similar...

Many thanks for your review which is greatly appreciated. At the outset, I am delighted that you found the viewing and accommodations great. Thank you for this. In terms of your two comments; one about the purified water. This water is filtered through a reverse osmosis system that produces a tasteless and odourless, pure water. To this effect, the management...

A wonderful guiding team: Dan and Morgan! We had the best cub sightings ever: leopards, lions, cheetahs and hyenas. Leopards mating was another highlight! We were very close to the animals and usually the first at the sightings giving us plenty of time. The landscape is beautiful and diverse. We also loved the hide where you can see animals at...

I spent 4 nights at Mashatu on a specialist photographic safari. Over the years I have had many visits to the Okavango Delta but this was my first to Mashatu ... and my first visit to Botswana in November. The landscapes in Mashatu are very different to those in the north of the country ... and the temperatures in November...

We spent six wonderful days at Mashatu. Everything was done so well. Our room was great. Food excellent. Atmosphere welcoming. Staff good humoured and very helpful. Even though it is quite remote everything is available and even the wifi works ok in the lounge room. And the game drives were stunning! The drivers and spotters know this reserve so well...

Good accommodations and food. Great game sightings. We had close encounters with cheetahs, leopards and dozens of elephants. The brunch and high teas were the highlights of the meals. Unlike the other sites we visited we were charged for every drink, even the "sundowners". Surprisingly (diappointingly) neither the ranger nor the tracker had binoculars and often used ours. That meant...
