Located high on the edge of a rocky ridge overlooking the famous Chobe River is the newly developed Chobe Elephant Camp. This uniquely designed lodge has been built to take advantage of the incredible views overlooking the sweeping floodplains while offering a comfortable refuge from the harsh African conditions. Built from the same red Kalahari sands that dominate the northern part of Botswana, this eco-friendly lodge is ideally positioned to take advantage of everything this incredible destination has to offer. Be it the spectacular wildlife that the Chobe River is famous for, or the opportunity to interact with the local Sibuya Tribe who live within this wildlife haven, Chobe Elephant Camp offers its guest a true African adventure. Based in the semi-arid bush of Africa there is always the challenge of extreme temperature variations and how to combat this. The solution came in one of earths' great insulators - the sand. The lodge has been entirely constructed from sandbags, the thick sand-filled walls create a natural insulating barrier between the inhabitants and the harsh African climate and enhance the old farm-style feel of the camp. With a variety of activities that include viewing the regions spectacular wildlife from open safari vehicles, by boat on the Chobe River, along with excursions to the nearby village to get introduced to the local culture, a visit to Chobe Elephant Camp offers a wide range of experiences to our guests. Accessible by air via Kasane Airport, Victoria Falls or Livingstone Airports or by road from Savuti, Caprivi or Kasane the lodge is ideally positioned to fit into most safari itineraries.

This Lodge was on point from Start to Finish! Sure it isn't a '5 star' resort or property, but for this part of the woods it certainly is, and the smiles on the staff here are most certainty 5 star. Comfortable beds, great food and wine and amazing Rangers that really know their stuff. Highly recommend!

Thanks to E-max „ Emanuelle“ we got to see plenty of wild life and went on a relaxing boot tour on Chobe river. The pictures about this lodge tell the truth. Maria prepared the towels for a warm welcome and a happy new year as crocodile, swans and sea shell. Beauty and Grace made sure that our accommodation was perfect. Food and drinks were very good, but most of all we enjoyed the outside shower because of its high pressure.

CEC differs from the other places we stayed in Botswana as the lodgings were actual buildings, not tents. Had AC, which was nice as it was very hot. Lovely room, comfortable sleep. The dining area/bar had a very nice view over the valley. Food was excellent, service was excellent. We had great Game Drives. The guide was excellent at finding animals, getting us good looks at them, and explaining the biology of the animals. When you had a really special sighting (feeding lions, leopard, etc) we spent plenty of time observing. The pool was nice, good view of the valley too.

There was something very attractive about the camp - basic in some ways but the staff and guides were young and charming, helpful with big smiles: the place was quite a contrast to the mass tourism offerings down the road. And elephants....well..I'll never forget seeing up the sheer number of elephants in family groups cavorting in the river from a boat/skimmer. Elephants at play as well as having a good feed on the island grass. Lots to see

The rooms are good, the view is great and there is plenty of wildlife available in the park (about 10 minutes away) but the best thing was the friendliness of everyone who worked there, from the managers to the guides to the kitchen staff. We were even treated to a performance by the staff choir - normally the sort of thing I'd hate but they all seemed to be enjoying themselves so much I loved it. We were there 3 nights so got the boat trip included too, which was lovely. Sorry to leave it.
