I have worked as a tour guide in the US for 25 years and I can attest that Vincent's tour guiding skills exceeded mine in the first five minutes! He is amazing at what he does, both spotting and respecting wildlife and making the visitors have the ultimate personal experience. Often, though, the behind the scenes staff don't get the credit and in this case I hope they do - from the decorations and hot water bottles on our bed to delicious fruity drinks upon arrival to perfectly pressed laundry this staff knows how to please customers. On top of that they sang for us, had a beautiful fire and cared about every aspect of our trip. Since there are limited tents here it feels wonderfully secluded - as if you have the entire national park to yourselves. I have been to more than 80 countries and this was one of my very top trips!

The whole stay was sensational. I proposed to my partner during the stay and the whole team was very responsive to my wishes and far exceeded my expectations. The staff was extremely accommodating, the food was very delicious and the rooms were very clean with a breathtaking view of the waterhole. In the high season there are up to 300 elephants. We will not forget this lodge and the warm staff so quickly. Thank you!

We spent 3 nights at Nogatsaa Pans and loved every minute!! The luxurious tents are perfectly placed around this massive water hole directly in front of the lodge where all the wild life of the area come to drink. One afternoon while lounging by the pool after lunch and a morning game drive we observed 50-60 elephant at one time! We were the only people in lodge which made it extra special but there are no other lodges in the area so one is guaranteed to have intimate and fairly exclusive experience. The game drives may not produce as many sightings due to the remoteness of the lodge but the water hole directly in front makes for the best "arm chair" safari you'll probably every have. The staff, setting, comfort make Nogatsaa a world class experience. We will be back for sure!

My fiance and I loved our time at the lodge. The experience was totally different than any safari I have been on in the past. Animals walked within meters of our tent and we were just as likely to see wildlife while having a drink on the patio as we were driving around the park. One night we were woken by the snarls of a leopard just outside our tent. We creeped over to our screen window and watched under the moonlight as a pack of hyenas attacked the lone cat repeatedly. After several heart stopping minutes, the pack retreated far enough away for the leopard to make her escape. The next day we were sitting on the deck when a giraffe walked up to us and began eating the tree at the foot of our stairs. The staff were amazing and the food incredible. How the chef can make such amazing meals so far in the wilderness is a testament to both her skill and creativity. We cannot recommend Nogatsaa Pan enough and hope to visit again one day.

This was the first of 3 camps we visited, and it was excellent. The entire staff were wonderful, as were the meals, and my dietary requirements were taken care of amazingly well. They really did go out of their way.
Our tent was fabulous, and we really enjoyed our safari drives.
Just loved our campfire each evening and the staff would sing and dance in their native language: it was wonderful entertainment.

Nogatsaa is a tented lodge in the heart of Chobe National Park! It is the place for a real experience of Africa’s wildlife, where elephants, impala, antelope, buffalo, lion roam free in this unfenced lodge. All tents face the waterhole with enormous glass doors where you can wake to elephants drinking with a sunrise in the backdrop. It’s difficult to top this. The team at the lodge literally takes care of you, arranging the best game drives (ours was the only vehicle in the area!) with experienced rangers, the chef prepares superb meals, the staff makes you feel at home!
A great experience is dining on the deck, under the stars and with herds of elephants coming to drink just in front!
The hardest part about Nogatsaa Pans Lodge is having to leave! Because you arrive as a guest and leave as a friend! Thank you for the amazing experience!

The Camp Site is about 8 km from the lodge. It is unfenced. Has about 8 large stands set amongst the Chobe " Forest" each with large fire pit and a lockable dustbin cage to prevent wild animals from scrounging. A nice simple clean bathroom and slabbed and covered area for washing dishes.

Distance was approx 2 hours from Kasane on 4x4 sandy roads ( would'nt try it in the rainy season).

The Campsite has its own waterhole with hide. Only 100- 200 m away, although we were advised not to walk this ( quick hop in the car). The water hole provided hours of amazing game watching. Nogatsaa Camp staff checked in with us and emptied trash cans.

This remote unfenced wifi -free camp was a rare treat - one that is getting harder and harder to find. Despite the heat and the midges, this was the highlight of our 2 week trip. Come fully prepared with water and food - and just experience a wild isolated space that quite frankly is becoming harder to find than a 5 star hotel.

My wife and I spend 7 days at Nogatsaa Pans lodge.

Subsequently we went to two other lodges for another week (Chobe Elephant Camp and Elephant Valley lodge, both very nice lodges) on the Chobe river in Botswana. Nogatsaa Pans lodge is the most special of these three. Uniquely located in the Chobe National Park with no other lodge in the vicinity one experiences the animals in a different behaviour and in our opinion better than on the Chobe river front. We have been at many lodges (> 24) on our safari holidays usually in private concessions areas as is Nogatsaa Pans lodge. We had the most beautiful pride of 10 lions we have seen sofar, running around the lodge, which made it challenging but the Nogatsaa team paid attention to our safe well being. The first night the pack of 10 lions killed an elephant right next to our tent, just 1-2 meters away and the whole night there was a lot of noise from elephant trumpeting when they smelled the lions and the lions warning the elephants that they should not get closer. It was a moonless night, very dark, but the sounds were unforgettable. We could not leave the tent in the morning but with the help of our experienced guide Ryder, we eventually managed after a few attempts. The lionesses (three) were quite alert so we had to be very careful. There are many elephants walking around the tents (during the day but even more at night) or in front of the lodge. On the game drives we never encountered vehicles from other lodges and that was really nice. On the Chobe river front one can have traffic jams with vehicles following the same bumpy road and when there is a lion to be seen cars pile up and on the water front boats pile up for the same lion. The river front is very nice from the scenery point of view but the large number of vehicles diminishes the enjoyment. The food was excellent at Nogatsaa Pans Lodge with the most brilliant cook we have seen so far at the lodges we went to. The staff was excellent and very nice. One felt embedded in a family. We made beautiful pictures of lions, elephants, birds, giraffe, antilopes, hyenas, vultures. We upload a few samples. For who wants to be a special place, Nogatsaa Pans lodge is very special. A quiet place as there are no other lodges nearby but full of life with animals Bring a good camera as there many details to be observed and enjoy. Just watch the scenery in the front of the main building of the lodge and you get the whole day entertainment (and at night as the elephant and lions making quite some noise, sleeping enough hours is the only problem).

This place is simply the best. Its private and secluded within the Chobe national park. Game drives are absolutely private (guests only, no other park vistors around) and the private waterhole makes you feel like you are in a life recording by david attenborough / national geographic. Staff is supernice and highly skilled - game ranger Allen is a great guy who spots all and can tell you all about tracks and traces and manager Kitshili (also not bad at animals;)) is the best host you could ask for and she runs a great team, all lovely and great (special thanks to peach doing his magic knock knock asking for drinks). Tents and main area are simply gorgeous. If you have a chance, go for a few days if you can. Even if it means a detour or long drive. Guarantees to be happy.
