Not as expected, a tad run down, workshop one your face , grass not cut, no security web site shows a better review and braai a and bins all over the place, rubble not cleared before we arrived and it is still not cleared. Braai still have old coals no cleaning! I would NOT recomend this park!

My husband and I stayed for 4 nights at Fish Eagle River lodge and had a wonderful stay. The views a beautiful all around the property. Steve and Kay are great hosts and have lots of advice on the area. It’s well located to explore all around the Western Cape. We will be back!

Had a great stay at this place. We stayed in the self catering accommodation, but noticed there was a lovely camp site also. The self catering accommodation had everything you needed. The location is absolutely beautiful on the banks of the river, so peaceful and tranquil. We stayed for a few days and were able to explore the local area including the nearby Riebeek Kasteel. Loved this place and the area. We will definitely be back.

We were only able to stay one night but Kay and Steve made us feel very welcome. The lodge is nicely located near Riebeck Kasteel and many Wine Farms. The accommodation was very comfortable and the breakfast was great. The Camping Sites look fantastic and the views and peace and quiet are brilliant. Highly recommended.

We camped at Fish Eagle River Lodge for ten days. A really beautiful and very well managed campsite (photos posted). The place is lovely and quiet except for the week between Christmas and new year when it becomes packed and noisy. We liked the fact that it was only over 18 and no children

Our family spent only one night at one of the campsites. What a wonderful new discovery. Extremely neat and tidy sites, clean ablutions and a lovely swimming pool to cool off in. It was very quiet. Abundant birdlife and just a real country getaway. And it's under 40 km's from where we live - so we pack up and we're there in half an hour! And one night away feels like four. Highly recommended. In winter we'll try the accommodation.

Lovely place, neat and tidy, amazing showers and clean ablutions. Friendly owner willing to assist, No kids allowed so if you want a peaceful break it is the place to go. Loads of birds, plenty of walks to do and close to Riebeek Kasteel which is worth a visit to wonder around.

We decided last minute in December to get away for a couple of days. We tried a couple of campsites but they were fully booked. One thing that always prevents us from camping during the holidays is the noise factor and lots of screaming kids. Well we were so happy to have found Fish Eagle River lodge. Not only was it serenity personified, it also has a no under 18 age policy. It was bliss. From the time we arrived there we were welcomed by Steve and Kay, and the dogs... The camp site was spotless, braai facilities no problem and the ablutions always clean and loads of hot water..... not that we needed hot water in the heat, but it was there none the less. They have just installed a lovely pool, small but just enough to cool off. Trees are still growing, but in summary a great place for a quiet getaway. Not far from the city so weekends away will be a quick trip. The surrounding areas of Riebeek Wes, Riebeek Kasteel and Wellington offer some amazing wine tastings and lots of sites to see.... and all within a 10 - 20 minute drive. Amazing find!!!…

We stayed in the self catering unit for the Valentine's weekend. The unit is well equipped and serviced daily. It is also very private with a separate entrance with a balcony and weber braai overlooking the pool and stunning views! It is a little bit away from Riebeek Kaseteel itself and there are no lights at night so upon reflection I would probably have prefered being in the town itself, however being outside the town also has its advantages as it is very quiet and the drive in to town is only 10 minutes. Overall a great stay!
