The Crayfish Lodge with its operators Sandra and Reinhard and their staff is located on a wild coastline with magnificent views of the Atlantic Ocean. The sunsets are uniquely beautiful and invite you to hike along the wild Atlantic coast. We experienced Sandra, Reinhard and the staff as extremely warm and accommodating. The Crayfish Lodge itself is a very well maintained building offering very comfortable rooms overlooking the sea. The breakfast offered is delicious and can satisfy every wish. The stay at the Crayfish Lodge will remain very fond of us. We can recommend them to anyone looking for relaxing days in nature in a very nice, tasteful and personal ambience!

We were very lucky to stay at the fantastic accommodation “Crayfish Lodge” in De Kelders (Gansbaai) right on Walker Bay, and it was just fantastic! The large terrace offers a sensational view of “Walker Bay”, which delights every day and from where you can watch whales and dolphins with a bit of luck. But especially the sunsets are breathtaking and make for unforgettable moments.
The accommodation itself is spacious, comfortable and equipped with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The location is perfect to enjoy the beauty of the surroundings while experiencing the peace and seclusion. In addition, the German owners Sandra and Reinhard were available with all things, with advice and deeds helpful.
We can highly recommend this accommodation to anyone seeking an unforgettable stay in this region

We enjoyed our stay at Crayfish Lodge to the fullest and felt absolutely comfortable from the start. Sandra and Reinhard are wonderful hosts who make every moment special with their warmth and attention.
The accommodation is not only beautifully located, but also designed with great attention to detail. The breakfast was excellent, the view breathtaking, and the service just unbeatable. You can tell that everything is managed here with passion.
We can fully recommend the Crayfish Lodge and look forward to coming back one day. Many thanks to Sandra and Reinhard for these unforgettable days!

Gansbaai is a picturesque coastal village in South Africa, known for its stunning landscapes and proximity to some of the best diving and whale watching areas in the world. Located in the Western Cape province, about 40 kilometres from Hermanus, it is famous for its impressive cliffs, white sand beaches and the clear, blue waters of the Indian Ocean. Gansbaai is particularly known for its large population of white sharks, making it a popular destination for adventurous and divers.
Crayfish Lodge is a luxurious Gansbaai inn offering a welcoming atmosphere and comfortable amenities. The lodge is run by incredibly nice hosts Sandra and Rainer, who make every guest feel at home. Of particular note is the penthouse, which is by far the best room on site and offers breathtaking views of the bay. The rooms are tastefully decorated and offer a relaxing retreat after a day of activities. Crayfish Lodge is known for its friendly service and personal touch that makes guests feel welcome. Here visitors can enjoy the local cuisine and look forward to unforgettable experiences in nature.
Many greetings to Gaansbai

Our stay at this hotel was just perfect! The seafront location is unbeatable - from the balcony we could even watch whales, which was an absolutely unique experience! The view of the sea was fantastic and provided a great atmosphere every morning when waking up.
Breakfast was absolutely fantastic and left nothing to be desired. There was a huge selection, everything was fresh and delicious. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful - no matter what we needed, it was made possible immediately and always with a smile.
The rooms are modern, stylish and very cozy. The walks along the coast were also a highlight, the location of the hotel is an ideal starting point for extended walks by the sea.
All in all it was a wonderful stay and we can really recommend the place to anyone looking for a relaxing and special holiday. We would definitely come back!

We received a very warm welcome and were totally pampered throughout our stay. The lodge is beautifully located with direct access to the Indian Ocean. From the terrace we were able to see the first whales from a distance immediately after arriving, which was of course the ultimate for us Swiss. The rooms are very spacious with a view of the sea and wonderfully comfortable beds. The teenagers were even able to enjoy an outdoor shower! Sandra also gave us two restaurant recommendations for great dinners. The breakfast in the house was excellent with local products and freshly prepared with lots of love. Thanks to the somewhat bad weather, our daughter and I were even able to enjoy Sandra's cosmetic pampering program - we can really recommend it highly! We recommend the Crayfish Lodge to all travelers who value hospitality, authenticity and warmth; who want to experience Walker Bay far away from the hustle and bustle around Hermanus. We'll be back!

We were warmly welcomed by the German host Sandra in her beautifully appointed Crayfish Lodge and spoiled every morning by her and her great staff with a fantastic breakfast...the view of the sea was included!
Our room was also comfortable and left nothing to be desired!
Here you feel comfortable, even if it's uncomfortable outside!
Thanks also to Reinhard, who "throws" the organization of the lodge in the background.

With Sandra and Reinhard, we have now found the ideal accommodation with Crayfish Lodge to spend a few more days after a tour of South Africa lasting several weeks before flying back from Cape Town. We can fully agree with the positive reviews of the many other guests.
Our highlights organized by Sandra and Reinhard this year were:
- a Fynbossafari followed by Cape Floral Kitchen Lunch at Jürgen's
Tailor at Bellavista
- a boat trip on the Klein River near Stanford
We are sure that Sandra and Reinhard can also give valuable tips for activities on our next, then already third, visit.
Jutta and Jan
P.S. Look at the bushes on the doorstep, from whose fruit Sandra cooks the delicious num-num jam.

It was once again beautiful and relaxing. For us it is almost like visiting family abroad, arriving and feeling good.
Sandra is always happy to help with planning activities and spoils every morning with a delicious breakfast incl. Vegetables from our own farm. The rooms are well maintained and very well equipped. The location right on the coast is unique.
Whale watching is possible directly from the room as the animals come very close to the shore here.
We will definitely book again...
