We booked the entire guest house for a weekend for about 16 of us, a wedding party. Caron and Dave made us so welcome we had an amazing stay. The rooms are all different, some with sea view some not, but all decorated and fitted out beutifully. We had a duplex room with a lovley big veranda with a sea view. The little garden and pool area are lovely, the whole place has a great atmospehre and we really enjoyed all being together for the morning of the wedding, space for the bride and bridesmaids etc to prepare etc.... Nothing was too much trouble for Caron and Dave, the breakfats wre great, they also cooked us a super bbq on the Friday evening, and made a number of arrangements and recommendations which enhanced our entire wekend. All of our group said what a lovely,…
My wife and I had arrangements to stay at a different bed-and-breakfast, but when we arrived in town the manager was nowhere to be found and we could not access our room. It was nine in the evening and everything else was closed and there are no hotels in town. We called David at the Saxon Lodge and he put us up in a wonderful room. It was beautifully furnished and breakfast was excellent. We don’t know what we would have done without him. It’s priced very affordably and has an excellent location. I highly recommend the Saxon lodge.
Very nice accommodation indeed. Comfortable and practical bar the need for a wash-up basin downstairs where the coffee making facilities are. Nice coffee and even a plunger - thanks. Good bed and plenty of electrical points - specially the extensions with all possible types of plugs available - something over looked by most hotels and B&B's. Although not advertised as such, loved the bar fridge. Interesting view and very nice garden and pool. Our hosts were brilliant. Very helpful and both breakfasts were great. Ample parking. Very good stay - will definitely return one day.
Large room upstairs (Albatross) big bathroom, and large terrace. Lovely. views over Harbour, sea and mountains in distance. Very basic inside. No air conditioning. Just a large Fan. Good breakfast. Comfortable and quiet. Dave and Caron were very good hosts. Dog called Teddy and two cats. The Lodge had a bar where it was great to exchange stories with our hosts. Staff very friendly. Well worth a stay. Not far to Main Street and restaurants.
Stayed for 1 night and wish we could’ve stayed for longer and explored the local area. Spacious room, lovely pool area, friendly and very welcoming staff. Dave made us the perfect restaurant reservation on arrival. If you are looking for somewhere to stay prior to shark cage diving or whale watching, definitely stay here!!
