Horse rides are available daily and guests can go rock climbing, hiking, mountain biking, swimming and birdwatching. Several hiking routes are available and featuring incredible natural formations of the area which includes Disa Pool, Kromriver Cave, Stadsaal Caves, Truitjieskraal, Maltese Cross, Wolfberg Cracks & Arch and plenty more. We really enjoyed our stay, the farm cottages had everything we needed. Most of the time we were out exploring the sites nearby, which were amazing - Stadsaal and Truitjieskraal. Saw so many spring flowers! Kromrivier is a no waste zone so it was cool to leave our food scraps for the pigs, next time will bring more bags for rubbish. Everyone was helpful and will definitely be back

This was such a pleasant surprise. The cottages are modern with contemporary decor, fully equipped and spotlessly clean. Modern bathrooms, towels are provided, piping hot water. The cottages are well spaced apart connected by a good gravel road. The reception is friendly and helpful. The shop is well supplied although the addition of milk might be a consideration. The ability to purchase food through the restaurant - Die Slee - is so useful and made dinner so easy. Breakfast the next morning was wholesome and delicious.

We had a really lovely camping experience and the private ablution facilities at each site are a real winner. The surroundings are breath-taking and we thoroughly enjoyed exploring the wonderful Cederberg. We highly recommend Kromrivier Cederberg Park and look forward to returning soon!

We spent 3 nights at Murraysberg Chalet which was spotless clean and very well equipped for self catering and we felt immediately at home. We loved our daily swims in the dam, the hikes close to the farm an our time relaxing on the stoep and watching the stars at night. A special treat for our daughter were the freshly baked croissants for breakfast and the horse ride. A big bonus is their fast internet if one need to work remotely

We had the most spectacular long weekend break at Kromrivier Cederberg Park recently, enjoying one of their very spacious camp sites. The farm is in a beautiful valley, with lots to see and experience. The camp sites were well equipped with their own ablution (toilet, basin & shower) plus wash station, and a large firepit. We camped under shady oak trees with beautiful views of the riverbed, and mountains.

Highlights included the 10km walk up to Disa Pool (with our two young boys who managed admirably), a visit to Cederberg Wines, and a wander through Truitjieskraal rock art site to see the paintings and rock formations. We also enjoyed plenty of downtime on the farm, seeing the horses, browsing the shop, enjoying a coffee at the eatery and playing sport on the lawns.

What a great spot, thanks Kromrivier, we will be back.

After a long day's drive on gravel roads, it was great to discover Kromrivier and how modern the main building was and all the facilities. The WiFi even reached our campsite! Plus, campsites all have their own private ablution block with a solar powered geyser on top, guaranteeing a nice hot shower. An excellent place to stay and the locally-brewed beers are a definite highlight.

This was our first visit to the new houses and we were very impressed. We have visited before and love the Cederberg and Kromrivier, but this was different and deceidedly upmarket, with lovely architecture, interiors and fittings. The massive fireplace for indoor braais and the woodburning stoves in both bedrooms, were just what we dreamed about!
We had a very nice meal at the Slee restaurant and really enjoyed the attentive service by everyone, including Samanta and the Nieuwoud sisters.
Do not miss the bread!

Each campsite has its own bathroom, shower and basin which is a massive plus for the price per evening. Restaurant with cold crafft beer and great food close by is also a big plus. Endless kilometers of single tracks around the area and mountain peaks that you can explore. Not too busy, which makes you feel like you are getting away from the hustle. Would like to visit this place at least once a year.

Kromrivier used to be a place for people roughing it but with the new chalets you can have your upmarket experience if that is what you prefer. What has not changed is magical Mother Nature: the brilliant stars in the night sky, the smell of the dam water, the cold, clear rivier pools, the fresh mountain air. What to bring if you go in summer: slipslops, walking shoes, swimming costume, sarong and one or two T shirts and shorts plus one outfit for a cold evening, hat and sun cream. That is it. Except if you want to show off your specially bought wardrobe for your Safari in Africa! If you are a rock climber, Truitjieskraal is one of the best spots in the country. If you approach Kromrivier from Ceres do stop at Oasis Backpackers for a beer and a burger. If you come from the N7 side stop at Kardoesie (no alcohol sold here but lovely hats, tea and other paraphernalia in their very good gift shop). The ideal minimum stay at Kromrivier would be one week so you can swim and sit enough to have the peace of the place soak into your bones.

Responded 03 Jan 2021
Good Day Elna Thank you for your review of Cederberg Park I fully agree with you, to get the full experience of our Resort and the surrounding area, a week stay would be essential. There is literally so much to do in the area that a one week stay is not even enough time to explore all the unique rock formations, hiking routes and natural beauty the Cederberg has to offer. Hope to see you again soon. Kind Regards Duane Muller
