We couldn't find accommodation in a nearby town and ended up at Yellow Aloe. What a lovely place..

It was a great alternative. It is well kept, clean and the whimsical garden with all the ornaments lends a nice touch. The hosts are friendly and are not shy to give advise on where the best restaurants etc are.

The rooms are warm and sleep quality is high with comfy beds and pillows. There are even electrical blankets on the beds. We stayed in the cottage where our two rooms shared a bathroom in the middle.

Although the guest house is just off the main street, it was still quiet at night or a restful night's sleep.

Breakfast was huge and comes highly recommended in a beautiful dining room or outside on the patio facing the garden.

Thank you for recommending the route up to Loeriesfontein past Nieuwoudtville waterfall and the quiver tree forest. Loeriesfonetin, the dorpie was beautiful with all it's flowers. In the end we were a bit hesitant to proceed to Springbok via the Kliprand dirt road and returned to go via the N7 again. The trip was absolutely worth it.

We were sorry our stay was only one night and if we are in your area again, we wouldn't hesitate to knock on your door for a place to stay.

We spent 2 nights there and can recommend this beautiful place. We had a skiboat and Michel, the Swiss co-owner, was super helpful that we could park the boat inside the premises. The setting of this B&B is legendary because you live in a tropical garden (birds, plants, palm tree, big lawns to play on, two pools). Joseph, the manager, is friendly and knowledgable. Clanwilliam has become a bit rundown, but the huge dam is still amazing. Saw two Bald Eagles.

Dear Ken Thank you very much for taking your time to write and post a review. It was our pleasure to have you and your family to stay with us and we hope it is the first of many more visits to come. It was a happy weekend for us too as once more we were filled with happy guests who were able to take advantage of the wonderful weather and spend time with their families on Clanwilliam Dam. How lucky were you to see two Bald Eagles! What a privilege. Until next time, we send you our warmest regards. Cheryl, Michel and Joseph.

Overall one of the best guesthouses we have ever stayed. The room was outstanding! So was the bathroom. The service was very good, The breakfast was out of this world. Although this guesthouse is in the center of town, we did not experience any noise vernight.

We stayed for two nights in this magical setting. After a morning of viewing the bushman paintings, we spent the afternoon in one of the many small clearings in the garden with our feet up reading in the shade. The evenings were spent with our feet at the fire, eating take-away pizza from Bella-Louise. Joseph was a consummate host and served delicious cappuccinos which we had on the stoep overlooking the oasis-like tranquility of the garden. One of our top ten stopovers.

Arrived very late and nowhere to stay from Namibia.
A room was offered and nothing was too much for my host Michel to do. He could see I was dead tyred and hot and made sure I was made comfortable.
From the passion that goes into the interior decorating, making one feel the Tranquillity of the area, to the fantastic gardens.
One can easily stay here for a few days to recharge.
Can definitely recommend the Yellow Alloe boutique guest house in Clanwilliam. Thanks Cheryl and her partner Michel

After just a few minutes of welcoming conversation with the owner Michel, you have arrived at the Yellow Aloe and feel as comfortable as if you had been here for days, which is definitely what you should do, because the facilities of this guesthouse enchant you immediately.

The friendliness and helpfulness of Michel and his wife Cheryl are unsurpassable. We saw how they did everything they could to care for a couple where the man had broken his foot, even to the hospital in Cape Town and more.

We had room 1 and room 4 in the Longhouse, both outside and well equipped, but above all the thick walls have the huge advantage that you didn't have to switch on the aircon even when the outside temperature was 43°C!

Breakfast is served on the outside terrace and you can enjoy the splashing of the water features in the garden and the birds buzzing around. Simply beautiful.

From here you can drive to many places worth seeing, e.g. B. Lamberts Bay and the gannet colony or Seville with the paintings and further to Wupperthal or what you should definitely not miss, the Cederberg Mountains near Sanddrif, with the best of all the best hikes, to Wolfberg Cracks and Wolfberg Arch, unbeatable!

Michel had reserved restaurants for us, which were always brilliant locations.

On our next Africa tour we will definitely return to Yellow Aloe!

A lovely welcome and good breakfast in this quirky, enchanting garden. The room was fairly large (with a large bath too) with a small kitchen area (fridge and microwave), a sofa and outdoors chairs. Good Wifi overall. The only niggles would be a very creaky bed and the pool water looked cloudy (I didn't check the pH levels so I have no idea how good or bad this was). There isn't much to do in Clanwilliam itself but there are fabulous drives around.

We stayed in the Yellow Aloe Guest House for two nights and enjoyed our stay, the good breakfast, the beautiful garden and much more. Our room was very comfortable and we have had everything we needed. Further the staff was very helpful, gave us good information about the things to do in the area and arranged an interesting tour through a Buchu and Rooibos farm. Thank you!

We spent two nights at Yellow Aloe. Fantastic experience. A dream place. Peace, tranquility and a beautiful garden. The staff is exceptional (Thank you Josef) and always listening to us. Spacious rooms with very high quality bedding. Small refrigerator with water, milk and the kettle with coffee and tea available. Not to mention an excellent WIFI connection. Despite a general power cut (very frequent unfortunately) our breakfast was provided by gas cooker. The Yellow Aloe is absolutely the place where to stay if you are passing through Clanwilliam. Fabulous.
