They have air conditioning now. The day after we arrived the temperature soared to 38 deg C. What a life saver! The room comfortable, furnishings cute. The hostess sweet. Breakfast, yogurt & fruit, eggs bacon etc. The view, outstanding.

We spent a single night at Klokkies B&B. The dirt road leading up to the house could be a challenge for some city slickers, but the view from the top more than compensate for that. The rooms were neat, clean and the owners very friendly. All in all a very enjoyable stay.

Klokkies B&B is situated on the outskirts of Calitzdorp on a small ridge that overlooks the surrounding area. The facility is easily accessible by car or SUV but the access road may make it difficult when towing a trailer. The rooms are very comfortable, clean and neat, as well as spacious. The hosts are also very friendly and helpful, serving a great breakfast!

We were on the way to Nieu Bethesda from Somerset West and decided to break our journey at SA's port capital, Calitzdorp. The name Klokkies appealed and we booked a night there. It was so clean, comfortable and friendly that we booked ourselves in again for the return journey five days later. Don't try and find a place for a sundowner in Calitzdorp because everything seems to close at 5pm. We had hoped that the Boplaas Bistro mught be open or the De Krans Deli but no such luck. So buy something special and watch the sunset from the stoep at Klokkies. The view of the surrounding countryside is superb and the night sky is so beautiful. It's about 5kms from Calitzdorp town so it's very quiet at night. Yvonne cooks a very substantial breakfast for R50 a head. Lots to do in the area and the best plan is to visit Boplaas (who now make craft gin and a very good whisky in addition to their other award winning products) and pick up a tour map. A visit to the red hills about 15kms away at sunset is a good plan. Or spend a little longer in the area and explore the back-roads and visit the many art galleries.

Very neat, tv & aircon. Amazing views and great hospitality. I will certainly be back. Quiet evenings with clear skies and during the daytime you overlook vineyards on the one side and mountains on the other side. Wine tasing nearby with restaurants
