I booked in at short notice on a late journey from Knysna to CPT (had to ride out the Covid-19 lockdown 9pm curfew). I arrived in Calitzdorp around 19:30 after a dark and rainy drive over the mountain pass from George. During the drive, Henry contacted me to confirm my arrival time and see if I wanted food - YES PLEASE...I was starving. I got kinda lost (following GPS) in Calitzdorp and Henry guided my to their restaurant (a separate building in town) over a couple of 'help!' phone calls from me. The chicken and prawn curry was magnificent. After my meal and great conversation with Henry, Dewan (the chef) guided me to the B&B and checked me in. I had booked the simplest and cheapest room (Walrus) but it was nicely appointed and had a very welcome gas fire on that sub-zero night. Good breakfast in the morning and back on the road. Both the restaurant and the accommodation are well recommended. They have an eclectic style and the owners and staff are most welcoming. A great, although brief, experience.

Very comfortable, safe and welcoming accommodation. A pity the wind blew so strongly overnight - it sounded as if the roof might be blown off. Michelle was a great host and made us feel very welcome. Food delivery was arranged due to lockdown from the local restaurant. Recommended for those wanting a stopover in Calitzdorp.
