My title says it all - my time at Tswalu Kalahari was truly some of the greatest nights of my entire life. I loved bonding with every staff member, and our safari guides were the best -- it was some of the most luxurious and relaxing experience, but we also learned so much about the Kalahari and about the area and it was truly just the most special experience.

Tswalu is one of those places that you visit and instantly feel at home and keep wanting to go back - despite the hefty price! After many years of wanting to visit, we finally got a chance in late Oct 2020 - and it worked out really nicely as we got to experience a few Kalahari thunderstorms and rains during our stay. The staff are great, and tailor your safari experience according to what you want to see, length of stay, etc., We could not have had a better team of ranger & tracker than the highly experienced, friendly, and funny Obakeng and Pete. Everyday they found something very interesting for us, and the game drives were just amazing - we even got to track some cheetas on foot! We highly recommend the horseback safari as well. The chalets are more than comfortable, have everything you could want, and the food was simply incredible (despite the remote location). Be careful, the staff try to feed all the time, and it's very hard to resist when the food is so delicious!!! One very minor disappointment is that the minibar was stocked with Bains whiskey and Castle lager . I get that Tswalu wants to support local, but they are way better local whiskeys & beers , especially when considering how much one pays to stay there. Despite the expensive prices, we would definitely go back!

Dear Nakkiran Thank you so much for taking the trouble to post a review following your stay at Tswalu in October last year. It was so lovely meeting you during your time here. I am delighted to hear that you had a positive overall experience and that the combination of accommodation, food and game drives were all well-received. Thank you for raising the matter of what our minibars get stocked with. Although we use South African whiskey and gin to support local as much as possible, we can stock minibars with anything else our guests request. Please accept my apologies for not picking this up during your stay. I do trust we will have the opportunity to welcome you back to Tswalu in the not-too-distant future. Kind regards Nigel

We loved our stay at Tswalu. The attention to detail and wonderfully spacious villa/suite made one feel very special indeed. Kyle our ranger must be one of the most knowledgeable and humble hosts we have ever encountered. There is not much to fault. The pangolin was a bucket list item ticked too. Stay safe.

Arriving at Tswalu, and climbing onto the Safari vehicle - I was welcomed with an awesome thunderstorm...I knew I was going to enjoy the Kalahari! I was warmly welcomed by Kyle my guide and Ben my tracker and we made our way to The Motse. Greeted by many, many smiles and it was just like being at home with family. All explanations and paperwork done I was taken to my room ...No 7 and ‘wow’ was I blown away by the space and the decor, beautiful and spacious. A back verandah where you can really be one with nature. My days out on the vehicle were full of fun and a wonderful learning live classroom - I enjoy all that the bush has to offer and so never had a wishlist. Treated to many wonderful experiences, got to see pangolin, spent an evening looking at scorpions (many many), was privy to a boomslang being released, enjoyed being able to watch the Pygmy Falcon ringed and then got to release the bird. Close up with Wild Dog (my favourite carnivore) Had loads of fun with Kyle watching all the insects 🐜 leaf-cutter bees, thread waisted wasps, butterflies and many more .... learning about the plant life in the Kalahari also a highlight - not worrying about time constraints made it so pleasant. The habituated meerkats were a special treat .... got to see the new babies! The meals were an absolute treat, always beautifully presented and delicious. Service was impeccable and nothing too much trouble. Thank you for going out of your way for my special request for non-alcoholic drinks - so appreciated. Tswalu and it’s landscape is Magical, the grey clouds contrasted with the red sand ... no words!! Thank you for a wonderful week - I was treated like royalty.

Thank you. Thank you for out of this world hospitality, for amazing food, extremely attentive staff who knew what I needed before I even thought about it. Thank you for showing me what true high-end hospitality actually means. Rooms are massive, modern, brand new and leave absolutely no space for any complaints. We had fabulous game drives with our guide Josh and our tracker Ari. Amazing. Amazing Place. One Day, I will be back, until them please keep up this standard and stay as positive as you all are.
