Millstream Farm is a beautiful getaway. Perfect location for family with lots to do for the whole family.
The cottages could be do a little better on the cleanliness scale, we were unable to use the upstairs bedroom as the linen smelt rotten and the floors had a few areas that had not been cleaned from what I assume were previous guests.
The cottages are well equipped and comfortable. Staff are exceptionally friendly.

What a delightful hike we had - so many animals and views.
The stone cottages have everything you need and the fire place is a major attraction coming in from the cold. The accommodation is in an immuculate condition.
Dullstroom, a quant little town, is just 5km away and there are various shops and restaurants to choose from. Definitely a must visit place.
We have been at Millstream before and will go again and again.

This is my second time staying in Millstream. We went to with 3 other families and stayed in 2 neighbouring 5 bedroom cottages. The farm is beautiful and secluded. The cottages are comfortable, cosy and perfectly clean. We fished, went for walks; the kids rode bikes and went horse-riding. This is a place suited to quality time for family and friends. I love it and will keep returning.

First time staying at Millstream Farm. Really enjoyable, despite lockdown conditions. Quiet and peaceful. Close to Dullstroom for restaurants etc. Great trout fishing and walks around the dams. We shared a 5 room cottage with 3 other couples. Well equipped, clean and neat.

We enjoyed every second of our stay at the beautiful Millstream Farm! The accommodation was far beyond what we had expected and the views extraordinary. There are many activities to occupy one’s time with should one not be interested in fishing. All of the staff members were warm and friendly and knowledgeable. The farm is very near to the charming town of Dullstroom and all of its attractions.

Dear Jes Robin, Management would like to take this opportunity to apologise for what you perceived at the time, as a "did not care attitude"! After 20 years of a totally crime free farm environment, Millstream and many other remote and and open Resorts were seen as soft targets for opportunistic criminals. Subsequently Millstream introduced a host of security measures in 2010/11 and since the inception of these measures Millstream has not had any further security incidents. Yours sincerely.

Travelled with 2 families and stayed in a 10 sleeper cottage, had some reservation before we left but the cottage with its 5 b/rooms, open plan lounge, dining room & kitchen blew all those silly reservations away !

It was a great time to bond with the teenagers again and caught some trout.

Since there are no TV's it was a great time to catch on some reading and socialising.

The resort rules are a bit over the top.

We Loved the setting, the farm is very beautiful but in cottage 20, on the weirs, we endured a strong sewerage smell for the entire week. The plumbing in the unit regurgitated foul liquid into the upstairs bath when someone flushed a toilet downstairs. The wooden floor in the upstairs bedroom is so loose and creaky we were worried it might collapse. A number of the light fittings are broken and /or fitted with piercing blue white lights , except for the bedside reading lights which have thick shades on them so that one needs a torch to read by.
We had a lot of rain during most of the week, so we were cooped up in the unit for a large amount of time. We never had more than 6 people occupying the unit and there are 10 beds but there is place for only 6 in the lounge and only 8 small chairs around the dining room table.
Thanks to loadshedding, we were obliged to do our cooking in the supplied (broken) weber braai. However there is simply no place to braai under cover, so this normally pleasant activity was utterly miserable. A large orange umbrella was supplied, (un-erected), which needs a ladder to mount it on the frame but this too was broken.
To add to the misery there are no awnings or covers of any sort over the doors, the main entrance area has no drain in it so the water pools up against the door, which in turn flooded the firewood storage.
Choose units away from the weirs, (pretty but very smelly). The weirs are not stocked with trout due to the many otters.
If the weather is rainy and loadshedding is in force you might have nowhere to cook. The battery inverter system supplies the lights but the kettle or microwave will deplete the batteries.
What a beautiful setting , so badly spoiled by a no ability to combat the vagaries of the Dullstroom weather.
An added irritation is the weekend assault of music emanating from the nearby township slightly upstream.
The birding was fabulous.
The access road to the farm is in very poor condition, if it is raining you might not get to town for a meal, unless you have a proper 4X4.
We counted 7 different otters, which are beautiful, but if it is trout fishing, Clear air and a peaceful weekend you are after, I suggest you look elsewhere.
What a bitter, bitter disappointment this was for us, especially considering the Hefty Levy.

We were welcomed warmly at the gate when we visited as day visitors. All the facilities and infra structure was well maintained. The farm is stocked with game, including blesbuck, zebra and springbuck. The beautifully designed cottages are dotted around the dams, hillocks and streams in a picturesque manner. The farm seemed to be fully booked over the weekend when a festival was on in Dullstroom. We observed guests horse riding, walking, cycling, fishing and playing squash and tennis.
Would love to return to stay over on this magnificent farm.
Ideal for a wholesome retreat.

We love returning to Millstream each time. How can it get better and better?! Thank you once again for an excellent break. Friendly and helpful staff, perfect setting - even though we do not fish! We were in unit 4 this time and again we are so impressed with the facilities: all you need and more in the kitchen and the rest of the house is the best i have ever seen in terms of self-catering. Spacious and generous. We look forward to many more visits. Thank you to all at Millstream Farm.
