Detailed Reviews
The Guest House Pongola is a great stay for those wishing to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life. The tropical garden is a great place to relax and their pool is well kept. The rooms are comfortable. The breakfasts are top quality. The manager, Michelle, was a delight.

We stayed at The Guest House Pongola, enroute to Ponta Malongane in December 2019. The accommodation was fabulously comfortable and Michelle the host was wonderful. We felt her warmth and welcome as soon as we got out of the car. I would recommend them any day and will be visiting again.

We spent one night at The Guest House Pongola. The staff was very nice and helpful. The guesthouse was quiet et the room was big and clean. We liked this place and for sure we will comeback in the future. Thank you very much.

We decided ro stay for a second day and we were dissalpointed to find the beds not cleaned and done. Especially at this time of covid. Cleanliness was not up to expected standard. Even some workers were not wearing musks

Response from Kim Blevin, General Manager at The Guest House Pongola
Responded 28 Dec 2020
Dear Nonkululelo Thank you for your feedback. The room was clean for your arrival but housekeeping did slip up on day 2 of your stay when you were in the room during the morning. The housekeeping staff should have asked you to vacate the room so that they could clean and make the beds. We do apologise for that and closer supervision will ensure that it doesn't happen again. As for the masks we will also make sure that staff wear them - even in the 45 degree heat, here in Pongola. Kind Regards Angela Collins Manager The Guest House Pongola

It was one of the nosiest places I have ever slept in. Total night mare. The staff was amazing but experience horrible. Drunken noisy guests late at night and around 3am I could hear their entire conversation from my room I literally had to wake up and go knock on their door to quiten down

My colleague and I got to the guest only to be told that the guest is full and they did not have our bookings. We asked if the booking were done telephonic or by email. We were then told that the lady in the office did not give her the email bookings. They then found us alternate accommodation which was not good.

The staff are friendly and the rooms are extremely clean. The breakfast was really good! Pongola, the town, is not the best destination, unless you drive far and need a bed to rest. The bed was too soft for our liking. Showers were good.

Spent one night at the guest house on the way to Mozambique..
Was neat and cozy, can prebook breakfast for R75, which is fine if you going to do a early morning trip out again..
Rooms are fine, only issue is that one room is directly off the breakfast area, but it was okay when I stayed there.
Seen a small gecko in my room, but left it as it's supposed to bring good luck..
Hostess is very friendly, will go stay there again

We had an absolute wonderful stay and Gail was just amazing. She made our stay very comfortable. We will definitely stay there again. The fact that we could access our room at anytime was also great. It's a beautiful place
