We went for a Game drive and saw the Rhino's about 1km into the Bush and the Game ranger took us for a walk to get closer. That was exciting. With our walk through the bush we saw much more animals then from the bakkie. The walk was great as it was overcast and not to warm.

We went to the nature reserve to do tiger fishing in the Jozini Dam. We stayed at Inyati self catering units. It was serviced with all luxuries such as fully equiped kitchen with dstv as well as airconditioning in all units and a private swimming pool. It was serviced every day. I never thought being in the bush could be so wonderful

Six of us arrived at Inyati not really knowing what to expect other than some info from a previous visitor.
What we found was lovely rooms, well set out and spotless. Each room has a lovely verandah with views down the river and beyond.
There are four separate units all on suite. One has a double bed, two units have two single beds and the fourth unit has three single beds.
Up above the rooms is a huge cottage with full kitchen facilities and equipment. A dining area and a sitting area with T.V. if one desires.
Outside of this is a huge bauma complete with fireplace. There is a choice of a electric or charcoal braai for your convenience, There is even potjie pots available at your disposal.
The staff are very pleasant and I must remark on the camp manager Maritjie, who is super helpful, bouncy and friendly.
We will return very soon and probably with our wives who would find it so relaxing. I nearly forgot to mention that there also a small swimming pool for your use as well.
Fresh air and the sound of the animals at night makes this place worth every cent and is very reasonably priced.
As mentioned earlier we were six guys who went tiger fishing trip on Jozini Dam. We hired a boat and skipper from pongola Reserve and once again well organised. The boat is huge so lots of space between anglers. On board there is a toilet and gas cooking facilities. It would be remiss of me not to mention Nicholas, our skipper who could not do enough for you.

Room Tip: All rooms have lovely views but probably the room with the double bed is the best panoramic view.

When we arrived we were advised we were the only guests on site (!) but over the next few days others did turn up.
As other reviewers have commented upon, it is functional rather than luxury - Shamwari it is not - but their prices reflect this......and all the staff were really engaging.
The thing that makes it are the views from the front lodges have over the passing river valley and the extensive views beyond.
We did one game drive which, at best, could be considered "average"......use it as a stop over when heading through the area either North or South.
The main facility is some way off the road so a 4x4 is preferable BUT not essential.

This is not every persons cup of tea. It cannot be thought of as luxury; it is pretty basic and rustic. I would never spend more than a night or two here. Its is a great stop over spot though. It does great game drives and walks. Extremely experienced rhino trackers! We got very close on two occasions and my kids didnt find it too close (I am VERY easily scared!) The sleep units are comfortable with good views. The food was average...but we are a family that dont like to see massive wasteful buffets of food so we didnt mind the offerings. I know that I should rate this lower...but we really liked the simplicity of it. (PS we were aware that the two other groups sharing the space with us were hunters...they were discrete and management were considerate...but it is always unpleasant when one group are there to enjoy animals and another are there to shoot them...)

We had a lovely visit to the Pongola Nature Reserve.
Accommodation is lovely and secluded.

The spa was a wonderful treat with amazing views. Staff were very attentive with exceptional service. They certainly made our trip memorable.
Would love to stay longer.
