The room was warm, welcoming with classic Route 66 radio to greet us. Set the scene for a fantastic experience. Every where you look is a photo opportunity. Our room was absolutely spotless. Could not recommend this motel more highly! We will make a point of returning for longer next time. Thank you Larry!
We stopped briefly on our Route 66 quest and found the place to be alive and well. The town it’s located in was really chocked full of the Mother Roads quintessential signs and memorabilia. We found this town and this place to be some of our mst interesting in New Mexico.
We were on a long road trip and wanted to stay away from the chain hotels as much as possible (we succeeded) and during my research I came across Motel Safari. What a great find!!! The hotel had been lovingly restored and doesn't lack a thing! When we got into our room (34) the radio was playing music from the 50s and 60s, the room was large and squeaky clean and very well appointed. Everything retro with a modern twist. The A/C was remote controlled, but we opened the window, since it was cool enough outside and the location was very quiet. I cannot believe that I didn't take a picture of room. Great quality amenities in the bathroom. A blow dryer and extension cords could be borrowed from the front desk. Free (!) guest laundry, with detergent and pre wash provided (you are being asked to keep it to one load, which is more then fair). A community refrigerator was available. There was outdoor firepit, with firewood provided and a lot of fun paraphernalia, relating to Route 66, to look at. There was also a lot of info about what to do and see in the office. The owner was very nice and constantly working on the property. Great stay!!!…
Strong winds and storms prompted us to stop in Tucumcari. Found this place by accident and would definitely come back. Manager was accommodating. Room was clean and updated and comfortable/cozy Great night sleep and price was reasonable
My wife and I were on our way to Colorado and decided to stop for the night. We found this cool retro motel on Old Route 66 and decided to give it a whirl. It did not disappoint! What a fantastic little joint. The owner was very accommodating and you can tell he put his heart into the renovation. Everything was refreshed and looked fantastic. It was also immaculate! We’ll definitely give this place another stop when we come back through.
