Do not waste your money. This is a motel that is run down & dirty. Upon entering the lobby, steps have cracked cement & missing tile. Lobby had mold on the ceiling. We decided to forfeit our prepaid reservation & stay else where.

You may see some old bad reviews of this vintage mid-century lodge motel. They are outdated. Over two years the new owner, whom we met, has renovated every room. It's newly painted and adorned with gorgeous murals. Clean (except the floors), and in walking distance to all historic Taos sites and shops and restaurants, as well as Taos Pueblo which is next door. If you like walking, you can leave the car parked at the motel and walk through the historic center. Worth the extra $10 to get a large 2-queen-bed room with an alcove area. Fridge and microwave in every room. We stayed 4 nights in March 2021 and it was great.

We traveled with our dog Ruby and found the Kachina Lodge and we so thankful that we did! While the Kachina Lodge has been there many years, we found the check-in area and staff to be extremely welcoming. We stayed in a very cute room that had very nice updates including flooring. It was adorable and most of all very clean. The room was spacious and the bathroom area was huge with plenty of room to place belongings and bags. We had a front little stoop that our dog Ruby loved, and a very nice outdoor common space. This was very nice, affordable, pet friendly, and walking distance to the plaza and restaurants. Thank you!

We arrived at Kachina Lodge in Taos following a marathon drive across the plains and into the mountains arriving late in the evening with tired children and adults. We received the warmest of welcomes and swift service quickly shown to our spacious rooms for sleepy children to be put to bed. In the bright Taos sunshine the following morning we realized what a wonderfully charming hotel we had discovered. The vibrant murals of traditional Pueblo people which had recently been restored along with colorful paintwork of exterior walls helped us quickly acclimatize to this cultural town. The hotel is clearly being lovingly restored to its original quirky character paying close attention to its Adobe heritage. Although many of the facilities were closed due to COVID19 we were able to sample the extra ordinary hospitality of the owner Pindar who helped us explore the cultural delights of the town and surrounding awe inspiring vistas. It was refreshing to stay somewhere with character and not the corporate shine of so many established chains. It really did feel very personal hospitality and Our children delighted in playing in the open green space of the community courtyard. We were sad to leave as we continued our adventure West but will be back to ski in the winter when hopefully everything will be back to normality.

Spent the night at this Lodge and the art was beautiful... Highly recommend visiting Taos. We didn't have a reservation and the price was ideal. Taos Pueblo is right around the corner and so is the Plaza. All within walking distance. GQ
