The rich red timbres of the African earth are reflected in the warm tones of Madikwe Safari Lodge. Cradled between rolling hills, overlooking game-filled plains intersected by the Marico River and framed by the Dwarsberg Hills, just 20 suites are clustered in three intimate camps. With circular fireplaces at the heart of every suite, and big glass doors to blur the boundary between inside and out, Madikwe embodies the warm, bold heart of this spectacularly rugged corner of Africa. Spacious wooden decks embrace inviting plunge pools, and book-filled shelves in quiet corners entice and captivate, while large pizza ovens add a fun twist to meal times.

I stayed with a friend at the end of Oct 07. We had been in Sabi Bush Camp just prior and it was wonderful. However Madikwe Lodge it is just a wannabe in comparison. The food was sub standard...Cold wart hog kebobs--congealed fat... cold (from the fridge) onion rings. The rangers are not equipped with guns...hence no safari walks-and they don't dine with you during meals. Most lodges have the rangers dine with you at dinner. Also no spotters on the safari vehicles. Purely a money saving tactic as far as I am concerned. Our guide was told at noon one day of a lion kill and chose not to tell us about it until the evening,,,,, and then said it was too far to go. We received this info on good authority from another ranger the next day. We asked for another ranger and were told there

CC Africa's Madikwe Safari Lodge in Madikwe Game Reserve is the most fantastic place to stay. If you want impeccable service combined with top notch accommodations this is the only place to stay while visiting Madikwe Game Reserve. The smallest details are taken care of, nothing is too much and the staff do not know the meaning of the word "no". Whether it's for a couple of nights to do game viewing, a honeymoon or other special occassion, Madikwe Safari Lodge can make sure it's the trip of a lifetime. With rangers that are incredibly knowledgable and excited about showing you what you want to see, you're in for a great time on game drives. The lodge itself offers privacy and seclusion in gorgeous surroundings. It is beautifully built and decorated to feel African, while

This was the most incredible trip! Madikwe Safari Lodge definitely provided a first class experience. The room was an individual structure and had a bedroom area, sitting area and bathroom. It also had a large deck that overlooked the bush, which contained a private plunge pool and shower. We saw an elephant (drinking from the plunge pool) from our deck and other guests saw giraffe and warthog. The view from the room was incredible and the accommodations very nice. The staff saw to every need. They provided a private wake up call with a biscuit and juice. They then served coffee and tea at the common area while you watched the sun rise. Every time we returned from game drives, they met us at the steps with a washcloth and a drink. The game drives were everything you
