I stayed with a friend at the end of Oct 07. We had been in Sabi Bush Camp just prior and it was wonderful. However Madikwe Lodge it is just a wannabe in comparison. The food was sub standard...Cold wart hog kebobs--congealed fat... cold (from the fridge) onion rings. The rangers are not equipped with guns...hence no safari walks-and they don't dine with you during meals. Most lodges have the rangers dine with you at dinner. Also no spotters on the safari vehicles. Purely a money saving tactic as far as I am concerned. This was the most incredible trip! Madikwe Safari Lodge definitely provided a first class experience. The room was an individual structure and had a bedroom area, sitting area and bathroom. It also had a large deck that overlooked the bush, which contained a private plunge pool and shower. We saw an elephant (drinking from the plunge pool) from our deck and other guests saw giraffe and warthog. The view from the room was incredible and the accommodations very nice. The staff saw to every need. They provided a private wake up call with a biscuit and juice. They then served coffee and tea at the common area while you watched the sun rise. Every time we returned from game drives, they met us at the steps with a washcloth and a drink. The game drives were everything you…
