The rich red timbres of the African earth are reflected in the warm tones of Madikwe Safari Lodge. Cradled between rolling hills, overlooking game-filled plains intersected by the Marico River and framed by the Dwarsberg Hills, just 20 suites are clustered in three intimate camps. With circular fireplaces at the heart of every suite, and big glass doors to blur the boundary between inside and out, Madikwe embodies the warm, bold heart of this spectacularly rugged corner of Africa. Spacious wooden decks embrace inviting plunge pools, and book-filled shelves in quiet corners entice and captivate, while large pizza ovens add a fun twist to meal times.

We saved the safari portion for the end of our two week honeymoon trip to South Africa and boy are we glad we chose to do that. Anything after the Kopano Lodge at Madikwe would've been a let down. The Service was fantastic. Special shout out to Connie the guest relations manager and our guide Will, who was so passionate about his job. The lodge itself is amazing. Spacious suite with nice amenities. Food was great as well. Not one single complaint. Highly recommend Kopano, especially if you are traveling as a couple and prefer to be far away from children.

I absolutely love Madikwe and have stayed at 5 different lodges over a total of 10 trips to the reserve. So many of the lodges are incredible, but this one is without a doubt my favorite. Everything about the experience at Madikwe Safari Lodge is perfect. The staff are incredibly attentive without being overbearing. They incorporate a lot of great personal touches, such as providing reusable water bottles with our names on them or sending us off after check out with snacks for the drive home. The food is, hands-down, the best food I've had on any safari anywhere- both the quality and variety of meals offered is quite impressive. The guides are engaging and quite skilled. Shout out to William! With him, we had some of the best game drives I've had in all of my trips to the

The best lodge for a Safari, specially of traveling with family or looking for the best lodge ever! We had great expectations and everything was much better! The place is beautiful, the view of nature and the nice premises. The activities are incredible, including everything that was organized and planned for the children. We traveled with a 5 and a 2 year old kids and there were activities and places on the lodge specially for them. The food was prepared with very good ingredients, a wide variety of delicious options in the menu and it was all memorable. The rooms are very nicely decorated and with everything that might be needed. But with all of that, the best is the charming and marvelous service from ALL the staff. They are always smiling, ready to help amazingly nice Mu

My husband and I stayed at the Kopano lodge, where they only have four rooms. We were greated by William, our guide, at the airport who drove us to the lodge. On the way to the lodge we saw several animals, and upon driving up to the front of the lodge we were greated by the entire staff. The lodge itself is absolutely stunning, and we were the only guests there our first day, so we truly felt like we had the whole lodge to ourselves. The second day we did have another couple join the lodge, but again, we still felt spoiled to death. The food we had was very, very good. Breakfast started out with granola, yogurt and fruit, followed by bread, preservatives and the baked good of the day (muffins usually). Then you were able to order off of the hot menu, and my husband and I both
