For the most exceptional service, safari experience, home, and amenities go to Morukuru. We were blown away at the personal touches, surprises, staff, food, drinks and game viewing experiences that we had. We stayed at the Owners house and trust me when I say that the photos did not do it justice. It was huge, impeccably decorated and had every amenity that you could wish for. The staff were each above OUTSTANDING. they missed no detail and created a very personalized experience for us. I left with tears in my eyes and Morukuru forever in my heart.

Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback and review, we are very grateful for your kind words. Thank you for selecting Morukuru Owner's House to celebrate your wedding anniversary. It seems you have been very lucky with wildlife sightings as well, as you managed to see - among others - the wild dogs and their pups, as well as cheetahs, lions, rhino, buffalo and even hippo (which are not very common in Madikwe Game Reserve). Our entire team (Shane, Boiky, Esmaralda, Hope, Shaddy, Ellen, Molefe & Gloria) enjoyed looking after you and we hope you are able to return one day. Warmest regards from all of us at Morukuru Family

What an amazing place! Our family of 11 will never forget our four days at the Morokuru Farmhouse. Everything was perfect. The twice-a-day safari runs were informative and fun, thanks to our incredible guides Evan, Gummy, Aubrey and Sonnyboy. It was a magical time for our five grandchildren, ages 6 to 14, and they loved our guides so much they even wrote and performed a song about them. The highlight was a late-afternoon stop at a watering hole where two lions snoozed, elephants slurped water, and a large herd of rhinos showed up, while zebras looked on, all at one time. The accommodations were terrific, and the incredible staff led by Isle made the stay quite memorable. The crew surprised us with a large breakfast in the bush one morning, and on our last night, threw an African bbq on the top of a mountain overlooking the Madikwe Game Reserve. We cannot thank the staff of the Morokuru enough for a life-changing experience that my family will share forever.

Staying at Morukuru Family Madikwe (Owner's House) was an 11* experience. It's impossible to put into words how catered and crafted every element of this trip was for us. Everything was meticulously organized, to a T. From my first email exchange setting up trip details like flights, to landing in the bush and being greeted by a state-of-the-art Land Cruiser turned safari chariot, ice cold water bottles with our name on it, you could not have imagined a more professional execution. On a daily basis, we couldn't help smiling, in partial disbelief at the sheer attention to detail and "over the top" level of service. Every day it seemed they tried to outdo themselves, and nothing was overlooked. The entire team (nearly 10 people!) dedicated to just us was just surreal. I think the housekeeping turned down the room 4 separate times during the day. 50+ lanterns were lit at night just for a short walk from the vehicle to the house. Meals fit for a king and queen. The list goes on. The Owner's House was absolutely gorgeous. It was a lot larger than we expected, maybe 2500-3000 sq ft, and a beautiful blend of luxury in the bush. Radiant floor heaters, ultra comfortable bedding, a private pool, and monkeys running around on the trees outside. In addition to all of the amenities and facilities, the staff was exceptional. Morokuru Family really values family, which becomes obvious when you realize that the staff are nearly all couples themselves and work together. Everything feels so personal and welcoming. Given that this was our first safari, and that we chose Madikwe due to it being malaria-free, it really felt like an idyllic choice. For the uninitiated, game drives can mean 8-10+ hours per day spent with your guide and tracker. Having Evan and Gummi as our guide and tracker was epic. I think these two had 50+ years of combined experience and we had so many amazing animal sightings. It is so surprising that you can drive by a herd of elephants and not even notice due to their natural camouflage. These two were so aware of their surroundings and animal tracks, it was really top-level. And, so respectful of the animals and their environment. How can you come here and not just be in awe at nature. In addition to being an expert driver and guide/tracker duo, we felt incredibly safe despite the obvious dangers of being around wild animals. That is, despite having my own internal freak out moments realizing how close we were able to get. Evan and Gummi were so attuned to the animal's emotions, and are so knowledgable, it really allowed us to relax and trust their instincts. Evan's seemingly photographic memory, filled with all kinds of obscure and interesting facts, and his true passion for being in nature was infectious. We spent countless hours chitchatting on the drives, and enjoyed his sense of humor and personality in between exciting moments of getting up close with lions, elephants, giraffes, rhinos and more. The Morukuru team really does think of absolutely everything, and it was worth every penny. They made our babymoon a truly unforgettable experience. I give Morukuru my highest recommendation.

Well where do I start, me and 6 friend had a fantastic time staying at the Farmhouse, the team looking after us couldn’t have done more. Any requests we had wasn’t a problem. Going out on a game drive and finding out that your meal was going to be served at different locations and the views, stunning, the hard work that goes into making your stay that much special doesn’t go unnoticed. Thank you to everyone for there hard work, always see them with a big smile on their faces. Shane and Boiky made our game drives very enjoyable and the knowledge they have is fantastic, you certainly come home knowing a lot more than you did when you arrived. Esmaralda was a fantastic host, friendly and helpful. Asion’s food is amazing, there is nothing that he can’t cook and his cakes are out of this world.

Smiles as wide as the Grand Canyon! That’s what greeted us and that’s all we saw from start to finish from entire team - Esmaralda, Shane, Boiky, Shadrack, Asion, Suty, Rosemary, Osadi, Ingrid, Amy & Molefe. I can truly say that I have never ever been looked after so well. Every single aspect of the trip was triple extra special, the daily game drives with Shane and Boiky were simply exhilarating, and what can I say about Asion’s food, OMG, I can still taste the pie he made on the 4th day, and spoiler alert, be prepared to put on 5kg in weight! Big thanks too for accommodating my personal dietary ‘halal’ requirements! It was quite emotional saying goodbye to the Morukuru Family because by the end we felt very much part of the family, and the memories that were made with my bestie friends will last forever...

Myself and 6 friends have just returned from an amazing trip. We stayed for 5 nights at Morukuru Farm House and were very well looked after by every single member of staff. All of them worked so hard to ensure we had everything we needed to make the trip special. Prior to the flying to South Africa myself and Esmaralda had communicated about any special food requests we had which including one of our guests requiring halal food. It meant on arrival everyone of us could enjoy the same delicious food that our chef Asion prepared for us either at the house or in a special location in the bush. The safari drives were fantastic and Shane and Boiky ensured we spotted some great game. Thankyou to all of you for looking after us so well and we hope to see you soon.

What can you say about this piece of African heaven. Big 5, scenic, world class hospitality, beautiful. We are just returning to the UK from The Farmhouse which is one of the resorts within the park. All I can say is just look at the photos taken………..this place is a piece of heaven and I’m so sorry to be leaving. Thank you all for an amazing trip and for some life long memories.

Hubbies two sisters Marijke, Joleen and one of his brothers Paul from Holland came to visit us earlier this year. For Paul it was his first time in South Africa. Together with the Morukuru Family we made a travel plan that exceeded all their expectations. To start with the beautiful Athol Villa in the heart of Sandton City, doing a city trip and afterwards to the stunning beautiful lodge called Morukuru River House, in Madikwe. From the very beginning up to the last 'farewell, till we meet again' it was an amazing experience. The lovely people, their hospitality, warmth, Chef Mona's kitchen creations and overall dedication that words fail to describe. The great sightings we had with Shimmy and Dohan, watching the elephants play in the mud, the lazy lions showing their bellies, abundant birdlife. Just one WONDERFUL experience and memories made! Thank you our lovely Morukuru Family!

Being back is magical! We were so fortunate to re-visit Morukuru Family Madikwe again (and would go again in a heartbeat). The beautiful design, the generous arrangements, and above all the heartwarming hospitality exceeded our expectations once more and made us feel at home far away from home. Our 4-day stay, even with lots of rain, was truly special and there’s nothing that beats the cheerful welcome when arriving in Madikwe. Our heartfelt thanks go out to you all and we hope we shall see you again. Lots of love from our family to yours!

Thank you so very, very much for your kind words and this amazing review! It was such a pleasure to welcome you back and to host you at Morukuru Owner's House for 4 nights. Despite the abundant rains you still managed to see some exciting things including the elephants up on the hills, white rhino, buffalo, spotted and brown hyena and to top it all off: the wild dogs on the impala kill. We feel honoured that you picked Morukuru Family again for your special birthday celebrations. The whole team (Esmaralda, Shane, Boiky, Linda, Shaddy, James, Maggie and Masego) had a great time with you and we look forward to welcoming you back any time! It was just incredible! On our routine van transfer, the driver took a wrong turn during unseasonably heavy rains and we ended up stuck in mud. Emblematic of the kind of hospitality and care of the Morokuru team, Shane and Boyke realized something was wrong when we didn’t show up in the excepted window, and came to the rescue of us and our entire van of assorted lodge-goers more than an hour before anyone else showed up. The house is beautiful and comfortable, game viewing was wonderful. We saw big ticket wishlist animals, but we also had young, under 7 year kids who could not have loved the skeletons, lizards, rocks, worms, tortoise sightings and learnings more. The cadence and rhythm of game viewing and surprises made every day super special. The whole team’s cheerful kindness and expertise really inspires us to be the best humans we can be :) Thanks especially to the wonderful Chefy and Shaddy. And then to cap it all off with an extraordinary wild dog hunt! It’ll be impossible not to come back as soon as possible.

Thank you so much for this wonderful review and feedback. Shane and Boiky were happy to come to the rescue when your transfer van to Madikwe got stuck in the mud, due to the unseasonal heavy rains. Despite the rains you had some truly special sightings during your stay, including the lions with the cub, the kudus fighting, elephants, white rhino and of course the spectacular wild dog hunt. The team (Shane, Boiky, Esmaralda, Aaron, Linda, Shaddy, Sonny, Maggo and Masego) all loved hosting you and we look forward to welcoming you back! Warmest regards from all of us at Morukuru Family
