We stayed 2 nights in the very remote camp in the Madikwe Nat. Park near the border to Botswana. It was one of our best camps we ever visit; excellent Covid protocol. Nice people around - very friendly staff - full board with 2 game drives per day - and lots of game ! No electricity - we loved this. On our next trip this camp is on our list ! Due to the current Corona situation less tourists - as we leaved the camp they closed it - hopefully not to long ??
What a wonderful trip once again. A place where you can ditch the technology, focus on nature and feed your soul. And of course take in the magnificent game viewing of Madikwe with the very experienced ranger Jonny (who knows everything about the bush and can spot a chameleon in a tree at night).
This was my 10th long safari trip and I highly recommend Mosetlha !! Everything was wonderful---- the food, the mood, the game drive experience ( Jonny is one of the best ever). We are living in South Africa now and will be back for sure !
We were lucky enough to spend Christmas 2020 at Mosetlha, and what a treat of a Christmas weekend it was. After what 2020 bought, a trip which allowed one to completely disconnect was exactly what the doctor ordered. There is something incredible which happens when you are fully immersed in the African Bushveld, which is what Mosetlha provides. There was not one game drive when we were not treated to fabulous sightings, not only of the more famous Big Five, but also of smaller, less well known animals and birds such as African Wild Cat, Lannar Falcon & Kori Bustard. The bushveld was made even more magical with the Pioneer Cape White Butterfly migration and gorgeous wild flowers! Being a birder can sometimes be a challenge when you are not doing self drive. However this was not a problem at all, our ranger Justice was more than happy to stop for birds, and has an excellent knowledge of the birds in the area! With his help I was able to add 7 lifers to my list, a perfect Christmas gift ! Thank you to Monika, Caroline and their team for this incredible trip! We are already looking forward to returning to the Bush Camp in 2021.…
I can say that the lockdown has caused me to appreciate local travel again! Mosetlha is my favourite spot to recharge my batteries and it only takes 3 nights to do this. We spent Christmas weekend here and it was a Christmas to remember! We just had to come back again after being there only 6 weeks ago. This visit was my 6th in total. Mosetlha is ideally located in the central part of the reserve, giving the two awesome rangers many different routes to take us. Jonny was our ranger and he is such a star! He is very knowledgeable and tells the rangers from the other lodges about sitings that they may have missed. Jonny being an avid photographer also knows how to position the safari vehicle for optimal light so that we could take some stunning photos! Madikwe is such a great reserve and we always have great sitings! Behind driven around on game drives and being cooked for, allows for a quick recharge. Three awesome meals per day and two long game drives per day make for a perfect break! The reserve has all the animals one would want to see as well as the most amazing bird life. Meals are eaten around a single, large dining room table and this creates an intimate and more sociable experience. We have met the most interesting people at the lodge and they all have interesting stories to tell. The camp manager, Monika and the owner, Caroline have the most awesome stories to tell of all their experiences in the industry and at the camp and could write a very interesting book about them! Already thinking of when to book my next trip in “my happy place.” …
