This is the type of place you would expect an " African lodge" to be. Real comfort, real personal service, great views and yes, off course, great food! From the moment you arrive, you feel as if you are more than welcome to be there! No request is too much and all such is met with a smile. The room, bathroom, private garden, gowns and slippers, with proper towels, air-conditioning and fan just makes you want to stay longer. The game viewing was exceptional and very unexpected! Then there is the waterhole with its amazing hide: when last did you sit at eye level to an elephant's feet and at the same time having the trunk trying to smell who was watching it??? With a generally easy drive from OR Tambo-airport, I would expect this to be on many a first time visitor's MUST do list!…
This is our third visit to Bush House together and my husband’s sixth. Sue and Gordon Morrison and staff do everything they can to make every visit special! Aside from proving every amenity you can imagine, they go above and beyond to ensure that every customer request is fulfilled completely. Before we got there for a three day Christmas visit, I asked Sue to help me plan a surprise Christmas gift for my husband. I wanted it to be very special and related to our visit. I gave her a price range and she came up with the perfect thing. She ordered it and had it there when we arrived. Next, I arrived with bad case of travelers diarrhea. The staff took care of me and made sure I had everything I needed. The cooks even made me a special dinner to cater to my messed up…
We have been traveling to southern Africa for 25 years. And we never thought there would be a place that surpasses everything we've seen so far. But there is. And we were there. Thank you to everyone who made us an unforgettable week.
My fiancé and I just returned from four days at the Bush House and had the experience of a lifetime! There were so many things that made the trip special, but I’ll try and condense these into a few key items. The staff: from the cleaners to the safari guides, the staff could not have made us feel more at home. They went the extra mile every step of the way - I’ve never experienced such great service. The safaris: were absolutely incredible. The safari guides were masters at tracking down animals and there were times when we saw four of the big five in a single safari. They are also remarkably knowledgeable. The accomodation: was truly beautiful. The waterhole, located directly in front of The Bush House, lets you observe the animals in their natural environment 24/7. The…
Thank you Sue and Gordon, Damian (Field Guide), Nadine, Patrick, Roxann and the behind the scenes staff whom we didn't meet, who made our visit such a memorable one. We loved the intimate atmosphere (max.12 guests), and the underground hide was a uniquely amazing experience. Accommodation, food and experiences and the company of other guests were rolled into a complete package at The Bush House. We'd love to return in the future, and experience it at a different time of the year. Ken and Merrin, Western Australia
