#4 of 23 Speciality lodging in Madikwe Game Reserve
Travellers' Choice
Safari isn’t just safari anymore…. And game lodges aren’t all alike. Every visit really does need to be special and every moment something to be remembered forever. The Bush House is not your typical Game lodge. The Lodge is set in the malaria free Madikwe Game Reserve. It is an old farmhouse that after years of family laughter and happiness has been transformed into an inviting and relaxing residence that encourages guests to kick off their shoes and unwind.

We spent 10 days in The Bush House. As returning guests it was hard for us that we couldnt travel in 2020 in case of Covid. So we were "blown away" if we at last arrive on the 21.July. The heartwarming welcome was so great that we felt immediately at home. Our stay was WONDERFUL. We have not enough words to describe all our feelings. The staff is amazing, such a honest friendliness you cannot find at other places. Such an attentive caring and spoiling us every second -- unbelievable. We had amazing, outstanding Game Drives, special sightings at the Hide (what an awesome place) and in the beautiful Lodge Garden. Time flews away and we were absolutely sad if we had to leave the Lodge. Such a hospitality is really unbelievable. The owners are very heartfelt people and always in

A truly wonderful experience in the Bush. Lizelle and lodge staff are attentive and friendly, nothing is too much for them. Guides (Daimon and Patrick) are very knowledgeable and amazing in the bush. Rooms are spacious and comfortable and the game viewing hide gives a fantastic unique view on the animals at the water hole. A really amazing weekend away and will definitely be back.

The Bush House has a very unique feature that I have yet to experience at other game lodges. They have excellent views of a watering hole that allows for very good sightings of elephants, rhinos, zebras, wart hogs, wildebeests, etc. throughout the day and night. They also have an elephant hide that allows you to get very close views of elephants without them noticing. That was magical. The service was also exceptional with great attention to detail and making guests feel at home. I highly recommend this game reserve and am thinking about going back.

My 4 th visit to The Bush House Madikwe, and it never fails. A fantastic setting, staff go above and beyond in every way. Outstanding game viewing experience, rhino, elephant, lion and wild dogs, to name but a few, making use of the floodlight waterhole. Game drives also excellent, with knowledgeable rangers. Total rest and relaxation during our 3 night stay. Thank you Sue and Gordon for our wonderful stay, we will be back.

Great experience, beyond expectations. Very nice staff, lovely rooms, excellent food. We got an upgrade to 2 single rooms, even though we booked a twin room to share. Waterhole on the estate provides constant viewing of animals, making it a great place for the whole family - elderly or small children. Highly recommended!
