#4 of 23 Speciality lodging in Madikwe Game Reserve
Travellers' Choice
Safari isn’t just safari anymore…. And game lodges aren’t all alike. Every visit really does need to be special and every moment something to be remembered forever. The Bush House is not your typical Game lodge. The Lodge is set in the malaria free Madikwe Game Reserve. It is an old farmhouse that after years of family laughter and happiness has been transformed into an inviting and relaxing residence that encourages guests to kick off their shoes and unwind.

A much needed 5 day breakaway from all the hustle, bustle and stress at work were wisely spent at The Bush House lodge in Madikwe. The tranquility of the lodge and its busy waterhole, the friendliness of the staff who are committed to make your stay as pleasant and comfortable as they can and the exiting game drives run by experienced guides makes for a unique and truly African bush safari experience. All the C19 protocols are in place and being followed giving tourists peace of mind in this regard. The photography opportunities offered by the underground hide at the lodge waterhole and the citing's during the game drives are truly fantastic making the stay that much more memorable. As always the cuisine is top class and having dinner at different locations at the lodge ranging

A lovely and comfortable farm house in the middle of the bush with a waterhole just off the garden where we saw elephant, rhino, jackals and even hyena while sipping wine. Our host, Rebecca, made us feel so welcome and went above and beyond to attend to every need. Our guide, Damien, took us to the most incredible sightings and was very knowledgeable about the birds and animals he pointed out. I can't say enough good things about the venue, the staff and the wildlife. An amazing experience.

An incredible four days spent at The Bush House. Could not ask for a more perfect setting or hands on staff. Staff were friendly and helpful with every aspect of our stay. The underground hide is a MUST, never experienced game so close up. We saw 4 of the big five in one day as well as a cheetah with her 3 cubs. From start to finish what an amazing experience!!!!!

From start to finish a truly unique African bush experience. The attention to detail by the owners Gordon & Sue is absolutely first class and ALL the staff went out of their way to make us feel at home and cater for our every need. The game viewing was 5 star and I lost count of the number of rhinos we saw! This was topped off with seeing a cheetah with her cubs and a caracal within 15 minutes of each other. The underground hide is a photographers dream, with a non stop procession of game coming & going from elephant, black rhino, buffalo, lion to all the plains game. You do not have to leave the comfort of The Bush House to enjoy the wildlife. The rooms, bar service , hospitality and food were all of the highest level. We will be back !

For a fabulous wildlife experience combined with 5-star+ hospitality, visit The Bush House in the Madikwe Game Reserve in the North West Province of South Africa. We recently spent a weekend at The Bush House where Gordon and Sue Morrison made sure that from arrival to departure we were spoiled with more than the best service you can wish for. The game drives with a competent guide, for us as nature lovers, served as the highlight of the day. The accommodation, service and the catering are just the best you can get. With a water hole and an underground hide in front of the Lodge, there is excitement all through the day and night. The Bush House is a place you will wish to go back over and over again.
