We spent 3 nights at Jaci's Lodge recently, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff are great: friendly, helpful, and attentive; the food is great; and most important of all, the knowledge of our ranger (Peter) was simply incredible. Madikwe boasts an incredible wildlife density, and we got to see all the animals we wanted to, and also learnt a lot about birds from Peter. The staff go out of their way to make your stay as interesting as possible, such as organising dinners at different locations each night (weather permitting). The dinner on the viewing platform was a treat, and so was the breakfast, when we could watch a herd of elephants come to the waterhole for a drink and having to chase away the resident crocodile! The rooms are well appointed, with everything one could need, with an extremely comfortable bed. However, the lack of an indoor shower is a big issue, especially when the weather is terrible, as this means you have to shower in the cold/rain. The tea station could also be a bit better, and finally the lack of blackout curtains is a major issue as this means you can't really have a daytime nap in the bright room. Highly recommend Jaci's Lodge for a truly authentic safari experience!

We had a wonderful weekend at Jaci’s & met some really lovely people. Andrew & Rhona who manage the lodge are a truly amazing couple and go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome and at home. Mooketsi who was the Duty Manager during our stay is a real superstar too, a wonderful, caring & personable man. The support staff of Kia, Victoria & Malvern were fabulous, friendly & attentive. The lodge is beautifully situated and laid out, one truly does feel like you are in the treetops. I loved the long winding wooden walkways that connected the main area to the various public spaces and the rooms. The rooms are beautiful, huge, and spacious with a fabulous bathroom and outdoor shower which is always a hit in the summer months, not so sure about in winter, but then you do have a truly enormous bath to soak in!! We had the most amazing meals with the added enjoyment of having our meals in various areas of the lodge and surrounding bush, which was fabulous. Unfortunately, I am not sure of Chef and his team’s names, but their food was absolutely delicious, amazingly presented & a treat each meal! Our guide Ollie was simply brilliant, so knowledgeable and a real character who kept us entertained all the time. We had some really super sightings, as is the case at this time of year no matter where you are, the bush is thick with lots of water around so one has to work hard & cover some distance for the sightings. The hide at Jaci’s was very special & a highlight for us. Seeing herds of elephants come down to drink and play in the water right next to you was indeed an exceptional privilege! Overall a really fabulous weekend, we came away feeling like part of the family & cannot wait to visit again😊 (Apologies to Andrew & Rhona for the delay in getting my review up!)

My Wife and I were very very impressed by the staff, food, accommodation and everything else at Jaci,s Tree Lodge. I will not hesitate to recommend this place to friends family locally and internationally. We have a special vegetarians diet and it was accomplished with elegance and taste by Thato and Milton. the support staff were always at hand to take care of your every need. Our Ranger Peter was excellent. We also chatted to the other Rangers , FJ who were always ready to share their knowledge and passion for the animals. You have no choice but to relax because your body goes into automatic. The viewing decks are awesome with game visiting the watering hole very regularly. We have stayed at establishments Like Sabi Sabi Bush and Sangita and dare I say this ranks right up there with these places. Will definately return

If you want to be spoilt whilst experiencing the natural environent of Madikwe then Jaci's Tree Lodge is the place to go. As tow adault travellers we loved the fact that children were not allowed at the lodge and we think this enabaled us to relax and enjoy the safari experience. The food at the lodge was amazing, staff so friendly, helpful and keen to please their visitors. Our guide Clayton was extremely knowledgeable and keen to pass on some of his knowledge. Our tree top chelet was large, well equiped and clean. The outdoor shower was strange to get used to but there was plenty of hot water supply and we were not pestered by insects whilst showering outdoors. Wildlife amazing - a visit to the hide is a must for all visitors.

We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of our trip around Southern Africa and it was a fantastic way to end a wonderful journey. We arrived by plane and the airfield is about 10 minutes (6km) from the lodge. Our guide after she had picked us up had already phoned ahead to advise the staff when we would arrive. We were greeted by some of the staff, our bags taken to our room and we were given a welcome non alcoholic cold drink as well as complimentary metallic water bottles whilst we registered. The lodge consists of a central section which includes the dining room, open kitchen, a lounge area and bar. On each side of this area are walkways about 10-15 feet above the ground leading to 4 bungalows on either side. In addition to the central area which is open with no windows are a separate lounge area and an open fire area where you can sit at night. There is a small swimming pool with surrounding deck with loungers. In addition there is a hide by the watering hole about 100 yards from the main entrance. It was wonderful to be at water level looking up at elephants drinking at the watering hole. Above the hide is a bedroom where if you want to you can spend a night under the stars. The room has an outdoor shower and toilet. The Wi-fi which was excellent, fast and complimentary is only available in the central area. Our accommodation was excellent, surrounded by trees and about 10 feet above the ground. There was a balcony with a couple of chairs and a table. The room was very large with a king sized bed in the middle of the room facing the trees , a large stone bath, 2 stone wash basins with mirror and storage space by the bath, an outdoor shower and a separate enclosed toilet in one corner of the room. The room had 2 fans, airconditioning and plenty of power plugs to recharge batteries etc. There was also left complimentary bottles of Sherry and Amarula. What was even better was when you turned on the hot tap you got really hot water. The staff were fantastic extremely friendly and helpful. The food was also excellent. A light breakfast — cereal & fruit was available before we set off each morning for our game drive. When we returned brunch was served with toast, fruit, cheese and cold meat and normally 3 hot options including full English breakfast. Before the afternoon game drive there was a high tea with cakes and small light snacks. The chef come round during this time and explained what were the menu options for dinner — there were normally 2 options for starters and main courses. Our orders were taken so when we returned after the drive there was no long wait for dinner to be served. The food was superb, sensible portions of beautifully cooked fish or meat. One evening we had a BBQ overlooking the watering hole which included salads, soup, bbq chicken, lamb and an oxtail stew. It was excellent. Again when we were returning from each drive our guide would phone ahead to warn the lodge of our imminent arrival so members of staff where there to greet us when we arrived. The wildlife at Madikwe was amazing, we saw lions, elephants, rhino, giraffe etc every day and wild dogs on our last drive. The only animals we didn’t see were cheetahs & leopards. Our driver & guide, Bianca was wonderful from the moment we met her off the plane when we arrived until the moment our flight departed back to Joburg. We can’t thank her enough for an amazing experience. Jaci’s Tree lodge was faultless and we had a wonderful and truly memorable time there
