Detailed Reviews
Due to the Corona-crisis and the South African travel ban we had to cancel our reservation with Shamwari Lobengula. The cancellation-formalities and the refund of our deposit was handled very smoothly and with great professonalism.
We very much appreciated the service of Shamwari Lobengula.

A very small lodge on Shamwari - for one of the three nights we were the only guests! Superb service, superb and huge rooms with our own private pool. One day, on our full-day drive, the staff surprised us by laying on a top-quality picnic lunch just for us in the middle of the reserve! The only one slight drawback was our ranger / driver. On the first trip he was really excited to see black rhino right near our lodge, and couldn't stop going on about it ; at the end of the drive he spent ages gazing at, and photographing, the cloud formations which were a particular interest of his (but not of us). Often he drove too fast - evidence is the fact that one day he was driving behind another jeep and went a lot faster once they tuned off. Hhe got three punctures - at one point we had to get out of the jeep in the middle of the reserve, wait 10-15 minutes and then transfer to another jeep because he could not get hold of enough new tyres.

Whatever you pay for this do not even hesitate. It is worth every penny. From the moment you go through the gate you are treated like royalty. The staff all know your name Food is amazing and offered at every opportunity. The game drives are incredible. Our ranger, Timothy, was knowledgeable and entertaining and great with the kids. The respect that is shown to the animals on Shamwari is obvious. Incredible experience.

+1
This place is simply amazing. If you want to go on Safari on the Eastern Cape in fabulous style with an African twist this place is perfect. It is intimate with only 6 luxury villas. The staff are fantastic and attentive, our Ranger, Sible, exceptional.
